Hey guys so before starting this chapter, I wanted to tell you that there's something that I added to the last, chapter cause while writing I forgot about it,which is that Maria found in the second locker #50 a gun, passports, IDs and 'a ticket to Twinbrook for the day following the party which was June 25th'. Anyways, as always I'm very grateful to everyone who's been reading, voting and commenting. Chapter 12

"The odds are really in our favor, 'Sierra' is gone, so is Nikki 'Lily', thank God for that or we would have had to kill her too, she's been going all cuckoo the past days and she was definitely gonna get us all caught! HE must certainly not know about all of this, he's ruthless and if he felt any danger coming to the organization, he will get rid of us." Ben said

"Yes, thank God, it was hard enough killing a friend, definitely not something I wanted to repeat. But what are we gonna do about Maria?" Lucy replied

"She knows too much, so if we kill her, the police might get closer to us and we'll get caught, we need to be more clever. I think we should pin it all on her; we need to get the police evidence that Maria is Sierra's murderer."

"What about the heroin? We don't know where it is and how to get it! HE is gonna be furious. Ben, have you ever met him?"

"No, I heard of him only. Look, we need to focus now on pinning it on Maria, then the heroin, one problem at a time. Don't worry things will be alright."

"Will they? I mean I think a lot about the whole thing and why we decided to join this; I sometimes wonder if it's worth it, the whole danger."

"Well, just take a second to remember the POOR days, the time when your parents kicked you out and you used to starve for days wandering the streets before the organization took you in, and you'll realize it's worth it."

"I can't deny that they helped me a lot, but killing friends and being in the middle of a murderer, the police interrogations and all of that suck too."

"Don't worry, we're together and things will be alright. Maria is gonna go to jail for killing Sierra and Lily and we'll get the new heroin shipment and send it to him. However, we need to find a way to blame the murder on Maria."

"I think I have something, I kept it for such an occasion" she grabbed her bag and got a small box which contained a necklace with blood stains on it "Sierra was wearing that necklace at the party I found it on the floor next to the body. What if we hide it in Maria's stuff?"

"Lucy, you're brilliant plus she's been doing some detective work, which is quite suspicious, and she's linked to several suspects already."

"Poor Maria."

Maria sat in her jail cell locked in between 3 walls and bars regretting everything she's done, ever since June 24th, that led her to that cell. Not that much time passed, but for Maria, it already felt like days. "Why do I have to be so stupid? I'm gonna die in here! How long has it been? Is that woman really dead? What if I'm still in the train sleeping? Maria, please wake up." Her mind felt like exploding, going all around these thoughts when soon an officer came to her "your lawyer is here."

"Thank God," she said in relief

The officer went out leaving Maria and David to talk "don't worry, I'll get you out of here, as soon as they get the autopsy and realize that the woman wasn't pushed in front of the train, they'll have to let you go. you didn't do anything wrong." David said

"No, David, I did; I had to be this nosy person who needed to know everything and I got myself sucked into this whole mess. That woman, Lily, whatever, told me I'm already number one on their hit list," she said as tears started forming in her eyes

"You wanted to do the right thing and curiosity is just a human nature. Look, don't worry, things will get better and you'll get out," he said as he grabbed her hands from behind the bars

"No, please don't," she said as she pulled her hands away "If you do this, I'll start crying and if I start crying, I won't stop. I need you now as my lawyer."

"OK, whatever you need, but believe me, when they get the results of the autopsy, you'll be out and there's nothing else on you. plus, I even heard them, on my way in, saying there was an eye witness which is a good thing."

"Not if they paid him to lie like they paid that guy at the hotel to kill me. I'm responsible for the death of 2 people and that's a burden that I'll carry forever"

"Both the guy at the hotel and Lily were not good people Maria, don't feel guilty for them and it was their fate to die anyways. Let's focus now on getting you out and solving this, who's trying to hurt you? Tell me exactly everything that happened."

Maria told David all the details ever since the beginning "So now there are Ben and Lucy left, since both Sierra and Lily are dead, and their boss, THE HE." she said ending her long story

"They definitely wanna shut you up, so they'd either try to kill you again, but I don't think they'd be dumb enough to do this, or try to blame it all on you. I'll go talk to that detective, detective James the one you said is on our side, but the police might send someone in to interrogate you informally, so don't be worried, tell them what happened with Lily, but don't talk about the heroin yet, cause it might only bring you down and I'll get back to you."

"OK, be safe."

David left and the officer watching Maria came back in; she sat in her cell thinking 'Jessica Monroe, Sierra Brook, Cassidy Jones, why too much S." she thought

More time passed and it was getting dark, David didn't come back and James didn't come at all. Maria found a small rock and decided to use it as chalk and started writing her thoughts on the walls including all the suspects/guests adding detective Ethan with them with a huge star beside his name. (The photo uploaded with the chapter upwards) Maria turned around as she heard the door opens and detective Ethan entered, he whispered something in the officer's ears which made him go outside then he headed towards Maria.

"I've been hearing a lot about you ever since you came her, but finally, we formally meet." he said

"hopefully, they're good things detective."

"I see you heard about me too and you even included me on your suspects list."

"I was just thinking out loud, but even if I don't trust you, can you blame me after everything I went through ever since I came her?"

"well, you can't blame me either for not trusting you, I believe you know a lot and hiding it which is not a good idea, so you better come clean."

"David was right, he said you'd try to grill me for answers."

"your lawyer? Hopefully, he's good cause from our perspective right now things for you aren't getting any better. Let me tell you what we see from our side, you just came here all of a sudden and Sierra is murdered then you stay at a hotel and someone tries to kill you, but you kill him first and interestingly by stabbing him in the neck with an angle close to the angle of stabbing Sierra then finally today you pushed Lily in front of the train to kill her."

"That's not true, the guy at the hotel was gonna kill me, I was defending myself and today, Lily came to me with a knife trying to kill me, but I never pushed her, she jumped and I even tried to help her, but she refused."

"We'll see when the autopsy results are out tomorrow"

"We'll see and I'll get out."

"We can offer you immunity if you tell us what you know and protection since people are trying to kill you, who are they?"

"I don't know anything sir, why don't you ask your son? He was there at the party."

"My son had nothing to do with this, don't try to pin your dirt on him."

"I'm not trying to pin anything on anyone, I'm the one who's being falsely accused!"

"I tried helping you, but you don't wanna tell me anything, so I'll give you one more chance overnight to think things through and tomorrow morning I'll be here ready to hear your story." he said as he left the room and Maria sat thinking should she just tell him or maybe he's not from the good guys "Maybe detective Ethan is the He and Liam is actually Ben, they're pretending to be on the police force to be able to do their job and get that heroin without getting caught, but who's Lucy?"

'Can things get any worse? I'm locked in a jail cell and it's terrifying especially that it's night time. plus I really wanna pee, but the toilet is disgusting, I kind of envy guys right now, I certainly can not sit over there!' she thought but eventually she had to use it.

She laid on her back on the floor in her cell, thoughts scattered all over her head "Jessica, Sierra, Cassidy." she kept repeating then she got up and wrote the three names on the wall next to each other "Jessica, Sierra, Cassidy" she repeated again. After a while, she realized that S wasn't the only common letter S-I-A "Sia her real name is Sia which is actually a really cool name"

Soon Maria fell asleep and then it was morning and David came back to visit her "guess what? The autopsy report says she wasn't pushed, you're free to go." he smiled

"Her real names was Sia."

David was startled for a moment but he tried to hide it and continued saying "let's go"

On their way out, Maria saw detective Ethan and detective James talking, James smiled at her while Ethan shot her a scary look she thought "do you think I should tell him the truth?" she asked David.

"His son is one of the suspects, he'd definitely do anything to protect him."

"You're right," she said "But before we go anywhere, there's something I need to do first"

Maria and David took a cab to the address she wanted to visit "Can you please wait for me in the cab? It won't be long I swear."

"Okay babe" he smiled

She got out of the cab, walked to the front door and rang the bell. The door opened, it was Andrew "Hey" he said, "thank God you're out, I was worried."

"I know Andrew! Sierra, Jessica, Cassidy; her real name was Sia and you knew, that why's when I tested you at the bar and said Jessica you were shocked because you knew Sierra wasn't her real name."

"You're very observant Maria."

"I also remember what you said back then, you said you wanted to know who did it because you cared about her, so if you really did, help me now."

"What do you need?"

"What's her full name? the real one I mean."

"Sia Jennifer Brown."

"Sia Brown, SB!"

"What?!"

"Her initials are SB, like Sierra Brook"

"Yeah I guess."

"Ok thank you." she said and left

'He either said that to actually help or to pretend to help' she thought then she grabbed her phone and texted James "Her real name was Sia Jennifer Brown" then she went to the cab.

The cab arrived at the hotel "I thought we should stay here until we figure out things and don't worry I'm staying with you this time." David said

"Ok. but I don't think I'm gonna be welcomed in here, though."

"One of their staff went in to your room to kill you, they should be begging for your forgiveness."

"I guess. Maybe they'd give us a free complimentary couples massage." she raised her eyebrow playfully

"Oh, we're a couple, I totally forgot about that, we haven't had some alone time in a very long time." he smirked

"So you did miss me"

"The pillow wasn't doing a good enough job for me." he laughed "let's take a break for a while from everything happening and just be together."

"Let's get a room you should say." she winked at him and they entered the hotel.

After a while, David was sitting on the bed in the hotel room while Maria was taking a shower in the bathroom. "Maria, you got a message from detective James" he shouted

"What did it say?"

"He says he need to talk to you urgently."

"Ok, I'm coming out in 5, close your eyes."

"Really" he laughed

Maria went outside and dialed James' number, but no one answered, so she texted him "What's going on? Is everything alright?"

A few minutes later, she received a reply "DON'T TRUST DAVID! HE KNEW HER"

"Too late, I'm already with him at the hotel." she replied

Maria was absolutely fear-struck 'Oh my God, David would betray me. I can't believe this is happening, James must be wrong.' she thought

"What's wrong?" he said

"you explain David." she said showing him the message

"I felt so bad not telling you earlier, but I was afraid you'd think I did it. Maria, you know me I didn't do it."

"How do you even know her?"

"That was a very long time ago, more than 10 years ago, we used to go to the same school, she was my best friend, Caleb's, older sister. And yes I hated her back then, but that's it, I haven't seen her in a so long."

"Why did you hate her that much?"

"She was a mean girl, just hate-able, she even used to bully her own brother. But as I just told you, I haven't seen them in ages."

"But you knew from the photos her real name and you could have helped me, but you didn't."

"When you first called me and told me you were staying in Sunset, I came here to surprise you, but then I saw her photos in the news, so I left because it would be suspicious if someone from her past showed up in the city hours after her death."

"I understand David and I'm sure you didn't kill her, but I can't just move on from this; I'm upset, you lied to me and you didn't trust me enough to tell me."

"It's not about trusting you, you know that I do, it's just that...." there was a knock on the door that interrupted his talking, Maria walked to the door to see who it was, it was detective James

"Maria, are you okay?"

"Not really, but safe."

"I was researching Sia and I read she was from Twinbrook, so I remembered when you told me that your boyfriend is from there too, so I researched him and I found out they used to go to the same school."

"I know that story, he told me, but he's innocent detective."

"I have some other stuff, Sia's brother, Caleb, died 2 months ago of a drug overdose."

"That's why she wanted to break out of the business" David came from inside "I believe the three of us can put the pieces together and figure out the whole thing."

They decided to meet at James' apartment in an hours and discuss the case until they know the truth. James left while Maria and David sat to continue their conversation "I'm doing this for you, I promise we'll figure out everything," he said

"Thank you, but I still need more time to get over what happened."

"Take all the time you need, but know that I'm really sorry."

"I know, let's go now." she smiled at him

Maria and David arrived at James' apartment and they all sat together sharing all the information they knew and writing them down trying to find the truth and fill in the blanks till they heard the door bell, so James went to the door to open it, it was detective Ethan.

"What are they doing here?" Ethan asked James about Maria and David

"So what do you wanna talk about?" James asked

"I was here to tell you Keira's been released out of the hospital, now it's your turn to answer, what are they doing her?"

"We're discussing the case, trying to figure out who did it, before they pin it on Maria."

"I wanna know what you know, I want in with you. But James, do you really trust them?"

"I do. Come in," he said allowing him in then he closed the door.

"Tell me what you know," Ethan said directing the question to all of them
