Chloe's POV

"Mom I'm going out!"
I rush down the stairs to say goodbye to my son. He's 16 now and has grown so fast. He's as tall as me and will probably grow even more.
"Ok you got everything?"
He rolls his eyes and sighs as he empties his pockets.
"Keys, ID, phone, yeah I got everything."
"Be home at midnight this time you know how your mother gets."
"Aren't you talking about yourself."
"Shut up."
I pull him in for a hug and give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Be safe."
"Will do. Love you."
"Love you too."
I shut the door behind him and go back to my study.

I drown myself in sketches and paper work until I hear a soft knock on the door.
My 12 year old daughter walks in and God does she look like Max. It scares me especially when she gets angry although she is sassier than her mother. I got to hand it to her she is funny whe she roasts someone especially William.
"You promised to watch a movie."
"Ah shit." I mumble under my breath.
"That's a dollar for the swear jar."
"Did you get super hearing or something?"
She smiles like a devil as she comes closer and observes my work.
"Wonder what mommy would say if she knew you cursed like a sailor around me."
"Well I am a pirate after all but fine. Keep that mouth closed to your mother and I'll give you two dollars."
"5 and we watch a movie in the theatre."
I drop all my work and hang back in my chair considering her offer.
Max wouldn't really care that I swear.
William swears just as much the only time we try to hold it in is when Kate is around.
"Deal."
I shake my daughters hand a grab my jacket. We sneak down the stairs trying to not wake Max, who was sleeping all day bevause she got sick.
"Where do you two think you're going."
"Fuck." I curse under my breath.
Max appears in the door stearing her coffee with a spoon. She leans against the doorpost and demands an explenation with her eyes.
"We were going to the movies."
"I thought you were watching one here."
"That was the original plan but... Kya blackmailed me!"
Max looks at Kya and Kya gives me a deathstare.
"Only because she used a bad word."

Max's POV

This is a classic mother daughter moment. The whole no swearing rule is something me and Chloe did just for the heck of it. When they were little we used to control ourselves but now they are 12 and 16 if they don't hear it from us, then the countless movies they watch will teach them.
"You two are so childish, Kya I get she's only twelve but miss Price you are nearly 42, it's like I adopted a third child."
I sip from my coffee while keeping my eyes on my two beautiful girls.
"A hot child though."
"Ew no don't start this."
We chuckle as Chloe joins my side and gives me a quick kiss.
"You two are disgusting."
"Shut up shorty you love us."
She rolls her eyes but I can see a small smile creeping up under that staged disgust. William used to do this to at her age, everytime Chloe would make one of her jokes he would pretend to throw up. Chloe still did that to her parents till she was 21 but I guess that was just because she didn't really like David back then.
"Are we still going?"
"Why don't you call one of your friends to go with you."
"But ma you promised."
Kya takes her eyes of Chloe and sits down on the stairs.
"I have an idea, tomorrow we go with the family ok even tag William in. I know you would like that because he most likely will have a hangover, he got Max's liver."
Chloe whispered the last part but I kick her against her foot as a sign I heard. She chuckles and pats Kya's shoulder who's face cleared up.
"Ok can I go to Alex?"
"Alex J. or Alex P. ?"
I ask. I know you shouldn't try to forbid your kids from hanging out with some people but trust me if you saw Alex P. you would keep your child as far away from her.
The thing is that kid has some weird fetish with animals. She snapped the neck of their housecat, claimed her baby brother who is only a year old did it, and whenever she's here Anakin starts barking like a maniac.
I have had my fare share of psycho's in this life and I know that when your dog doesn't like someone there's most likely something wrong with them and that girl let's my psycho alarm go off constantly.
"Alex J. , I don't really talk to Alex P. anymore."
Chloe and I immediately feel something is off and sit next to our daughter.
"What happend?"
"She was being mean so I told her to shut up and then she... it doesn't matter."
"Hey it does matter, we are supposed to protect you, what did she do?"
Anakin walks in and rests his head on Kya's knees.
"We were in the kitchen and she grabbed a knife."
The grip on my cup of coffee tightens.
"And then she cut me here."
Kya rolls up the sleeve of her sweater to reveal a large cut on her upper arm. Something in me just snaps.
"I'm going to kill that little animal murdering bitch!"
I run to the kitchen and grab my car keys and rush back to the door.
Chloe grabs me by my shoulder as I see Kya sobbing on the stairs. Which only infuriates me more.
"You can't kill a child Max."
"The hell I can."
"Listen to yourself we aren't 19 and it's not Rachel we are dealing with."
"Alex might as well be her fucking offspring."
Chloe takes the keys from my hands and holds me in an embrace.
"Calm down honey we will solve this on an adult way ok?"
Suddenly I feel tears roll down my cheeks. The fever must be getting to me since I can't think clearly.
Kya joins our hug.
"Don't kill her mom, we could just report her."
"12 years old and already smarter than we were at that age."
Chloe whispers.
All I want to do is protect my family. Yes I snapped but what if that cut was aimed higher, what if that bitch slit her throat. I will hurt her if she touches my daughter again.
No one hurts my family!
