Max's POV

Nathan growls at the sight of Chloe disappearing into the distance. She's simply faster than him, his ego might be too heavy to properly run.
I wonder why Nathan knows Chloe, it can't be for anything good that's for sure. I have never seen him this angry.
Oh God he's storming my way.
I try to turn around but his hand is already on my shoulders.
"Where do you think you're going."
I swallow. He's awfully close to my face and stares into my eyes with rage.
"My dorm."
I reply, a bit sarcastic. Damnit Max don't fuck with Nathan Prescott, he owns your ass. I should be more careful, he seems... unstable.
"Are you friends with that punk whore."
I smack Nathan's hand off my shoulder and take a step back. He's surprised by my violent response but balds his fists in anger; ready to strike.
"Why would you care."
"Because that bitch owes me a shit ton of money and I want it back."
He walks closer to me while raising his voice.
"Maybe you should not storm towards her ready to beat her up."
Nathan's fingers wrap themselves around my neck. I can feel all the air slowly leaving my body. I claw at his hands but his grip only grows stronger. Until I scratch his face and he screams.
I try to regain my breath but am only able to cough. Nathan is ready to punch me when a deep voice screams.
"What the hell is going on here!"
Mister Jefferson runs up to us and jumps inbetween the fight that was about to go down.
Holy shit, I didn't even know anyone could see us, I thought I was dead.
Jefferson holds Nathan back and whispers something in his ears. Nathan's eyes fall to the ground and his arms rest next to his body.
He sighs and slumps away as if his father just gave him a lecture. What the fuck just happend.
Mister Jefferson kneels in front of me and helps me up.
"Are you okay?"
He asks.
I rub my neck, it's still sore from Nathan's firm grip. It will definitely leave a bruise.
"I'm fine. What did you say to him."
Nosey Max back at it again. I can't control myself, I have to know.
"Only that he shouldn't be picking fights with the new students. Are you sure you are fine. I can take you to the nurse."
I shake my head.
"No thank you mister Jefferson, I'd like to go to my dorm now, where it's safe."
He top his glasses and nods.
"Alright, but don't think this will go unnoticed. I'll keep my eye on Nathan Prescott."
"Thank you mister Jefferson, that helps."
He walks away with a weird look on his face, one I haven't seen in any of his lessons before.
I shake the claustrophobic feeling of suffocation off me and walk towards my dorm. My knees feel week and walking alone seems to take a lot of energy. I have never feared more for my life than a few minutes ago, this was horrifying. What the hell did Chloe do to piss him of so bad?

Chloe's POV

Holy shit that was close.
I knew I should've stayed in the car. Nathan Presscock has eyes and ears everywhere. I should've thought sit through but all I can think about is Max. Ah fuck I hope Nathan didn't threaten heror aything because she knows me. Maybe I should go back?
No, Nathan probbly raged and swore to the sky but he wouldn't harass Max right?
What am I thinking of course he would. Fucking entitled asshole.
I turn the car around with a dangerous manoeuvre, nearly crashing into the traffic.
A few horns scream loudly and several others flip me off.
I just shake I off and speed back to Blackwell.
I know that I shouldn't have gotten involved with Arcadia's beloved Prescott's. They are the worst of the worst, Nathan thinks he owns people because he owns buildings.
That kid has some serious issues and I have to start fixing the problem he hs with me. How the hell do I get two thousand dollars in a week. I'm not planning to sell my organs, although living with one kidney doesn't seem so bad. For fucks sake I'm not really considering selling my intestines am I?
Yes I am, God how did it come so far.
I park my car a few streets away from Blackwell academy and take my black hoodie from the backseat.
I text Max to see if she's fine while already walking towards Blackwell.
"I'm comin back, shouldn't have left u alone with that dick"

She replies immediately, her nickname appearing on my screens relieves me.
"He started threatening me but I'm okay. Save in my dorm now"
Reading that he threatened her makes me fasten my pace. All I wanted was my best friend back and now I am getting her into trouble.
"Be there in five, sorry again."
"It's fine"

I throw stones at Max's window.
It feels like I'm standing at Rachel's dorm though. It used to be a sweet memory, now it's just painful. Our friendship has certainly taken an official shit. I want to b able to talk with Max about it but I also don't want to make it official that we are no longer friends by talking about it.
I don't even know where Rachel is hiding out which hasbeen bothering me for a few weeks now.

Max opens her window and stares down at me.
"Seriously?"
She asks raising an eyebrow.
"Rapunsel! Rapunsel! Please drop your golden locks so I can climb this hella long tower."
Max smiles and shakes her head while giggling.
"Just go through the front door, Nathan is gone."
"You're so boring! Where's that thirst for adventure."
"I've had enough adventure for today. Hurry your ass up here."
"Okay, be right there."

Even though I know Nathan won't be jumping me when I turn this corner, I still feel a bit uncomfortable, walking the dorm grounds again without being chased down by Nathan or step-führer is just unnatural.
Seems like yesterday that I was a student here, of course I don't really miss it.
The people are shit and the teachers are all sensitive. You flip them off one time and they already report you to the principal as if you're a damn criminal.
I hope Max is having a better time here than I had, atleast she has me to keep things interesting.
Especially if that scumbag Nathan touched her. I will fucking end his life, that's a promise I'll keep.

Boom, this will probably have 1 more chapter and then I'm going to do a fast forward to another event.
Again I'll mention where in the fanfic it exactly plays off.

In other news, I was scrolling through some comments and someone was talking about making a fanfiction where Kate is basically super jealous of everyone trying to get near Max. In the AU Kate also kills those people which is super brutal! I encouraged the idea and that person actually wrote a fanfic about it.
