Back at the Police Department

[17 December 2038 Morning
Gavin: Hostile
Connor: Warm
Hank: Tense]

It was 06:47:04 in the morning when RK900 entered the police department.

He had arrived very late at Cyberlife tower the other day and the damage from the bullet had caused an internal leak which ended up making most of the arm unuseful. They had to find a new entirely arm for him.

Only seconds after entering the police department RK900 noticed that detective Reed hasn't arrived yet, and despite the fact that he has only known him for a day RK900 relied on his assumption that it was going to be a while until the detective arrives.

He walked over to an empty desk, grabbed the chair, dragged it over to detective Reed's desk and sat down.

There weren't many people here early in the morning but he was somewhat surprised to see that Connor had yet to arrive.

Because Connor was an android he thought that he would be here.

He had been here yesterday quite early with lieutenant Anderson. All three of them had a short chat which left the lieutenant uncomfortable and irritated. He had left for a drink break and left an upset Connor behind.

RK900 sat in the chair motionless for about an hour and a half before someone of interest arrived.

To nobodies surprise, it wasn't detective Reed.

Lieutenant Anderson was the first one to enter, walking with long and quick steps. Behind him was Connor practically jogging and shouting lieutenant Anderson's name over and over.

Without a second of hesitation, RK900 stood up and walked over to them.

"It's good for you Hank," Connor complained, trying to give him a water bottle with some green liquid.

"It's good for the trash can," he replied and rolled his eyes at Connor.

Both were so busy with their fight that RK900 stood there for a solid minute before they noticed him.

"Hey, your clone is here Connor," the lieutenant said and turned around.

Connor looked at him and smiled. "Hi, Nines. How is it going?" he asked.

"Fine, I suppose. I was shot yesterday though. Had to get my arm replaced,"

Lieutenant Anderson groaned.

"That's unfortunate, it's good to see you here though. How is it going with finding a name by the way?"

"No progress so far. I guess I could just pick a name and use it, but I want it to be special for some reason,"

Lieutenant Anderson looked over his shoulder at them. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"I mean similar to how a parent gives the name to their child,"

"But Nines you don't have any parents," Connor explained. "Yeah, the closest you have is Captain Fowler, and he's not gonna give you a name,"

RK900 looked away for a second. He wanted a name and the sooner, the better.

"Do you mind giving me my name lieutenant Anderson?" RK900 asked him.

Connor: Warm+]

Lieutenant Anderson shook his head confused.

"Why do you want me to give you your name?"

"Well, you're the oldest and the one with the highest position here,"

Lieutenant Anderson looked at Connor who just shrugged in return. "Fine,"

"I might as well. Okay...RK...um, how about Richard?" he suggested.

RK900 thought about it for a moment, then nodded once.

[Name Acquired: Richard]

Just as Connor placed his hand on lieutenant Anderson's shoulder detective Reed finally arrived.

Richard looked over his shoulder when loud chattering came from the entrance.

He was walking with an unknown woman.

Richard watched as Detective Reed talked to the woman. His tone seemed more cheerful than yesterday.

Maybe they were friends.

"That's Tina Chen. The only person that still enjoys talking to Reed, " Lieutenant Anderson explained.

"What's their relationship status?"

"Childhood best friends. Chen is the oldest,"

Detective Reed and officer Chen both headed to the break room to get a coffee.

"Speaking of Reed, how is it going between you?"

Richard looked at Connor and sighed.

"As you probably could imagine, not particularly great. He insulted me from the second we met and hasn't stopped since. I even saved his life and he didn't care if I had just shut down right there,"

Nighter of them looked particularly concerned by what he just said.

"Hank and I didn't start out really different. Just try to find something that interests him, " Connor advised him.

"I'm sure you'll do fine brother,"

"Not your brother, "

Connor looked disappointed so Richard hit him lightly in the shoulder and left them themselves.

They started fighting again.

Officer Chen and detective Reed had moved away from the coffee machine and are standing by a table.

They were talking cheerfully and joking around.

"Look who's here, " detective Reed started. "Mr Dickhead and his-"

"Actually I have a name now. It's Richard, " he said pointing at his chest.

[Gavin: Hostile+

Relationship status:Tense]

The writing on the left side of his chest was switching between his model number and his name.

Detective Reed smiled. "Then I guess it's just 'dick' now,"

[Nickname acquired: Dick
...
Respond if addressed by: Gavin Reed]

Richard didn't reply to his comment.

"Well, I should really begin working now, " Officer Chen said.

She got up and began leaving, smiling at Richard as she left the room.

He looked back at detective Reed, he was looking down into the table and just sipping from his cup.

"You might want to hurry up so we can start working detective," Richard explained to him.

"If you're in such a hurry, why don't you just start by yourself?"

"I am unable to do that. You deactivated that part of my system to make sure there was no possibility for you to lose your job. Remember?"

"Then I guess you'll just have to wait," detective Reed said and winked with both eyes.

Richard waited twenty one minutes before detective Reed was done with his coffee. He then had to clean up after him since detective Reed didn't want to himself.

He sat down in the chair next to detective Reeds desk. He was looking through new cases on his computer and didn't pay attention to Richard.

"You should clean up after yourself, detective," he told him with a sharp tone in his voice.

"Yeah, whatever," detective Reed responded.

He then shut off the computer and looked at Richard. "Wintersun Lane 34 now,"

Detective Reed got up and began heading toward the entrance leaving Richard confused. He then looked over his shoulder and saw Richard's expression.

"It's a murder, only humans. Now get a move Tin can,"

Richard got up and followed detective Reed, passing Connor on the way out.

>This is why I don't want to turn deviant<

Connor chuckled. >We'll see about that<

RK900 finally got a name. I know many people are split on what to call him, but I've decided on "Richard". Hope that doesn't bother too many people.
