BlueSteel
BlueSteel was a simple advertising agency.
It hosted quite a few agents, though despite its many locations scattered around Japan, no one had ever actually heard of any of their work.
Still, they seemed to be thriving enough to stay in business.
Well, that's at least how it appeared to any normal outsider.
This, of course, was only a facade that concealed the real work that went on in the building.
If the authorities were aware that BlueSteel was actually a large, multimillion dollar crime agency, they would have quite the problem on their hands.
In order to have an office available to all the workers the agency employed, they needed a cover up that wouldn't have to stay in the shadows of society.
An advertising agency seemed appropriate.
Things would remain in tact as long as all the agents were able to keep their identities confidential during every job.
One might think it would be difficult to get a job at a crime agency, but at one as big as BlueSteel, the demand for agents is actually quite high.
Of course, it's not as if there's a poster on every corner of every street asking people if they need a crime committed in their place.
Most of BlueSteel's customers come from the deep and dark web, where most criminal businesses operate from.
It's a surprisingly common profession, and BlueSteel's the best in the area for it.
The boss built it from the ground, hiring those like him who hadn't exactly been the most fortunate ones of society.
Most of the agents had actually been unemployed beforehand, and BlueSteel had been their last chance.
It took a lot of patience, and a lot of training, but they soon found that crime was something they excelled at.
Before anyone could turn around twice, the company had risen to the top.
Many people had actually been taken by surprise that a brand new agency like BlueSteel could excel so quickly.
In fact, it brought along many questions about how such a thing was possible.
The boss's response was always something along the lines of, "It's all in the effort of the work."
Of course, there was more to it than just hard work.
What's the point of working hard without a motivation?
The agents work hard for the sake of becoming number one at BlueSteel.
Who wouldn't want to be the top agent at a large agency?
The higher in the ranks you are, the more complex of jobs you receive, which usually calls for more cash too.
Those who are number one work hard to maintain their spot.
The boss created a ranking system with this fact in mind.
If the agents continued to work hard, then BlueSteel would maintain its position on top as well.
Clearly, it worked.
It had been quite a few years now since BlueSteel had been formed, and they employed many agents.
Now it was time they employed another...
She was a genius... possibly a prodigy of her time.
"Agent McGarden... welcome to BlueSteel. We look forward to working with you."
