Chapter 8

Jimmy secretly scowled to himself as they walked back up the stairs and into the apartment. He hated acting so weird, but he knew that in order for things to go his way he had to. That, and Gavin's blood smelled amazing. The Brit must've thought he was a real idiot. Jimmy sighed, forcing himself to cheer up.

"We're back!" he squeaked, pushing the door open.

"Everything alright?" Johnny asked. He nodded.

"Yep. We just talked for a bit, and now everything's all good."

"That's good. Come, sit down. We have all the cards set up."

The two sat as they were told, Jimmy cuddling into Gregory's side. They began to play the game, and he soon became confused. He had never been good at anything math related, and this game was no exception! But he didn't say anything. He could tell that everyone was having fun. Even Gavin had a small smirk on his face. Jimmy couldn't help but smile himself. It was kind of nice to just sit back, relax, and have not so murderous fun... not to say that he didn't still enjoy killing.

"Jimmy? You good?" Gregory asked after a moment.

"Yep. Why?"

"You were being weirdly quiet."

"I'm ok, Greg. I was just thinking about stuff." Jimmy purred. His twin just looked at him for a second before nodding.

"Well ok then... how is your hand? Your cards, I mean."

Jimmy looked down at his cards, shrugging.

"I don't know. I think they're ok."

"... can I look? I won't cheat, I promise!"

Jimmy nodded, showing him. Gregory took a glance, nodding slowly.

"Those are pretty good. Would you like another card?"

"... do I?"

"You're trying to get to 21."

Jimmy looked down at his cards. He wasn't sure if he just wasn't able to read it or if there was something wrong with his eyes, but he just had no idea what the cards said.

"Umm I'll take another card, I guess."

"Cool. Now, do you want another card or are you gonna stay?" Gregory asked, passing him the little piece of cardstock. Jimmy shrugged.

"I'll stay."

The game continued, and he just got more confused. He just pretended to know what was going on to save himself the embarrassment. After a few more rounds they stopped, deciding that it was time to start getting ready for dinner. Jimmy was surprised by this. Time had gone so fast! Maybe he was having more fun than he thought.

"Hey Jimmy... would you be ok if I ran a few tests on you?" Gregory questioned. This shocked the killer.

"... what?"

"A blood test, maybe monitor your brain for a bit?"

Jimmy just stared at him for a minute. He had no clue whether this guy was joking or not. He knew he shouldn't be nervous, but he was. Just what was he planning?

"W-why?"

"Just-... just trust me. We'll be all done before dinner. Please?"

"... you know trust is just an act, right Gregory?"

His brother just stared at him, a weird look on his face. Jimmy rolled his eyes.

"Ok ok, fine. Chill out. Lead the way." the killer sighed. The two moved down the hallway, entering the bedroom. Gregory had him sit on the edge of the bed, pulling up a chair for himself. He grabbed a surprisingly large bag from the nearby nightstand. Jimmy jumped when a mechanism was placed on his head. The object was connected to a small box that had a screen.

"Try to relax, Jimmy. This little thingy I have hooked up to your head monitors your brain waves, and displays them on this screen here. It won't hurt too bad, especially compared to some of the things you've endured before! Now, take a deep breath."

Jimmy did as he was told, gasping when a jolt of electricity surged through him. It didn't hurt too bad, it was just a weird feeling. A really weird feeling. He tried not to show that he was nervous, but the scanner gave him away.

"Sorry, man. I-I'm trying to relax." he whimpered. The man gave him a small smile.

"It's fine. Your brain seems pretty normal, but I'll record them now and analyze them more later."

Jimmy nodded. That made him feel a little bit better about the whole situation.

"Ok. ... so, I have a normal brain huh?"

"From what I can see. I've monitored Johnny's brain before too, and his was weirder than yours! I'm pretty sure he was drunk though... again." Gregory mumbled.

"He gets drunk a lot?"

"Yeah... b-but that's ok! I guess that since we share the same room it's a little more noticeable now."

"Oh. I mean, Gavin smokes those gross stick things a lot, but that doesn't really make him act any different after he does it. ... what about you?"

"Hmm?"

"Like, do you smoke or drink bad stuff?"

Gregory just frowned, shaking his head.

"No, I don't. Do you?"

Jimmy shrugged.

"I like apple juice. Gavin says it's bad because it has too much sugar."

His brother just chuckled at this, shaking his head. After another minute or so, the item was removed from his head. Jimmy ran his hands through his hair, thankful that it was all still there. He was about to say something when Gregory pulled out a syringe and a vial. This was going to be a bumpy ride.
