Chapter 4

"Now then. Once more."

"But father, I'm tired! Couldn't we just pick up where we leave off tomorrow?"

The man looked up at him, a frown forming on his face. His icy blue eyes were filled with an array of emotions, but most notably, frustration.

"We've discussed this, Gavin. It is imperative that I get this data by tonight. Now do as your told!"

Gavin let out a quiet sigh, pointing his hand towards the wooden block in front of him. He thought that he felt something, but after a few minutes of nothing, he lowered his hand.

"I-... I can't do it." Gavin whispered, looking over. His dad looked pissed now.

"and why can't you?! We've only been at this for an hour! My god, you are so useless!"

"W-wait! I-I'm sorry!"

The man stood up, beginning to move towards him. Gavin whimpered, backing up. He put his hands up in defense, and as he did so, the adults shirt caught fire. Gavin just stared, letting out a nervous giggle while his dad hurriedly extinguished himself.

"What the-... you think you're being funny, huh? You little-"

A swift motion sent his head moving to the side, and a gasp to escape his mouth. There was no getting out of this now.

Gavin let out a scream of terror as he fell out of bed and onto the floor. He soon got over the shock, cursing as he sat up. He looked around. It was cold, and he was all alone. Typical. Gavin's mind began to race, dark thoughts filling his head. Why the hell did he keep having these stupid dreams? His dad was dead, and had been for years. It was frustrating, annoying, and depressing. The more he thought about it, the more upset he became. Gavin couldn't stop the tears from slipping out. He buried his face into his hands, an involuntary sob wracking his body. He felt so weak. Gavin just hoped that Jimmy couldn't hear him. After a few minutes, the tears finally stopped. He stood up, grabbing his lighter and a pack of cigarettes before heading outside. He lit up, taking a long draw before letting out a quiet sigh. Gavin knew that he really needed to stop smoking whenever he was stressed. He jumped when he heard footsteps from behind him. He turned, quickly pulling out his gun. Before he knew it, he was disarmed and pressed against the garage door. It was just Jimmy.

"Trying to kill me again, huh Gav?" he asked, his head tipping to the side.

"Not really. You just startled me. Now let me go so I can finish."

"Ugh! Fine!"

Jimmy did as requested, letting him go. The killer stood next to him, clearly trying to hold in his energy as he jittered and jumped around. Gavin knew that Jimmy got a bit crazier at this time of night. That, and he was probably cold. He was wearing nothing but a t-shrit and a pair of sweat pants he had cut into shorts.

"... quit staring at me."

"It's kinda hard not to stare when you're shirtless, Gav." Jimmy told him, shrugging.

"You're so gay that it's insulting, Casket."

"Thanks~"

The Brit just rolled his eyes, looking away to hide the fact that he was actually blushing. After a few minutes he finished his cigarette, walking back inside. The younger man followed close behind him, humming quietly. He turned to Jimmy.

"I'm going back to bed now, and you should to. You need to sleep more."

"But I don't wanna go to bed! I wanna run around and play!"

"You have bags the size of Canada under your eyes. Go to bed."

"... who? ... you know what, that doesn't matter! You can't make me!" Jimmy squeaked. With that, he was off, sprinting down the hall. Gavin let out a frustrated huff, jogging after him. He didn't sign up for this... ok... he kind of did by letting him live there, but still.

"Come on, Casket! I want to go back to bed!"

"Come find me then!" he heard the killer giggle from the storage room. Gavin walked in, looking around. The area was quite small, meaning that the killer was probably going to be quite easy to find. His suspicions were correct. Gavin spotted Jimmy hiding in the corner behind some boxes. He sighed, walking over. This caused Jimmy to let out a squeak.

"I found you. Now come on." Gavin sighed, holding out his hand. The younger man hissed, smacking him away. He rolled his eyes, ignoring the hits. Gavin reached forward, scooping Jimmy up into his arms. He carried him back down the hall and to the killers room, setting him down on the bed. Jimmy complained, of course, but Gavin didn't care. He covered him with the blanket.

"Awww! You didn't tell me that you were going to tuck me in!"

"... is that all you wanted?"

"Not really, but that's ok! I feel all warm and fuzzy now!"

"Lovely. Goodnight."

Gavin was about to leave the room when Jimmy suddenly grabbed his arm.

" ... can you stay until I fall asleep?"

"What? Why?"

"Because I have a hard time sleeping when I'm alone."

"Then how do you get any sleep?" Gavin questioned, frowning.

"I don't."

"... ok. Fine."

Gavin sat down on the edge of the bed, and the killer cuddled into his pillows. Jimmy continued to whisper to him, his voice getting softer and his talking less frequent. In minutes he heard Jimmy begin to snore. Gavin sighed, actually feeling pretty comfortable. He soon joined his friend in sleep.
