Chapter 13
Jimmy woke up in his own bed, which worried him greatly. He didn't recall falling asleep in his room. In fact, he didn't recall falling asleep at all. He sat up.
"Gavin?" Jimmy called. There was no response. He was upset by this, so he grabbed his knife before stepping out into the hall. It was dark, and eerily quiet. Being sure to keep his footing light and precise, he looked into Gavin's room, frowning when he saw that the Brit wasn't there. Jimmy checked the kitchen, the living room, and the storage room. At last, he came to the basement door. He opened it slowly, wincing when a bright light appeared in his face.
"Gav? Are you down there?"
"Yep! Come on down."
Jimmy did as he was told, walking down the creaky wooden stairs. Gavin was sitting at an old table, which was right next to the washer and drier. Thankfully, they weren't on. Otherwise they both would've been deaf by now.
"What are you doing down here and why did I wake up in my bed?" Jimmy questioned.
"Well you fell asleep on the couch and didn't wake up, so I put you in your bed. As for what I'm doing... it's nothing important. Just a little project of mine."
"Can I see?"
Gavin nodded. Jimmy walked over, looking at he paper. On it was a drawing with lots of little words on it. Needless to say, he had no clue what it was.
"Do you know what it is, Casket?"
"No. Am I supposed to?"
"Nope, I was just wondering if you would. Don't worry about it." Gavin sighed. Jimmy nodded slowly.
"Ok... well why are you down here?"
"Because I-... I... I guess I don't know."
"Well come upstairs with me then! I wanna go back to bed!" Jimmy told him. The Brit's eyes narrowed.
"Why can't you go upstairs by yourself? Are you scared or something?" he questioned. The killer frowned.
"No way! I just don't want you to stay down here and get all spooky. Come on!"
Jimmy grabbed the older man by the arm, pulling. The giant slowly stood, allowing himself to be led upstairs. He brought Gavin through the living room and into his own bed room. He quickly laid down, looking up at his friend expectantly.
"... well? What now?"
"You already know!"
"Not really."
Jimmy rolled his eyes, letting out a huff.
"Tuck me in, man!" he hissed. Gavin just nodded slowly, pulling the blanket all the way up to his chin, tucking him in nice and snug. He giggled as the Brit sat on the edge of his bed, just like the other night. He wondered if Gavin was going to share the bed with him again tonight. In fact, he actually kind of hoped that he did. Jimmy smiled when the older man reached forward, brushing the hair out of his eyes for him.
"Are you happy now, Casket?" Gavin asked. He nodded quickly.
"Yes. Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Jimmy grabbed his friends giant hand, fighting off the urge to bite his fingers off. He liked how warm the man was, and giggled when he got an idea.
"Hey Gav... I have an idea." he told him. Gavin looked a bit worried.
"What is it?"
"You should cuddle with me."
The Brit's eyes widened, and his face turned red. He looked like he was gonna say something, but he didn't, instead staying silent. He just nodded slowly. Jimmy watched as he moved, hesitantly resting next to him. The killer smiled, snuggling into his side. After a minute or so the man spoke up.
"I trust that you're going to sleep now. ... it's a good thing that I'm wearing socks. Just don't do anything weird, alright?" Gavin mumbled, looking down at him. Jimmy nodded, not really sure about what the significance of his friends socks were. He decided not to ask.
"I won't! Don't worry about it. Just go to sleep."
The older man closed his eyes, eventually actually falling asleep. Jimmy could hear him begin to snore quietly, signaling that he wasn't pretending. Now that he was asleep, the killer adjusted so that he was kind of hugging Gavin, enjoying his body heat. Jimmy was always cold for one reason or another. He listened carefully, smiling when he could hear Gavin's heart beating. He was about to fall asleep when he heard a whisper from behind him. Jimmy rolled over, his eyes wide when he came face to face with a dark figure.
"... hi." he whispered.
"Hello. Don't mind me, Jimmy." the figure told him. His eyes immediately shot over to the nightstand where his knife was sitting. Instead of trying to kill the creature, however, he hid his face and covered his ears. He gasped when he felt a cold hand on his ankle. Curling up against Gavin even tighter, he forced himself to go to sleep.
