Chapter 12

Gavin wanted nothing more than to do a barrel role out of the car. He knew he would probably break a bone or two, but he didn't care. Jimmy had been whining and blabbing for minutes on end, and it was driving him insane. He let out a frustrated huff when the killer began to talk again.

"Gavinnnnn!"

"What?!"

"Can we stop and get some candy on the way home?"

"No, Casket."

"Why not?!" Jimmy whimpered. Gavin rolled his eyes, trying his best not to lose his temper. He took a deep breath.

"Because you don't have anything to disguise yourself! If we go to the store, someone will recognize you and the cops will be called. Is that really something you want?" he questioned. Jimmy slowly shook his head.

"I guess not..."

The killer slouched back into his seat, letting out a little sigh. He looked so sad, and just to emphasize how upset he was, the boy gave him a childish pout. Gavin actually felt a bit guilty. After a minute or so of listening to Jimmy's exaggerated sighs, he finally gave in.

"Listen... I'll buy you a sweet if you promise to stay in the car. You must keep your hood up and your head down until I come back. Deal?" he questioned. Jimmy immediately perked up, a big smile on his face.

"Deal!"

Gavin soon pulled into the parking lot of a small convenience store that was close to their house. They weren't exactly in the best part of town, so he grabbed his gun from the center console before turning to Jimmy.

"What do you want?"

"I... I want chocolate! I don't care what kind."

Gavin nodded, locking the vehicle. He entered the store, purposely ignoring the cashier as he made a b-line to the candy aisle. He quickly scanned the area, deciding to go with the most basic option, a plain chocolate bar. It was also pretty cheap, which pleased him greatly. Gavin loved saving money. He walked up to the counter, pulling out his wallet.

"Is this all, mister?" the teen behind the counter asked. Gavin nodded, handing him the dollar. The transaction quickly ended, and he returned to his friend in the car. He could hear Jimmy giggling and squeaking before he even opened the door. Gavin rolled his eyes.

"Calm down, freak. I got your candy." he sighed, handing him the food. Jimmy ate it in seconds. They soon got home, and Gavin watched as Jimmy ran into the house. The killer flopped onto the couch, letting out a brain melting screech. He was already hyper, and Gavin was already regretting his discussion.

"Thank you Gav! Thank you sooooo much!"

"You're welcome. Now be quiet down before I lock you in your room!"

"What the-?! You're gonna put me in a time out?!"

"If you continue to be loud, yes."

Jimmy looked shocked. He went quiet for a moment. Gavin knew that the younger man must have been thinking hard, as indicated by the look on his pale freckled face. After a couple more minutes, the American just smiled, standing. He pranced over to Gavin, stopping right in front of him. Jimmy looked up at him with big eyes, bouncing on his heels. After a moment, the man spoke.

"Hey Gavin."

"What?"

Without saying anything, Jimmy pulled him into a surprisingly tight hug. Gavin's eyes widened, and his cheeks turned red. He slowly hugged him back. Jimmy looked up at him, not yet pulling away.

"Thank you for taking me to see Gregory today. It really means a lot to me." he purred. Gavin smirked, petting the killers messy brown hair.

"It was no trouble at all, Casket. I-... I like seeing you so happy."

"... you do?"

"Of course I do."

Jimmy gave him a big grin. He buried his face into Gavin's chest once more, which muffled whatever it was that he was saying. The Brit just hoped that it wasn't something important. After a minute, the two pulled away from each other. Jimmy returned to the couch, and Gavin went to the kitchen to prepare himself a cup of tea. He normally wouldn't do this, but Johnny had got him hooked on it today. Especially green tea. Gavin always had a stash hidden in the back of the tallest cabinet. He grabbed a couple of mugs, unsure if Jimmy wanted any. He boiled some water, quietly humming to himself while he did. He finished making the drinks, carefully carrying them into the living room. Gavin placed them on the coffee table, looking up. Jimmy was sprawled out on the couch, asleep. He quiet snores filled the room. Gavin smiled a bit, sitting on the part of the sofa that wasn't taken. He would stay quiet... for now.
