Chapter 11
Johnny sighed as he watched their guests cleaned up their dishes, collected their belongings, and slipped on their shoes. Time had gone surprisingly fast, and although some light banter had been exchanged, he very was thankful that Gavin had come over. It had been a few years since he had spent actual quality time with his twin. Ghost and Jimmy hugged each other tight.
"It was so good to see you, Jimmy!"
"It was good to see you too! I wish I could stay longer. ... can you walk me out to the car?" the killer asked. Ghost nodded.
"Yep! Take your time, you two. We'll be downstairs."
The small men left, leaving them alone. It was clear that Gavin was uncomfortable, and Johnny completely understood why. He took a deep breath before speaking.
"... it was nice spending time with you today."
"Yeah..."
Johnny frowned a bit. It almost seemed as though his fellow Brit didn't believe him. It was heartbreaking.
"I'm being serious, Gavin. I-I... I missed you a lot. If-... if you'd to 'hang out' again sometime, I would be more than happy to make plans with you."
Gavin nodded slowly, his cheeks turning pink for reasons unbeknownst to the both of them.
"Well, I think I would like to hang out again some time. ... when?"
"Whenever you'd like. Actually, Jenny going to be visiting soon. We're going to be meeting at mother's house, and we would love it if you were there." Johnny told him. Gavin scoffed, smirking a bit.
"If you really think that they'd welcome me, then I guess I'll come. I know that Jenny doesn't exactly approve of my lifestyle."
Johnny nodded, knowing that Gavin was right. His siblings had never really liked each other, and now that Jenny was a cop, they really didn't get along. The real reason he invited Gavin was to be able to hang out with him, as well as get him to visit their mother. Every time Johnny went over there, the woman always mentioned how much she missed him.
"... I guess I ought to walk you out the parking lot now. I'll text you the details later tonight."
The two walked down the stairs and joined the younger twins next to his brothers old beat up truck. Jimmy had crawled into the bed, peeking over the side. Gavin's eyes widened.
"What the-?! Just what the hell are you doing back there?"
"Playing!"
"Well stop! It's rusty, and I don't want to have to take you to the doctor for a tetanus shot!"
Jimmy frowned a bit.
"Tet-who?"
"Just get out, man!" he snarled. Johnny watched as Gavin reached forward, lifting Jimmy up and out. The killer giggled wildly, kicking his feet before he was set down. Ghost looked almost as amused as Johnny felt.
"That was fun! Again, Gav, again!" Jimmy squeaked. Johnny laughed, and Gavin rolled his eyes. The four soon said their final goodbyes, and the paranormal investigators went back upstairs. Ghost turned to Johnny, a smile on his face.
"So, what did you two talk about after Jimmy and I when downstairs?"
"Nothing much. I just told him that he was welcome to come with me to my mothers house next week when Jenny gets here." he explained. His friend nodded.
"Sounds... tedious."
"Yeah. I really just think that Gavin would benefit from spending some time with family. I just hope the experience will be positive... he really needs it. Do you think that it'll go good?"
"Yes, I do. As long as you can keep things civil between him and Jenny."
Johnny nodded. That would be an amazing feat. Gavin was one stubborn guy. Then again, Jenny was even more tough to deal with. That woman was set in her ways, and no one expect maybe their mother could change her mind on literally anything.
"I'm sure it'll be fine."
"Yeah... so, what were those tests that you ran on Jimmy? I noticed that he had a bandaid on his arm."
"I just collected some blood and monitored his brain."
"And?"
"I haven't analyzed the blood yet, but the brain waves... something is off about him." Ghost sighed. Johnny frowned a bit.
"Well he's a poltergeist or something, right? I remember him mentioning many times that he passed away when he was 10."
"That's the problem, Johnny! The test says that he's alive!"
"What?! How is that possible?!"
"I-I don't know. We need to test the his blood as soon as possible! Look at the ectoplasm levels and such."
Johnny nodded, and the two moved to the back of the apartment. Ghost grabbed the vial, bringing it to their 'office'. It was basically where they kept all of their ghost hunting equipment and other gadgets. Johnny couldn't contain his nervousness any longer. Just who was his brother living with?
