Saved?

Yao had lost track of time a while back.

Were they going to die of "natural causes" too? He smirked to himself feeling Kiku's hair which have clumped together from his constant feeling which reminded that someone was with him. This darkness was enough to drive any man insane.

"Yao san, stop it." Kiku croaked but not doing anything to stop the other.

Every muscle he moved shot alarming amounts of pain to his brain. He must've broken something without knowing...

But most of all was the darkness which closed in on him...

He couldn't see anything!

He was so blind...

So blind again...

--Flashback—

"Pochi?" Kiku felt around, his guide dog whimpered and struggled trying to get back to his master.

"Pochi! Where are you? I can't see... I can't see you..." Kiku fought back his tears stumbling forward for a step before shoved to the wall by a hand.

The little dog yipped and whined trying to escape its restraint.

All Kiku could see was darkness, a darkness of colours so blaring they mounded together and became a black hole. Just like how a sun becomes a black hole, even the sun, the warmest, brightest being becomes such a greedy, engulfing black hole.

"Aww, looks like our little blind boy doesn't want to have some fun."

Kiku whipped his head towards the snide voice.

"Get away from me! Where's my dog? Give him back to me!"

But all his voice seemed futile, all that surrounded him was a black hole that sucked the very meaning of his words, his actions, his being into oblivion.

He was so useless...

Another pair of hands pushed him to the ground of the filthy, unlit alley way.

"But I have different plans... How do you say if I hurt your furry little friend. Like you know, cut a piece of his ear off... Or, oh I know! A tooth would be a great souvenir... what else do I want from you guys..."

The snide voice sounded again having Kiku recognizing that the voice was from the leader.

"Please, please give me back my dog!" Kiku begged, getting up before being kicked to the ground.

"You stay down there where you belong, if you don't want us to play with your dog then you be the dog."

Kiku froze...

Was this worth it? He didn't know what would happen to him if he let himself be at the mercy of the men...

"I'm so sorry pochi..."

Kiku couldn't help himself from crying and gasping for air as he stumbled away from the dark alley. He couldn't keep in the hiccupping sobs anymore.

He bumped into people and almost fell many times, but it didn't matter anymore. He just wanted to get away from there.

He had left Pochi for his own safety. He felt his heart beating violently as if wanting to crack his rib cages. But none of this stopped him.

Someone, anyone, please save me from all this!!

--End of flashback—

Yao furrowed his brows feeling Kiku's forehead.

It was burning to the touch and that could only mean one thing.

Kiku had caught a fever.

That would make sense, the lack of rest, the coldness of this room and most of all, a bad memory of darkness.

All these adds up to the malfunctioning of the immune system.

Yao tried walking around the room to feel for something that could help, but there was nothing in here, nothing but the weight of the pure darkness.

They had made absolutely no progress on this case and now they're probably going to be driven insane by the darkness and tight space.

Yao couldn't help but start chuckling wryly and quietly to himself as he slammed on the door in one last desperate attempt with all his might.

"Is someone in here?" Suddenly, a hazel haired boy with a dazed look opened the door slowly. He looked down before taking a step back and gasping with wide eyes.

"Please... Help my friend, he has a fever and I'm losing him." Yao rasped leaning on the door before collapsing onto the floor and into the light.

Hey! Guess who's back with more crappy fanfics?? (Points at myself) I got really really obsessed with Sherlock and now I'm like "Hey, I think I can finally start writing a mystery!" So here I am, back after six month. This chapter's really short but I'll try to write more for next update. Anyways, whoever is still reading, I owe you guys an enormous apology and endless gratitude. So until next time~ Bye~
