030 | Awkwardness
As the last remnants of the sound of a gun being fired various personnel and authorities entered the hall to inspect what had occurred. An android was seen embracing a woman that appeared to be involved with the shooting. Her body shook at the event that passed for more than minutes, but in reality, it happened in a blink of an eye. To calm her nerves and her shaking body she walked away and took in deep breathes. The android detective followed her steps as they made their way back into the broadcast room and up the steps to the roof. Confused at why the woman did this, Connor kept the silence as they made their way up the stairs. A few personnel that did not hear the gunshots were present on the roof. The woman walked passed a storage container with all its doors open, her eyes began to squint at the sight. Erika pondered at the location for a couple of strides in a back and forth manner. She shook her head in disbelief and walked away from the metal container and to the edge of the building.
Simon left.
Connor followed and watched as she leaned against the railing and let out a sigh. Her breath became visible as the weather stayed stagnant from her previous visit.
"Is something on your mind, Erika", the android approached her in a mannered way as the eyes of strangers took a few glimpses at the two," if it was the gunshot-"
"No, it's not that, I just was so scared that-", her mind became clear as she now could think and turned to Connor. The woman's eyes traveled to his handsome face and noticed a peculiar detail. His collar was undone as well as his dress shirt, her eyes then trailed down his chest, then widened at the sight. Connor's chest was exposed and showed parts of his internal mechanisms and biocomponents. At the center of his chest was a visible indent where a device appeared to be taken out or replaced into the divet. Worry filled Erika's eyes as fresh blue blood was stained on his synthetic skin. Her hand hovered over the damaged area as she was intrigued about the device. Connor watched her movements as she looked at his chest, it was something that made his wiring spark. A sensation that was foreign to the elite android.
"What is this Connor?", the woman questioned the puncture wound on his chest. Worry filled her bright eyes as she slowly looked up to his chocolate orbs.
"One of the JB300s was a deviant--it pulled out my biocomponent #8451", his hand shifted and relocated itself in Erika's right hand. Their skins dissolved and he gave it a reassured squeeze.
"It regulates the heartbeat", he brought her hand to his chest and looked into her eyes," I was fortunate enough to obtain it in time for I won't be able to do this"
With his free hand, Connor pulled Erika close and kissed her worry away. She smiled into the kiss and released her hand from his to entangle both arms around his neck.
He repositioned his hands on the base of her waist and continued the intimate act. Moments flew by as the two displayed their feelings for each other through unspoken words. Erika pulled away with her biting her lip in satisfaction.
A surge of energy pulsated throughout the android's body as he looked at the alluring nature of her lip being bitten. The sound of a throat being cleared broke their trance. They both snapped their heads to the direction of the sound and to their embarrassment it was Hank. Erika looked away from her father figure and tucked her hair back to avoid his gaze. Connor looked at his partner with a look that appeared to resemble one being surprised. He opened his mouth to speak his reasons, but Hank stopped him.
"I don't want to hear it", he looked at the flustered Erika then at the pokerfaced Connor--the old man shook his head at the sight he just witnessed," you two get to the car now"
Erika obliged by walking fast passed Hank and away from Connor. The android blinked at the behavior as it confused him. She was confident when they underwent the act of kissing, but now she was anxious and showed signs of distress. He wanted to know why and walked forward, but Hank stopped him with an extended arm.
"Now you stop right there," Hank looked at Connor with fatherly eyes," you two better work things out cause what happened today will only make things harder"
"Hank, I assure you that nothing will happen, I was just comforting her", he blinked as he fought against the words he truly wanted to say, but his programming kept him from doing so.
"You are unbelievable, you like her that is not a fact you can hide", the lieutenant began walking towards the rooftop door then turned around to say one last thing to the android," now don't just stand there, get a move on!"
Connor nodded and joined his partner down the steps and to the elevator. Erika quietly waited for the two to return, but was bombarded by some investigators with questions regarding the shootout. She shook her head at each question that was thrown at her since she just wanted to leave the building and forgot the awkward confrontation with Hank. The young woman let out a relieved breath of air as the two neared her and she happily pressed the call button for the elevator. Once the doors opened the three entered. Hank placed himself between the two to prevent any more affectionate actions to take place. Erika stood in silence as the elevator ride lasted for what felt like a decade.
"Oh thank you sweet baby Jesus!", Erika walked straight out of the elevator as it opened up to the main floor and walked straight for Hanks car. The two partners soon followed with Hank chuckling at her actions. Connor stared as usual as he did not understand the two.
Once they all piled into the old vehicle they made their course to the station. Erika shuffled in her seat as she knew what this meant for her. To avoid what was to come she looked out the window and daydreamed about her and Connor's second kiss. It was different from the feeling she felt, it was much stronger than the last and it felt as if Connor sent all his love to her in that moment of connection. WIth her mind occupied with this thought, she was unaware of the car being put into the parking gear in the DPD parking lot. The sound of the doors opening woke her up and she looked at Hank as he pushed the seat forward to let her out. She nodded and followed the directions then walked into the station with the two detectives.
"Young lady you have a lot of explaining to do", Hank said as they headed for captain Fowler's office.

This chapter was sorta an intermission to the next chapter, so expect to get the next one in a few hours. Sorry for not updating yesterday, I needed to rest and I couldn't write with a scrambled brain. I hope this makes up for the lack of chapters yesterday! Thank you again for your supportive and funny comments, they all make my day.
Also, I don't know if you all have noticed, but I put up a new book cover for this story! I hope you all like it since I went through many revisions and took my time to create it!
**That's the reason why there was no chapter yesterday, haha**
Anywho, here is the cover if you haven't seen it yet!
