013 | Speculation
Hours passed as the suspect remained unconscious in a holding cell at the station. Connor wandered around the station to occupy himself while Hank was on the phone once again with Natalie.
Connor entered the lounge and observed the food available for the day. Donuts were the usual suspect as well as coffee, both held unhealthy attributes if consumed at a high rate. While uploading facts about foods he wondered what Erika liked to eat. Hank did mention that she owned a cafe in the city. This led Connor to research numerous cafes in the area, but before he could determine which one she owned a hand grabbed him by the shoulder.
"Are you deaf or something?", Gavin stated as he turned the detective around.
"That cannot be possible since I'm a machine", Connor corrected the smug cop.
"Oh, my apologies didn't mean to", he started," but I just did"
Connor was silent. As much as he wanted to reply to Gavin with some snarky comeback, his programming prevented him from doing so. Instead, he stood there and took in all that Gavin spat out.
"Oh-", a small pause came from the cop," I hear Erika is recovering quite well, tell her I said hi"
He let out a wink to the android and walked away. A pain in Connor's chest began to form as he grabbed the fabric of his shirt in the location of his heart. He tolerated Gavin from day to day, but this comment made him frustrated and tolerance was something he was incapable of doing at the moment.
Who is Gavin to Erika?
A question Connor asked himself. He was curious and needed to go know why. He paced the lounge for a short time until Hank walked into the room.
"Connor he's awake, we're sending him to the interrogation room", Hank said as the android came to his side. They both entered the interrogation room and observed the suspect for a second time.
"Know anything that could help?", Hank asked his partner before he entered.
"I just might, hopefully, it's enough", Connor scanned his palm and entered the room.
Conan was in his spot from before. The only difference was dried blood and purple tint to his face around the nasal region. Connor analyzed him and noticed components of an RK300, a model named similarly to the RK800 but was designed to do mundane tasks such as cleaning and cooking. Upon further inspection, the suspect was majority android than human.
Connor took a seat across from the man and was greeted with a toothy smile that read hysterical. The detective didn't flinch at the suspect's attempt to through him off and that caused Conan to smile even wider like a hyena.
"Oohh, tin man is here", Conan commented as he looked at the mirror, his eyes locked on Hank. This gave Hank a small chill as he saw the crazed look in Conan's eyes.
"Much more interesting", Conan looked at every detail on Connor from his facial features to his uniform," I'd like to trade if you get what I mean"
Connor definitely knew what he meant, but he couldn't for it meant death for the android.
The fear of death.
"That would be ineffective and cause a significant delay in my mission", Connor stated to be unsuspecting. He looked the man and asked his questions in a collected manner.
"Why improve yourself with android parts?", Connor asked, but no reply which was odd for the talkative suspect," I'll repeat, why the additions?
"I heard yeah the first time tin man", Conan smirked," but you know why"
Connor shook his head, he needed to appear uninformed even if knew the truth. He needed the suspect to admit this information.
"I just act like I know everything, Conan", Connor looked the at the man with a stern eye.
"Heh, what's it to you?", Conan looked at Connor with self-interest," is it for the old man? Erika?"
Connor's LED flickered yellow by the mentioning of her name but kept his ground as Conan questioned him.
"Then why lure androids to you and use them for your improvements?", Connor started to mention his criminal background," you've robbed CyberLife stores and a distribution center for androids, why not use those?"
"Not compatible", Conan stated simply. Connor took note of that and pressed forward.
"Why rob CyberLife? Is it due to the fact that you were relieved of your employment at the company?", Connor stated.
"That company, fired me cause they couldn't handle what I was creating", He yelled. Connor now had his attention and continued to interrogate.
"Creation of what? Prosthetics made from android parts", Connor looked at Conan with determined eyes.
"Not that, a child could make that", Conan smirked," integration of the two species, one becoming the other, cerebral transfer, interchangeable blood transfusions..."
Immortality.
"Also having a side project was nice to have as well", the suspect looked at the file which had an image of Erika peeking out," she was far from exceptional, but not perfect"
"Why do it?", Connor slammed a hand down on the table.
"She just kept disobeying me--running away, but I managed to make her obedient" Conan smiled widely.
"What did you do? You gave her those WR400 legs?", Connor's voice became more demanding.
"She wasn't perfect, but bit by bit she did", Conan snapped his fingers and beamed his eyes at Connor," and like that she'll do whatever I wanted"
"Are you the experimenter", Connor questioned and brought up an image if the flash drive inscribed with the letter "E". The detective tried to obtain any information from the memory device but got nothing.
"You tell me--can't tell when you're looking right at em", the suspect leaned forward in an attempt to make Connor look right at him.
Although Connor saw something other than the suspect's smirk. A faint light comes from the side of his head. Confused at this Connor stood back and took in this new information.
"What else did you do? Did you torture Erika? Were you the one that abducted her for 3 years?", Connor asked these questions.
Conan turned his head to the mirror and stared at a specific spot. On the other side was Hank seated in one of the viewing chairs. He avoided the gaze and looked at Connor as he tried to figure out what his partner was thinking.
"What else did you do?", Connor repeated his question as he tried to continue this streak.
Suddenly the talkative suspect was quite. It was if he lost the function of his voice. After repeated attempts to revive the conversation, Connor shook his head and looked at the two-way mirror.
"I'm getting nowhere", Connor got up from the chair and headed for the door," I'm done"
Connor placed his hand on the scanner and walked out. Hank soon followed his partner to their desks as the officers assisting the interrogation moved the suspect back to his holding cell. The detective android paced by the desk as he tried to grasp at an explanation for his analyzation in the interrogation room.
"Light emitted from the suspect,,
Hank arrived at the desk and took a hold of Connor's shoulder.
"Look, Connor its different to interrogate a human", Hank admitted," we can-"
The lights to the station went out causing the entire facility to be pitch black. With a small speculation, Connor rushed over to the holding cells. The silence was all that echoed throughout the building. Once Connor arrived at the holding cell, he was able to see another being in the cell for a split second before the lights turned back on. Officers accompanied with Hank, Gavin and Fowler came rushing in after the lights turned on.
The sight before them was a crime scene in itself. Blue-blood splattered on the wall--a immobile body lied on the floor.
This confirmed Connor's speculation, this was a decoy. It wasn't Conan, at least not the alive and breathing one. What laid before the DPD staff was an android fixed to look like Conan.
"This isn't the fucker", Hank looked at Connor with furious eyes.

Erika awoke in her room to the lights on. She looked around to see who entered the room. Her mom wasn't in sight and this made her worry. She turned to see a man dress in all white, a doctor possibly. But after a couple of seconds, she knew it wasn't a doctor. Terror filled her eyes as she clenched onto her bedding and moved away from the figure. It stepped forward and pulled down a medical mask obstructing his face.
"Hey babe, miss me?"
