011 | Departure

Connor watched Erika rest for the entire duration of the night, and even though it would come off as creepy, it was his way of caring--for androids don't sleep. Hank stepped out to answer some call on the suspect and the time that they'll interrogate him. While being programmed to receive any information involved with deviants, Connor found it unessecary to accompany his partner. He just wanted stay by her light and warmth for a couple minutes longer. Their hands stayed interlocked--the other's palm hugging the other. Both exposing an android exterior; white and pure. Although, Connor didn't seem to believe that he was innocent. He then looked Erika, whom had her eyebrows furrowed at a thought--possibly a nightmare or a bad memory.

"No!", Erika exclaimed as she awoke, her hands were shaking and fear radiated in her eyes. She frantically looked around--still tense from what she saw.

Connor faced her and grasped her shoulders with a gentle touch. He looked at her with worried eyes, his chocolate buds met her hazel ones and in an instant she calmed down. The fear left her eyes and was replaced with a gleam of relief.

"You stayed", Erika said, her face glowed with the thought of being watched over, to finally feel safe. After she calmed down, Connor held onto her hand once more, yearning for her warmth.

"Of course, Hank instructed that I look after you when he's not around", Connor said in a scripted manner.

"Oh", Erika took her hand away from its spot with Connor's. She turned away from him and looked out the door to see Hank walk in. She gave off a smile to reassure the old man as he entered.

"How are you kid?", Hank asked at her bedside.

"I'm better, the best I've been", She said as she held back a croak of the truth.

"Good to hear, the doctors and nurse staff said you'd be good to go in a couple more days maybe a week at most", he said as held onto her human hand and gave it a squeeze. Hank noticed the hesitant nature of her words as it was something she always did when uncomfortable, a fatherly intuition to say the least.

"Anything happen when I was out?", he asked her whole shooting a stern look at Connor.

"She woke up due to an unpleasant dream", Connor started," she woke up abruptly, but calmed down when she took in her surroundings"

"Okay", Hank nodded while still looking at Connor as he took the small portion of truth he was given.

"Where's mom?", Erika asked as she looked for the presence of her mother.

"She had to open up shop", Hank stated," she'll be back to take over in a few"

"You're not staying?", Erika's voice elevated to a pitch slightly higher than her own as she questioned her godfather.

"I got work too, but I'll be back at the end of the day", Hank said as he gestured Connor to head out.

"I'll see you later on this evening...Eri--Ms. Daniel", Connor corrected his words as he needed to be professional and not personal.

"It's just Erika, call me miss and I'm my mom", she said with a hint of humor.

"Of course...Erika", Connor stood up and stepped out of the room to wait in the hall. He was confused at his actions and how he was able to see her memories. That was an ability he was able to do with androids with memory banks by probing them, but this was different. Is there more of her that's machine?

Connor blinked at the thought and checked on his partner through the glass portion of the door. Erika saw him do this in the middle of her conversation with Hank and couldn't help but let out a small comment.

"He must be worried to be checking in every second", The young woman stated.

"Oh, he's just being impatient", Hank said as he cleaned up his mess from the night prior. He sat down where Connor did and looked at Erika.

"You know kid, you had us worried", he was mentioning himself and her mother," why did you just runaway? Stop contacting us? Heck, during the same time as-"

"I didn't mean to", Erika cut him off," I can't say a thing, but maybe your friend can help with that part"

She looked at Connor as he peeked in every so often to check in. She let out a smile at this behavior as she found it cute, at least to her. Hank's phone went off as it meant it was time for him to depart. Erika didn't want him to go, but she knew his job and let him. Now alone once again she commenced to sob as the lights dimmed in the vacant room.
