005 | Unexpected

"Hank she's just like the victim from yesterday's case", Connor looked at the innocent looking woman and back at Hank. The older man was processing the information in his seat, attempting to grasp onto what he was told.

"I'm sorry, who are you?", Erika questioned the android at her bedside.

"My name is Connor, I'm an android sent by CyberLife to assist Lieutenant Anderson on investigating cases involving deviants", he played his small bio about himself with the addition of Hank as his partner.

"English Connor", Hank looked at him with a shake of his head

"I'm his investigation partner at the DPD", Connor simplified for her to process at her own pace.

"But why are you here", she questioned suspiciously, her hand fiddled with the hospital bedding.

"The lieutenant asked me to", he simply replied and stared at her.

"Okay enough about Connor and more about you missy", Hank stood up and focused himself on Erika," I can tell that your arm looks too good to be a prosthetic"

Hank took a hold of her right arm and saw that only hospital bands were encircled around her wrist and no IV or heart rate device attached. Both items Connor found missing during his scan of the room.

"I-I don't want to talk about it, not yet at least", she was hesitant as if something was holding her back.

"Why not", Hank turned towards her with frustration in his eyes.

"We searched for you and even mourned for you and-", the lieutenant choked on his words and started to tear up," I wasn't able to find you, you were here and I didn't find you"

Erika saw the sorrow in Hank's eyes, she knew she made the ones she loves to suffer. All of the torture they went through for personal gain and fulfillment as it seems.

"I can't say anything", she said and hung her head low tears streaming down her cheeks. Hank cursed underneath his breath as he made his way to the large window to cool off. Connor analyzed the situation and commenced to question her, knowing that it would benefit the case involving humans becoming androids.

"Your legs and arm", Connor stated without permission on such a subject," they are of a WR400 and AX400 models"

Erika looked away avoiding interactions with the android. She, in turn, got lost in thought at the mentioning of her limbs.

''These were once part of somebody,,

She stared blankly at a fold in her bedding. Connor continued to question her with no regard to how the sudden pressure made her brain ache.

"What is your opinion on androids?", Conner directly presented the topic.

"A friend, enemy, lover, or toy", she answered vaguely," -whatever you make of them, isn't that CyberLife's slogan"

"That is an interesting representation of the company's message", Connor stated as his LED lit up in a shade of yellow then back to its neutral blue color.

"Enough questions Connor", the lieutenant ordered," can't you tell it's making her uncomfortable"

Connor scanned Erika's vitals. Her beats per minute had increased and so did her stress level. Also, the sight of her fiddling with the sheets was another indicator--along with the lack of eye contact. Therefore confirming Hank's allegation.

"I apologize for the behavior, it won't happen again", Connor turned away from Erika and walked towards the window, stationing himself there.

"He's new, but you'll warm up to him", Hank let out a small laugh. He looked at his girl and saw how much she's grown, given that it was only a few years she look more mature. Her hazel eyes looked around and signed in relief. Although she couldn't remember why.

"Listen, kid, we need to know what happened to you", Hank looked at her, watching his movements to keep her calm," it would help us with our investigation and I could file a case for you as well, find the person or thing that did this to you"

"I just wanted to be complete to be able to know the feeling of having both arms, so-" Erika cut off her response with her clenching her chest. Pain exploded throughout her body. Her face started to turn red. Connor who was previously at the window came by to analyze her to best of his programming could accomplish. Hank started to freak as she started to convulse and yell in agony.

"Heh-heeEEE", she managed to say through her cries, visible blue veins appeared on her human skin as she started to lose oxygen.

Her vitals began to increase. Her beats per minute rose up and her heart rate started to have a high frequency. Her breathing quickened, she reached out for Connor's arm with her android one. His LED flickered yellow as she transferred something to him. With the last remnants of her energy, she released Connor's arm and collapsed into his arms. Medical staff came rushing in the stabilize the patient--a nurse escorted the two detectives out.

Connor confused at what just happened walked over to the side where Hank relocated himself against a wall. His eyes blinked rapidly as he tried to process the events that took place. He looked at his arm, tracing the spot she took a hold of him. Suddenly a shock bolted through Connor. He stood still as a millisecond of images flashed through his mind. He felt a pang in his chest and grasped at where his artificial heart was located.

He turned to view the now stable Erika sleeping in her hospital bed. Connor just stared at he with his hand still on his chest. He didn't know why he did it, probably due to the images he saw and as if he felt how she felt. Fear and sadness, human emotions that shouldn't be expressed in a machine. If this was present, it's no longer a machine and is labeled as a deviant. Faults in codes and programming, an easy fix, but Connor couldn't help but mirror the exact sadness she felt.

His eyes blinked once more and he turned to Hank. Who was on the phone with Erika's mother. The lieutenant paced in his spot as he explained what happened and upon her waking up to the stressful episode she recently had. Hank then stopped his pacing to listen in on what Natalie said on the other line. Soft cursed exited Hank's mouth as he hung up. Intrigued by what the conversation was about,  Connor approached the lieutenant with an interest in his eyes.

"Everything alright Hank?", Connor leaned in to get a word from the older man.

"No, we need to go to the station", Hank rushed towards the elevator and punched the call button,"NOW!"
