Note: this takes place after HTTYD2, when all the vikings are rebuilding Berk after the fight with the Bewilderbeast and Drago

Sure, Berk had suffered some damage. It wasn't anything the tough men on Berk couldn't fix. Besides, the ice from the Bewilderbeast actually made Berk more defended. The ice built up around the buildings, which could shield them from attacks or bad weather. And knowing the weather on Berk, the ice wouldn't melt anytime soon.

You were currently on house repair duty, since you were only a teenager and couldn't help with the bigger damage. You were up on a ladder, hammering in new wood roof tiles on a viking's house. Your best friends, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, and Ruffnut and Tuffnut were also working on houses next to you. Hiccup was, as usual, nowhere to be found. Your boyfriend was known to go missing at random times and then show up later. He was usually out flying and exploring with Toothless, so you never worried much. Toothless would protect Hiccup if it were necessary.

You didn't worry too much about Hiccup and instead focused on fixing houses. You were just hammering in the last roof tile when Hiccup decided to show up.

"Boo!" he yelled as he grabbed the ladder and shook it gently, scaring the life out of you. You screamed and fell off the ladder, luckily grabbing the roof of the house you were fixing. Unfortunately, the house was pretty tall and you were a decent 30 feet away from the ground.

"Hiccup!" you half scolded and half screamed in terror. Hiccup looked up in shock at what he'd done.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry, (Y/N)! I didn't mean it!" Hiccup said as he looked around for a way to get you down safely.

"Do you trust me?" Hiccup asked randomly and you looked down, confused.

"What do you mean? Of course I do...well after this I'm not sure. But you're my boyfriend, of course I do." you rambled on. Hiccup chuckled.

"Well then, I need you to let go." Hiccup said.

"What?!" you yelped.

"Let go of the roof, I'll catch you." Hiccup said. By this time, your friends and more Berkians had noticed what was going on and started crowding around.

"Hiccup, are you crazy?!" you say as you tighten your grip on the roof.

"You trust me, (Y/N), so trust me when I say I'll catch you." Hiccup says. You sigh and look down...a long way down. You feel fear creep up you, but you sigh and make a decision.

You trust your boyfriend.

You let go of the roof and wait to hit hard ground...but instead you feel strong arms and hear Hiccup sigh in relief. You look up at him and grin.

"Told you I'd catch you." he says and gives you a kiss on the forehead.

"Never ever scare me like that, ok?" you say and point a finger at him accusingly. He just laughs and hugs you tightly and you hug him back.

"I love you, you dork." you say and Hiccup kisses your hair.

"Love you too, (Y/N)."
