(GP)= Godly Parent
You had always known what you had wanted in a perfect family, ever since you were put into the system. But this family you were with right now...wasn't it. They hated you, you were sure of it. Your foster father hit you across the face when you did something wrong. Your foster mother locked you in your room and didn't feed you for a week once. Your foster brother pulls your hair, and your foster sister sticks gum in it, forcing you to cut it out. As a result, you have bruises all over your face and body, and your haircut is atrocious. You were only 11.
Your foster parents also liked to drink. And smoke. The house always smelled terrible, and your room only smelled good because you sprayed Febreze in there. You couldn't spray too much, though, because your foster parents would get mad or question where you got the spray. You couldn't tell them you snuck money out of their wallet when they were too drunk or high to notice.
You were currently in your room because you got in trouble...again. This time, your foster mom wasn't drunk or high and was able to notice some money was missing from her alcohol and drugs savings. She barged up to your room and smelled the Febreze, so she yelled at you and locked you in your room without dinner. But that's ok. She only ever gave you small things that were shoved in the back of the fridge, and whatever leftovers they didn't eat at dinner that night, which wasn't a lot.
You were lying on your bed, playing on your phone and listening to (Band/Singer), thankful that your foster parents let you have a phone. They mostly gave it to you so they could call you and have you pick up things on your way home. And luckily, your foster mom forgot to take it away when she locked you in here. You were playing a game on your phone, completely absorbed in it, when your foster mom burst into your room. You look up at her, startled.
"(Y/N), pack everything you have. You're leaving," she said and slammed the door behind her. You didn't even stop to question what's happening, you were too happy with this news. You packed the few items you had (literally nothing except a few clothes and some books) into a duffle bag and run down the stairs. You saw your foster family standing by the open door, where a boy and two girls about your age were smiling at you.
"(Y/N), this is Luke, Annabeth, and Thalia. You're going with them," your foster mother said and ushered you out the door without a goodbye from any of your "family". You turned to the three kids and smiled. The boy, Luke, mirrored your bright smile and grabbed your hand, dragging you into the night with them.
"You're gonna love Camp Half-Blood, (Y/N)!" Luke said as the four of you trekked through the woods near your house. You stared at him, confused.
"Camp Half-Blood? What is that? Some kind of summer camp?" you asked. They laughed and Luke shook his head.
"No, it is a camp but not a summer one. It's year-round, and it's for really special kids," he said. You stared confused at his words.
"Special kids? I'm not special. I'm just a foster kid," you said with a little sadness in your voice. A foster kid. That's all you'd ever be. Luke gave you a sympathetic look and wrapped an arm around your shoulders.
"Sure you are! You have ADHD and dyslexia, right?" Oh right. You had almost forgot about that. Of course when you were at home with your "family", they never let you forget it, constantly saying you were an idiot and would never do well in school.
"Yeah, so? That doesn't make me special," you argued and finally one of the girls, Annabeth, spoke.
"It does at our camp, trust me. Everyone else is just like you! We understand what you're going through, not really having a 'home' but at our camp you'll have one," she said and you smiled warmly.
"Ok, how do we get there?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had been at Camp Half-Blood for five years now. You were 16. You, Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth were inseparable. At least, until Thalia got turned into a pine tree by her father, Zeus. You, Annabeth and Luke missed her every day and always went to her tree to say hi to Thalia because she wasn't dead. She was living and protecting you through her tree. Oh, that's right, Camp Half-Blood was a camp for demigod children. You were in shock when you learned this.
Your third year at Camp Half-Blood you were claimed, which meant your godly parent had accepted you as their own. You were a child of (godly parent) and you got along perfect with your siblings in your cabin. You and Luke had gotten closer, too. He was best friends with Annabeth and Thalia too, and they immediately accepted you into their circle. You hung out with Luke every day, and he helped you learn new fighting techniques, healing techniques, and he just told you a lot about what goes on up in Olympus.
You two had gotten so close that when he asked you to go out with him at dinner one night and you immediately said yes, no one was surprised. In fact, the (GP) and Hermes cabins made bets. Your cabin won.
