And for those of you who don't know, Gustav is the kid from HTTYD that turned out to be like a mini Snotlout, even getting a Monstrous Nightmare and naming it Fanghook (Snotlout's is named Hookfang). 

And can I just say...puberty hit him like a Gronkle. (if anyone gets that joke, you get a hug)

You were sixteen, and so was your boyfriend, Gustav. Yes, he could be extremely childish, but that was one of the things you loved about him. 

But you had noticed Gustav was acting weirdly recently. You had decided that you were going to talk to him and see if you could find out why he was acting weird. You walked over to your boyfriend's house and knocked on his door. Gustav opened the door and you saw dark bags under his eyes. He looked like he hadn't slept in days.

"Gustav! What happened? You look exhausted!" you said as you ran a hand through your boyfriend's messy hair. He yawned and smiled at you.

"Nothing's wrong, (Y/N). I was just up late last night flying home from Dragon's Edge. Didn't get much sleep on the fly back, and I couldn't fall asleep when I got home." Gustav says with a yawn. You walk past him into his house, pulling him after you. You sit on chairs in the living room by the fireplace, and you see Fanghook snoozing in the corner.

"Why were you flying back from Dragon's Edge? I thought you were supposed to stay there for a week?" you asked curiously. Gustav had told you he planned on flying out to Dragon's Edge, to convince the Dragon Riders that he was ready to become one of them. Gustav had explained he'd be there for about a week, if they told him he could join and he started training.

Him being home early could only mean bad news.

"They, uh...well, Hiccup...said that I wasn't ready." Gustav explained with a sad look. 

Your heart broke. Gustav had so looked forward to becoming a Dragon Rider.

"Did he say why?" you asked softly. Gustav looked up sadly at you, and you hugged him from the side.

"He said...well all the Dragon Riders agreed...that I was too 'immature and irresponsible'." Gustav says, making air quotes with his fingers around the last three words. You frowned when you heard this. Sure, Gustav could be completely childish, but you thought he was perfectly ready to be a Dragon Rider.

"Aw, I'm sorry. But hey, they don't know what they're talking about." you said, snuggling up to Gustav. He wrapped an arm around your waist and kissed your forehead.

"I don't know, maybe they're right...maybe I need to grow up and start being more responsible." Gustav says. You frown.

"Gustav, I know how much becoming a Dragon Rider means to you, but it shouldn't mean you have to completely change." you say, and Gustav looks at you thoughtfully.

"What do you mean?" he asks.

"I'm dating you because of who you are now. I love your personality, and I wouldn't try to change you for the world. And if Hiccup and the other Riders don't appreciate you for who you are, it's their loss." you say and peck Gustav's cheek.

"Thanks, (Y/N). I needed that."

Wow, Gustav is sooo out of character. Then again, we've never seen how he acted around a girlfriend, so I can't really say he's too much out of character...anyway, hope you guys liked this and don't forget to leave requests!
