Chapter 4: flatshare

Peter's POV

Wade is actually a really nice guy. I wasn't expecting a guy who kills - or as he likes to put it, unalives - for a living to be so sweet and gentle. But here we are, I am laying on his couch wrapped in two blankets, supernatural in the background and surrounded by food and love.

I look to my left at the stranger who saved me. His golden hair stuck out wildly, slightly static from his mask. His ocean eyes stare straight ahead, engrossed by the programme I can no longer pay attention to. What is wrong with me? I barely even know the guy and yet I can't stop staring.

Wade must have sensed me staring as he chuckles and turns to me. "You know you can ask me shit, I don't mind."

"Oh o-okay." I pause to think as several questions pop to mind. "How old are you?"

"Seventeen."

"Really?" My eyes are probably the size of dinner plates as I give his body a shameless once over. There is no way he is seventeen. He looks at least twenty, maybe even older.

"Yep. You are looking at a very successful highschool dropout." He gives me a goofy smile and proceeds to mute the TV, turning his entire body so it was facing me. "How about you Spidey?"

"Sixteen. Also highschool drop out, but not by choice." I mumble the last part and flick my gaze to my hands.

If he heard he chooses not to comment, which I am very grateful for. We sit in a comfortable silence for a couple of minutes until a second question pops into my head.

"Do you live alone?" I didn't want to come across insensitive, but I was quite curious as to why no adults had entered the flat for the four hours I had been crashing there.

"Um...yeah. Yes I do." Wade looked pretty put out by this question, so I decided not to push any further. Instead I divulged information that I have never shared with anyone.

"Me too. Well I live on a rooftop alone. My aunt died a year ago and I couldn't be placed in the system after what happened last time." I shudder at the thought of the orphanage, before May and Ben found me and gave me the home I needed. "So I ran away and found a pretty secluded roof. No one ever goes up there, so I am pretty safe."

Wade's mood had shifted completely. He looked utterly heart broken at my matter of fact tone, how nonplussed I seemed. Of course to me it was completely normal, I had been living like this for a year now. Maybe more.

"I'm sorry Peter. That's awful." He opens his mouth as if to say more but decides against it. To lighten the mood I jump up, realising that my ribs were completely healed, and clapped my hands together.

"Well Deadpool fancy going on a patrol with me?" I say pulling down my mask.

"Of course Spidey. Wouldn't miss it for the world."
