chapter | 2

Saturday morning.

I finished my 48-hour duty last night and came home to my family. I was barely able to keep my eyes open but I managed to bathe Taehyung for bedtime just before I passed out cold on the bed. I remember that I didn't even eat dinner last night so when I woke up, my stomach was already on a loud protest.

Jimin was still asleep as I got up from the bed and into the kitchen. I brewed some coffee for him, making sure it wasn't too bitter because he likes them sweet. I opened the fridge and scanned for something to cook for the Taehyung since the nanny won't be here until 8am. I snatched the eggs and bacon.

"Mommy, goodmorning." Taehyung shuffled into the kitchen in his blue pajamas and his furry slippers. He got his teddy bear in his arm, the one Hoseok gave him for his birthday last year. He seemed attached to it now. "Is Daddy going somewhere?

"Goodmorning baby." I went to him and kissed his forehead, "What do you mean? Daddy doesn't have work today."

"But he does.." Taetae frowned.

Just then, Jimin came out from our room, all dressed up in a formal suit. His hair was slicked back neatly and he was wearing one of his expensive ties along with his favorite tie clip. He gave me a kiss first then picked up Taehyung, "Morning my little soldier."

"You told me you cleared your schedule today." I sent him a dissatisfied look. "You tell me I'm workaholic yet you're being one yourself."

"Babe, this meeting is really important. I just got the message from my secretary just 20 minutes ago." Jimin placed Taehyung down on his chair and pulled me in the hall, where we're out of earshot. "I know I promised to be here today but this will only take a short time. I'll run back home as soon as this is finished."

"You always make promises you can't keep." I said to him, worried about our son, "I don't want you to break Taehyung's heart again. You don't know how sad he was the last time you promised to spend the day with him."

"This time, I promise I'll spend the day with you guys." He rested both his hands on the flesh of my hips as he pushed my back to flatten against the wall.

Jimin made my mind wavered at the touch of his plump lips. I hate that I can't do anything when he has me cornered like this, his hands travel around my back, pulling me in closer as he press his lips harder on mine. I feel like I'm being a huge hypocrite to myself for liking what he's doing to me right now. His kisses has always been my weakness after all.

"I'll finish everything cleanly and come back." Jimin said as he pulled away, "If I break this promise again, you can do anything you want. You won't even hear me complain."

"Alright." I breathed out, holding him still, "But I'd like it if you don't break your promise."

He smiled and intertwined his fingers with mine as we both return to the kitchen. Jimin explained to Taehyung that he'd be gone for a few hours. Taehyung nodded but it broke my heart to see him so sad when Jimin left.

I had my chin propped on my hand as I watched him as he finished the food on his plate then he raised his head up and asked, "When Daddy comes home, can we go to the amusement park?"

I smiled at him, wiping some bread crumbs from his cheek before nodding at his request, "We'll do anything you want, sweetie."

Three hours later, Jimin still isn't back. I already bathed Taehyung and dressed him up prettily. He's so excited, he even chose his own clothes and tied his own shoelaces for the first time, wanting to brag about it to his father but his father hasn't even sent me anything yet, not even a text message to say if he'll make it or not.

I gave up on calling his phone and picked up the telephone, dialling his office number, "For the love of God, Jimin pick up. Someone just pick up the damn phone."

"Yes, hello." Finally, someone picked up. It was his assistant.

"Hi, Yoonji, it's me Mara." I said over the phone.

"Ah yes, madam." She answered quickly. "You called for a report? Well, I've been keeping an eye on Mr. Park and so far, he's not seeing anyone except his clients. I also eavesdropped on their meeting with the bug you told me to leave under his desk, I can attest to it that it's all strictly business he does with his female clients."

"Oh no. I didn't call about that but thanks for the report. I guess." I said before moving to the main question, "What is he doing right now? Is he busy? Can I talk to him?"

"Oh, he already left the office like twenty minutes ago." She said and just then, the front door lock chimed and Taehyung jumped up from the couch.

"Nevermind. Thank you, Yoonji." I then hung up and put the receiver down.

"Hey, little soldier." Jimin knelt down to Taehyung's height so he could pick him up. "Ready to go?"

Taehyung nodded in Jimin's arms, "I tied my own shoelaces today."

"Oh really? What a smart boy. I guess I'll have to buy you a reward later." Jimin tapped his little nose and he giggled genuinely. He then turned to me. I was busy smiling and watching the both of them when he asked me the same question, "How about you, baby? Ready to go?"

I blushed under his stare and he chuckled at my unpreparedness. I tipped my head back and ignored his playfulness, "Actually, I am."

We headed out together and got into Jimin's car. I made sure that Taehyung was buckled safely in the backseat before I took mine in the passenger's seat, beside Jimin. I caught Jimin eyeing my legs since only half of my thighs were covered by my mini skirt.

"Baby, isn't your skirt too short?" Jimin casually brought up as he started the car and began to drive out of the parking lot.

"I don't think so." I replied nonchalantly. "Besides, it's been awhile since I wore something in this length."

"Daddy, why do you call mommy baby? She's not a baby anymore." Taehyung said. He found it innocently funny.

"You're right. My little soldier is so clever." Jimin smiled at him from the rearview mirror as I grinned by myself but only until I felt his hand on my thigh, rubbing his thumb in soft circles against my skin, "I should call mommy something more suitable." He added in a low whisper, "How about kitten? Or would you like something direct and possessive?"

I started to feel hot flushes throughout my body. I cleared my throat and he took his hand from my lap when he noticed me glaring, "What?"

"We'll talk about this later." I told him, not wanting Taehyung to hear this conversation.

Jimin grinned, "Oh yeah, we will." He said with a casual lick on his lips and a far from innocent gleam in his eyes, "Can't wait."

"We're going to the amusement park~ la la la la~" Taehyung excitedly sang as he stared out the window, watching other cars zoom past. "Can I eat a blue cotton candy? Can I mommy?"

"Just one. You know that sweets are bad for your teeth, right?" I glanced at our little boy, a frown forming on his face. "You don't the monsters to take your teeth, do you?"

"No." He hung his head low.

Jimin chuckled at this, looking at Taehyung from the rear view mirror, "Tell you what, little soldier, if you brush your teeth every day. I will let you have two cotton candies."

"Jimin." I turned to him and he smiled at me.

"It's okay. He's a kid." Jimin softly said, persuading me to loosen up a bit. "I'm sure you had your fair share of sweets too when you were young."

I sighed in defeat, "Alright but no sweets at night okay?"

Taehyung's grin seem to grow bigger. "Yayyy!"

Taehyung was so happy when we arrived at the amusement park. He was pulling on our hands, literally begging to ride on the merry go round and the ferris wheel. Jimin held onto my hand with his other hand while we get the tickets. The first ride was a rollercoaster for kids. It's a miniature version of the big rollercoaster with cute little loops and curves. I let Jimin go with Taehyung since we already negotiated to take turns which means I'll go with Taehyung on the next attraction.

During lunch, Taehyung was talking non stop about the other attraction he wants to go next while Jimin and I were just so glad he's enjoying himself. I excused myself to go to the restroom, taking my purse with me. I didn't take long since I only needed to fix my make up because the heat was challenging my foundation today. Jimin was in a really good mood when I left but when I returned, his expression was so bad that I began to think if something happened while I was gone or was it something I did?

"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked him, reading his facial expression.

Jimin grabbed my arm and we left the restaurant quickly after he paid in cash. He was gripping a bit tightly on my wrist but I endured it because Taehyung might notice. I pulled my arm from his grip when Taehyung was not looking anymore, distracted by the colorful balloons, "Jimin, I asked you what the problem is."

"I told you not to wear short skirts." He said. He was mad obviously. "Some perverts were staring up at your skirt back at the restaurant. Did you know how I felt? I couldn't do anything because I was with Taehyung. Damn it, Mara. You have a kid. You're married to me."

"Excuse me? I can wear whatever I want, whether I'm married or not. You know what? I'm not doing his right now. You're being such a jerk, Jimin." I told him before walking to where Taehyung was.

"Mara." He followed after me, "You don't get what I'm saying."

"Then what are you saying? Please make me understand because I am so stupid I can't even comprehend your logic, sir." I retorted and added in my point of view in feminism, "You see, that's the problem with men. They always blame it on women for wearing short skirts and for showing a bit of skin, when in fact, men are the one who can't control their fucking urges. It's not our fault we feel confident with our own bodies. It's not our fault that men can't control themselves around us. It's your problem, not ours. Why can't you just deal with it like how we deal with your egos?"

"I can't win over you, can't I?" Jimin released a deep sigh when I was still ignoring him as I attended to our son.

"Mommy, can you hold my ice cream for me? My shoelaces are untied." Taehyung looked up at me.

"I'll tie it for you, darling. Eat your ice cream before it melts." I forced a kind smile at him and was about to kneel down when Jimin stopped me.

"I'll do it. You're in a skirt." He said, taking my place and crouching down to tie his son's loose shoelaces. Jimin flashed a smile at Taehyung, ruffling his hair, "That okay now, soldier?"

Taehyung nodded his head and smiled, oblivious to our argument. Jimin faced me again, taking his blazer off and tying them around my waist, "Keep this on and I'll drop everything. I don't want to fight, Mara."

"Why do you think I'd want to fight? We rarely have times like this. I don't want to waste it arguing with each other." I said before smiling apologetically at him, "Sorry for the things I said."

"Well, you aren't wrong." Jimin sent me a look as he roll up his sleeves to his elbows and loosen his tie with one hand. "I actually agree with you on one thing.."

He then held my hand again in his, Taehyung's small hands in his other one. Jimin pulled on my hand so he can hover his lips over my ear. "That men can't control their urges around women. Like how I'm always thinking about doing you, kitten."
