Chapter 18

My recent days have always seemed to be pretty happy and normal, doing my own job as the head of my company and being a father of my four adopted children. For the past year that we were together, it was only my first time to ever experience one of the most annoying things of taking care of children.

Dealing with a child who's being picky of her food.

Ever since I became their father, I've only been feeding them food that I'm sure they wouldn't have a difficult time eating. And I think now it's time to feed them something else, by adding some vegetables that most children often hate. Out of the four girls that would be picky about their food, I didn't expect it to be Blake. This small event has been going on for almost a half an hour already and it's making my head ache.

"Come on Blake, just eat your stew. It's already getting colder." I told her.

"Nah-uh."

I put the spoonful of stew closer towards her mouth but she only reacted by turning away to the side and shutting her mouth close. Letting out a sigh, I put the spoon on the bowl and placed it down on the table then crossed my arms. Blake looks at me with a grumpy look.

"Are you gonna eat it or not?" I asked.

"I don't wanna, it tastes bad." She shows a disgusted expression.

"No it's not, once you keep eating them, they'll get more delicious. Plus it's essential for your health so you must eat it. Come on now." I convinced her one last time.

"No!" Blake shakes her head.

"If you don't eat it, I'll make sure you won't get to eat fish for the rest of your days." I gave her a menacing gaze, which intimidated her.

"I-I'm sorry daddy, I'll eat my food now." She slowly, but shakily grabs her bowl of stew and holds the spoon, about to hesitantly put the food in her mouth.

It seems that I scared her a bit too much, my bad. I let out a soft chuckle and gently rubbed Blake's head, making her less intimidated.

"How about we make a deal, if you keep eating the food I feed to you, I'll reward you with more fish. How's that sound?" I said.

"Okay! Deal!" Her expression immediately lit up and she beamed at me.

"That's more like it, better finish up your food while I go check up on your sisters." I stood up from the chair and began to walk out of the kitchen and into the living room.

Upon arriving in the room, I witness Yang was jumping up and down on the couch. And on the other side are Weiss and Ruby seeming to be having a nice playtime. Walking closer to Yang, I caught her as she jumped, she looks behind at me and smiled afterwards.

"Papa, I can fly!" She exclaimed.

"Well, I'm glad that you can but you shouldn't be jumping or moving around quickly after eating." I told her as I place her down.

"All right, papa. I won't do it again next time." She said.

"Good, how about you join your sisters over there and play with them together? The more the merrier, they said." I said.

"Yang is going to make the day more fun!" Yang sprints towards the two and immediately tackled Weiss from behind causing them to roll over.

"Yang!" I shouted in panic.

"Ouchie..." Weiss rubs her head and is almost about to cry.

"Hehehe... surprise attack." Yang shows a mischievous face.

Despite her sisters getting hurt from Yang's action, Ruby only laughed and smiled. This girl can sure seem to be evil, or it's just probably me. As she laughs, I, on the other hand, facepalm and sigh.

"Yang, I think I might have you home schooled as well. Since Sylvia will help you, it won't be a problem." I stated.

"Nooo I don't wanna be home schooled! That's so boring, I wanna play more!" She retorted.

"If you had behaved, I wouldn't give you this punishment. Now go say sorry to Weiss." I said.

"But-but... I'm sorry, Weiss. Please forgive me." Yang shows a sad expression and goes towards her sister before helping her up.

"It's okay, I forgive you." Weiss wipes the bits of tears from her eyes.

"Make sure you don't cause trouble for your sisters next time all right, Yang?" I kneeled in front of them and placed my hand on her head.

"Yes, papa." She lowers her head.

"Good. Now if you'll excuse me girls, I still need to do some work. Sylvia is keeping an eye on you girls, don't upset her." I said as I stood back up.

"Bye-bye dada." Ruby waves her tiny hands at me.

Such adorableness as this cannot be ignored! I'm so happy I have a daughter as cute as her.

"See you, Ruby." I kissed her forehead before going up the stairs and entering my room.

Ever since a few weeks ago, I keep getting more and more news from Aron saying that one of the girls' real parent is constantly checking up on her. My curiosity grows more as I think about it. For now, as long as none of my daughters gets into trouble or harm, I'll let this continue. Though I'm having a second thought that I shouldn't, probably keeping a close eye on them will be better in the meantime.

I sat on my office chair and opened my computer to check some files. I let myself spend the rest of my hours doing what needs to be done, sitting down for a couple of hours can be exhausting too.

"I wonder what date it is.." I whispered.

Gazing on the calendar of my phone, my eyes widen a little as I remembered Sylvia's birthday will be in two weeks. How did I know? I've known her for almost two years, and of course I should ask her a question like that to get to know her better. I've been taking her out on a few dates too, that damn Aron. Not like I'm complaining or anything.

Preparing a surprise celebration for her can be a good idea, and I'm sure the girls will also agree to this seeing as how close they are towards each other. All right, that settles it then! I hope she likes it in the end! While being lost in my train of thoughts, I didn't noticed that the girls have sneaked up on me and Weiss had already climbed on my back.

"Daddy, Sylvia said it's time to eat! No more work!" She said near my ear.

"All right, I'm done with my work anyway. Let's go down and eat together, shall we?" I carried her and stand up.

"I wanna have desert! Can we, papa?" Yang requested as she tugs my sleeve.

"If you managed to eat everything on your plate, then we will." I smile.

"Got it! Let's go eat  now!" They began to pull me out of the room.

These kids sure are as energetic as ever.
