Ambrosia had thought it was a good idea, and Jane was quick to agree. Thor would be home that evening - at least, that's what was planned.

They'd made pie for him - with him, even - before. But they'd never thought to introduced him to peach pie a la mode. They hurried to pull the ingredients out and get started. They spent a few hours that morning baking the pie and then hurrying to the store to buy vanilla ice cream. They made it back before 2:00 and decided to watch a movie. "The Princess Bride" was always a good choice. It was almost done when Thor came home, earlier than anyone was expecting.

He kissed Jane and then hugged his daughter, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Welcome home, Daddy."

"Thank you, Ambrosia. It is good to be back."

They all sit down and watch another movie - one Thor hasn't seen yet - called Cats. It's all music, but they enjoy it.  When the movie is over, they eat dinner and Thor recounts his visit to Asgard for them.  Once he's finished, Ambrosia tells him about hanging out Clint's daughter and that Chris Barnes asked her out and she wanted his approval before saying yes. Thor nods, telling her that he thinks it's fine if they decide to "court each other".

Jane brought the pie to the table and nodded at Ambrosia, who hurried into the kitchen.

Thor grinned, "You made peach pie!"

Jane nodded, "Yep, and we have something to go along with it."

Thor frowned in confusion as Ambrosia brought in the tub of vanilla ice cream.

"Are these not separate desserts on Midgard?"

Both girls grin.

"They can be," Jane explains. "But pie with ice cream on top is really good."

"It's called 'a la mode'," Ambrosia added. "So this would be peach pie a la mode."

Jane served them all a piece of pie and Ambrosia put a scoop of ice cream on her piece. Before either of them sat down, Thor  stood, pulled them to his sides, and hugged them.

"I love you both." He kissed both of their heads. "You are always so good to me."

Ambrosia hugged him back and Jane kissed his cheek.

Jane smiled, "Well, we're just glad you let us teach you things. It's good for you, and  us."

Thor smiled at her and they sat down to eat pie.

"We must do this more often!"
