3rd POV:

Blake was still waiting at a cafe near the air base. She was having a cup of coffee while reading her favourite book, The Man With Two Souls. The sound of the jet engines polluted the environment but she doesn't bothered about it.

But, her focus on the book was interrupted when a helicopter flew above the cafe. Blake snapped her head towards the helicopter but then covered her eyes due to the dust that was blew off by the helicopter's blades. When the dust had settled off, she took a look at the helicopter that was hovered before it landed. Her eyes widen when she saw the Chinook that (Y/n) boarded before. She then quickly stood from her seat and ran towards the air base, without paying her coffee.

The Chinook soon landed and lowered its ramp for the troops to exit. The pilots let out a relief sighs as they were glad that the Chinook doesn't take any significant damage and returned safely to the base.

The troops began to unload the wounded as the medics that were stationed at the base rushed to help carry the wounded. Yang with her red eyes due to crying took off her helmet and walked out from the Chinook. She was greeted by Seth and Brett who were walking towards her.

Seth: "Yang!" He shouted her name. Yang didn't responded. Instead, she fell to her knees and began to cry. Seth came close to her and pulled her into hug.

Yang: "I..... He... He sacrificed himself..."

Seth: "Shh shh.. it's okay, Yang... It's okay..." He said and stroked her hair, trying to calm her.

Brett remained silent. His mind was still thinking about (Y/n). But he was interrupted by someone, making him snapped out from his thought.

???: "Hey, Brett! Where's (Y/n)?"

He turned his head and saw Blake. His heart suddenly beating fast. His crush was in front of him. But when she asked about (Y/n), he doesn't sure how to tell her.

Blake's eyes then focused towards Yang who was still being hugged by Seth.

Blake: "What happened? Why Yang is crying?" She asked.

Brett then found his courage to tell her.

Brett: "(Y/n).... He's...gone.." he said and lowered his head. Blake's eyes widen.

Blake: ".....What?"

Brett: "He's gone, Blake... He sacrificed himself.... I'm sorry Blake...."

Blake: "What?! This can't be true! He said that he will come back!"

Seth: "He's not coming back, Blake.... We saw in the live feed of the battle... I'm sorry, Blake.. We've lost a PJ.. We lost him..."

Tears started to form on her eyes. Her body weaken and she fell to her knees.

Blake: "Why.... Why he do that...." She said and began to cry.

Seth: "That is the path that he choose. He sacrificed himself so that other's may live. He may not gonna live with you for the rest of his life. But he's giving you a chance to start a better life." He then broke the hug with Yang and slowly approached her. "I'm so sorry, Blake. I hope that you will not forget him." He put his hand on her shoulder. Then, he walked away.

Yang soon calmed down. She then reached for her pouch to take out a photo of her and (Y/n) before a mission but she felt something else. She pulled it out. It was (Y/n)'s dog tag.

Yang: "Before he died..... He said that he love you.... And he said that he's sorry for not going back safely....." She then approached Blake and put the dog tag around Blake's neck. "This is something for you to remember him... Every time when you think about him, remember that memories of him and his souls will always be with us...." She then patted Blake's head and stood up and walked away.

Blake reached for the dog tag and stared at it. She kept crying and crying until she felt someone hugged her from behind.

Brett: "(Y/n) said something to me. From there, I've made a promise to him...." He said with a caring voice.

Blake: "W..what is it?" She managed to say in between her sobbing.

Brett: "To take care of you for him. If you need anything, I'll always be there for you." With that, he removed his arms and leaved her alone.

Eventually, Blake managed to calm a bit and she leaved the air base. She was broken before because of Sun. Once again, she was broken because of the death of (Y/n).

-2 days later-

A search party that consisted of 2 HH-60 Pave Hawk and 2 Apaches had been established to retrieve (Y/n)'s body for a proper burial. Yang and Brett volunteered for this mission. When they reached the place, there was no enemy activities. As the Pave Hawk landed, Yang and Brett rushed our from the chopper and began their search for (Y/n)'s body. They searched for his body for 2 hours, but failed. Confused by this, Yang contacted TOC to inform them about the situation. TOC said to continue the search. But, after another 4 hours of searching, they failed again and decided to head back to the base and continue the search tomorrow.

-2 weeks later-

For two weeks they searched for his body, but they found nothing. This shocked them as they kept questioning, where was his body? Then, TOC decided to end the search and rescue mission. Yang and Brett was arguing with Seth about this. But eventually, both of them reluctantly accepted it. If he's dead, his body would remained at the battlefield but it wasn't there. Where was his body? That question remains until (Y/n)'s memorial day took place.

TOC decided that if they didn't found his body, they will held a memorial day on the day where the search and rescue mission ended. All of the PJs including his team and Blake attended. All of them wore their formal uniform.

The ceremony took place inside of a hangar belongs to the 2nd Division of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. The stage was set, with a portrait of (Y/n) at the middle of the stage and two Pave Hawks stationed at the back of the stage.

All of them who attended the ceremony began to take their seats. Blake and the rest of (Y/n)'s team sat at the front. Seth then walked up to the stage and stood at the rostrum to start the ceremony. As he was about to start his speech, an unknown voice interrupted him.

???: "How could you start this ceremony without me?!"

All of them snapped their heads towsrds the voice. But they couldn't get a better view that person's face due him stood at the hangar entrance and the lights from outside illuminated the person's body.

Seth: "Who are you?! State your business here!" He shouted.

The person then started to walk until they could see him. He was wearing a khaki t-shirt, multicam plate carrier with 'PJ' patch attach on chest pouch and multicam combat pants. He had a scarf covering his lower face, leaving his eyes uncovered.

???: "Do you really didn't recognize me? Awww I'm sad..."

Yang then noticed something similar. The rifle that he was carrying. Very similar to (Y/n)'s rifle. She then yelled to that person.

Yang: "Where the hell did you get that (Y/n)'s rifle?!"

???: "38th Rescue Squadron, Pedro 64." He then removed his scarf. "Seriously, do your really didn't recognized me?" He said with annoyed face.

All of them had their eyes widen. Some of them had their mouth agape. Why? Because they saw a face that they thought they would never see again. The first one to stand up was Yang.

Yang: "(Y/n)?!" She shouted. She had tears building on her eyes.

(Y/n): "Definitely me." He said and smirked.

Without hesitation, Yang ran towards him.

(Y/n): "W-Wait! I can explain this!" He shouted as he prepared for what's coming next. He thought that he would be punched or slapped by Yang but he was met with her hugging him. It took a moment for him to process what was happening. He then hugged her back.

Yang: "I... I thought... you were dead!" She said between her cries. She buried her head on his shoulder and tighten the hug.

(Y/n): "But I'm not. And I'm here now... You... might want to loose the hug a bit..." He said as he began to gasp for air. Yang realized this then broke the hug.

Yang: "S-sorry...." She said. She was still sobbing. (Y/n) took his time to regain his breathing.

(Y/n): "It's... Okay..." He said and smiled.

Brett: "You lucky son of a bitch!" He yelled. As he was about to dash towards (Y/n), Jeff who was standing next to him smacked his head, making him stumbled.

Jeff: "No curse words in this ceremony!"

Brett looked at him with annoyed face and then dashed towards (Y/n) and pulled him into hug.

(Y/n): "Yes. I know that you're happy seeing me again but don't overact......" He said and returned the hug.

Brett: "Yeah.. sorry for that..." he said after broke the hug.

Seth: "(Y/n)... You're lucky guy..." He said as he walked towards him. Brett stepped aside, making (Y/n) and Seth faced each other. (Y/n) then saluted him.

(Y/n): "Sir. I'm alive and reporting in." He said and Seth returned the salute.

Seth: "Mhmm. But, before that, there's someone that you still haven't meet yet." He said and pointed to Blake. (Y/n) looked at her who was still in shocked. He then excused himself and walked towards her.

(Y/n): "Hey there, Blakey... It's me, (Y/n)." He said and widen his arms for hug. Blake who saw this ran towards him and dived into his hug and began to cry. "Shh shh.. it's okay, Blake. I'm here now.." he said while rubbing her back to calm her. After a while. They broke the hug. But then, Blake slapped him.

(Y/n): "OOOWW! WHY?!" He shouted.

Blake: "That's for making my heart shattered!"

(Y/n): "I'm sorry, okay! I have to- mmpphhh!" He was interrupted by Blake pulled him into a kiss. He was confused for a while but then melted into the kiss. What seems like a normal kiss had turned into a passionate. The crowds began to clap and cheer for them. After battling for about 3 minutes, they pulled away.

Blake: "And that, is for coming back alive.." she said and smiled.

(Y/n): "I took that it is your answer for my question, right?"

Blake: "Yes... Let's start again from the bottom..." (Y/n) then caressed her cheek.

Seth: "Hate to break this ceremony but, how did you survived?" He asked to (Y/n). He then looked and him and started to explain.

(Y/n): "Ahh, about that. Well, I woke up in a tent. Not on a soft bed but, military type. One of them who was tasked to keep an eye on me told me that I was saved by a resistance group who is fighting the White Fang. He told me that one of their patrol units found me with a weak pulse sign. So, they've decided to treat me. That is how I survived."

Seth: "I see. Did you thanked them?"

(Y/n): "Well of course, I do. I didn't lose my manner, yet." He said and smiled.

Seth: "Yeah.. Good to have you back, (Y/n). And when you're feeling better, report to me." He said and patted his shoulder.

(Y/n): "Thanks, and its good to see you again."

Yang: "Allright! The ceremony is over with (Y/n) came back alive! You can now dismissed!" She shouted, making the crowd began to leave the hangar, but not without saying their words to (Y/n). After all of them leaved the hangar, only (Y/n) and Blake left.

(Y/n): "Soo, what's next?" He asked to her.

Blake: "Like you said, we start from the beginning."

(Y/n): "Hhmm... I like that idea. And I'm sorry, for making your heart shattered..."

Blake: "What important now, is that you're here, safe and sound. That is more than enough to heal my shattered heart." She said and smiled. (Y/n) then pecked her lips.

(Y/n): "I love you, Blake.."

Blake: "I love you too, (Y/n).. no one else. Only you..."

-9 years later-

The world of Remnant had undergone a war against the White Fang and had claimed a good number of lives of soldiers and innocent people. But it all ended when a group of SEALs managed to kill the leader of the organizations after pursuing the leader for over 5 years thanks to the Central Intelligence. A new leader of White Fang was born and good thing is that the leader wanted peace. Each leader of the 4 kingdoms agreed to establish a peace talk between Remnant and White Fang. As the result of the peace talk, the war ended with each sides agreed with the conditions that was given.

Since then, each kingdoms decided to build a war memorial to honour the fallen soldiers and innocent civilians. As for Vale, the high command in the military decided to build a museum for honouring the fallen soldiers from every branch in Vale's military forces. Beacon Air Base got its own museum for the PJs.

Yang has been promoted to Captain and now a detachment commander for Pedro 64, replacing Seth who has retired from active duty. Eventually, she got married with Jeff and have 3 children. Brett became a squad leader, replacing Yang after she got promoted.

As for Sun, he was sentenced in prison for life for many attempts on bribing the high command to disavowed Pedro 64 and selling information to the enemy about the JSOC mission that went wrong.

As for (Y/n) and Blake, they started all of it from the beginning. Things were then getting better as both of them got married, have 2 children, son ans daughter which both of them were faunus and lived peacefully in Vale. (Y/n) retired as an active duty PJ and became and instructor, inspire and motivate the recruits on their journey of becoming a PJ. Blake decided to retire from military duties and became housewife while raising their kids. Following the days, months and years, their children grew up and both of them followed their father's footsteps on becoming a PJ. After everything that they went through together, (Y/n) and Blake couldn't be happier with the way their loves turned out until their last breath.

And this, is where the tale of a brave Pararescue, with his journey filled with actions, happiness and sadness had come to an end. His story will continued to inspire the people to do something different that most of the people don't want to.
