Chapter One.

Jungkook knew two things for certain

1. He was incredibly hungover.

2. Park Jimin was sprawled across his chest.

"Hyung you best not be naked." Jungkook groaned.

"I'm fully clothed, sorry to disappoint bunny boy." Jimin giggled out his reply, stretching as he rolled over.

Knowing full well that his loft apartment would be filled with sunlight Jungkook was hesitant to open his eyes, his head was already pounding. "Why are you here?" Jungkook grumbled, wincing when his eyes fully opened.

"Rude." Jimin tutted as he rolled over to grab his phone from the floor. "I remember nothing after my sixth beer so fuck knows how I ended up here, I blame you."

"Why the fuck is this my fault?" Jungkook retorted, slapping away Jimin's leg which was draped over his.

Jimin smirked, loving how easy it was to rile his friend up especially after a heavy night of drinking. "Well, it was you that wanted to go out last night. 'Chiiiiim, we're the only single ones left now, come out and get shitfaced with me.' Remember that?"

"I vaguely remember something like that, still not my fault though."

"Whatever, I don't have work until later so make me some breakfast."

Jungkook barked out a laugh, tone playful as he retorted with a "Make your own breakfast short stack, I'm going to take a shower." Jungkook's legs protested as he pushed himself up, quads burning as he shifted to the edge of his bed. "Fuck, how much did we dance last night? I can barely move." The younger boy dropped his head back, sighing out in satisfaction as it cracked in all the right places.

"I remember you challenging me to a dance off, which you then subsequently lost." Jimin giggled, eyes on his phone screen as he typed out a message.

"Sounds like something I would do." Jungkook replied, the taste of hops on his tongue causing him to shudder. He really needed to brush his teeth.

"Can you believe Tae finally had the courage to ask Tink to be official?" Jimin called out as Jungkook shuffled across the hall to his bathroom.

"Is that who you're texting?"

"Yeah, he apparently stayed over at Tink's place last night and get this." There was a pause, shuffling of feet before Jimin appeared in the doorway.

"Git whuff?" Jungkook spoke around the toothbrush now in his mouth.

"She decided not to get the tattoo over her scarring, finally settled on her back. I'm so happy for her, that takes some serious gumption."

Jungkook grinned like an idiot, eyes fond. He liked Tink, he admired her and so this latest development was the best possible news.

"You really like her don't you?" Jimin leaned against the frame, dark hair falling across puffy eyes.

Jungkook rinsed out his mouth before walking across to the shower, waiting for the water to reach a warm enough temperature. "I respect her, what she's been through. I guess we just kind of connected at the barbeque dinner, we actually have lots in common."

"I haven't seen her since the dinner, I should make more of an effort to get to know her."

"I know Tae would appreciate that." Jungkook replied before shooing Jimin out of the bathroom, kicking the door closed as the elder grumbled.

"Guess I'm making breakfast then?"

"That would be great hyung, your the best." Jungkook smirked as he stood beneath the shower head, toes flinching as they touched the chilled ceramic floor, lukewarm drops of water darkening his hair before they trickled down a muscular back filled with swirls of black ink.

A cross on his nape.

Dragon staking claim down the spine.

His body was a canvas depicting the many trails and tribulations of his life, each one no matter how painful there to remind him of what he had experienced, what he had overcome and in some cases what he was still fighting for or aspiring to be. The cross was his first tattoo, a drunken mistake during his emo phase which he regrets but will never cover as it's a part of his story. The dragon with scales a blazing red, the only splash of colour decorating his skin serving as a reminder to always be bold, have courage no matter how many times he may feel the opposite.

일곱 across each wrist.

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

The 일곱 (seven) there to remind Jungkook of himself and the six most important people in his life, his hyungs, the ones who helped to shape the man he was today. The second a reminder that it's okay to fall in love, that just because his parents couldn't make each other happy it doesn't mean it's something he should fear. He wants to love, he wants to raise a family someday.

The final one, his most prized tattoo is the name beneath one of the sevens on his left arm.

Seokjin.

In memory of not just a friend but brother, someone who still inspires him to this day. To make something of himself, to do all the things that scare you because are you truly living if you deny them.

Jungkook wants to live fast, live hard. He doesn't want one regret. Jungkook isn't perfect, far from it. He gets high when he wants to shut things out, hits the gym whenever he needs to release pent up frustration and sometimes acts first and thinks later but he wouldn't be Jeon Jungkook if he didn't do these things.

He doesn't want to be anyone else but himself, his true self.

He owns a beautiful loft apartment, runs his own garage and is proud to call himself a highly competent and skilled mechanic. Some people may say this isn't much, that he can achieve more but Jungkook is happy.

He just wants someone to share this with.

"We're the only single ones left now."

He somewhat recalls saying that to Jimin, will truthfully admit he was jealous of Taehyung for finding someone as amazing as Tink.

He wants that.

He wants to find his person.

It's not a bad thing to not want that, some people prefer to be single and each to their own is what Jungkook says but for him personally he wants it. He wants what his parents lost, what they so easily gave up on. He wants to prove to them, to show them that love can last.

Maybe he wants to prove that to himself too.

If he said any of this to anyone they would most likely laugh, finding it absurd that Jeon Jungkook....tattooed bad boy would be such a romantic.

But you know what they say.

Never judge a book by its cover.

He steps out of the shower minutes later, towel wrapped around his waist, fingers tracing down to the empty space across his ribcage.

In two days that space will be filled, the words already decided

We are all stars waiting for someone to handle our supernova.

Jungkook still hasn't given up hope that someday...someone will be his nova.

((You need to read Siren to understand this story as it's a spinoff where Jungkook will find his Y/N! I will refer to Taehyung's Y/N as Tink in this story so as not to get things confused and Jungkook's Y/N will be referred to as Nova when they finally meet 👀💜 are you excited? Looking forward to seeing what kind of Y/N she will be? What kind would you like? Someone a little more feisty? 👀💜 what do you think of Jungkook so far?))
