(18) WAIT OF THE DUO

Trust, a balanced reciprocation of trusting and being trusted in return takes relations from the journey of tenderness to the joy of winning against the toughness of life. The bond of Lord Narayan and little Dhruv was also a tender one when he had heard about Narayan for the first time, but as soon as Dhruv bound the thread of trust on that bond it became the strongest one.

The bond of a child with mother is tender in the same way just like a little one who comes across devotion of God for the first time. What will be the direction of life for the little one that gets decided by the way he or she chooses after that.

Subhadra was trying her best to watch the surrounding of Abhimanyu who was totally ignorant about the reality of dice game which had destroyed both peace and prosperity of his family. She had decided to keep him away from the judgements about his family given by people for a particular period of time.

No doubt Abhimanyu had trust on her mother, but curiosity especially childhood curiosity was something which could be turned into irresistible. That was what Subhadra didn't wish for. Abhimanyu's age was really tender to face the terrible truth of dice game.

On one fine day Subhadra was going to call Abhimanyu from practice arena. The young boy used to spend most of his leisure in practicing his moves of archery for sharpening his skills. Since practice had become his pleasure Subhadra most had to come to call him anytime it was needed.

"Prince! Take this cloth piece, and wash your face," two maids were standing to provide necessary service to the prince after he completion of his practice. One of them handed the golden container of water to Abhimanyu.

"Prince Abhimanyu is so skilled in archery just like his father. He resembles like his father even. Princess Subhadra is a lucky mother," first maid complimented.

"But the tragedy of fate is that he had to bear the wrong deeds of his elders," the second one sighed looking at Abhimanyu who was wiping his face after washing face.

"As much as king Yudhishthir was responsible for this fateful situation his brothers were also equally responsible. No one of them could stop their elder brother when he was going beyond his rights of stalking in dice game," as a woman it was obvious for the first maid to criticize Yudhishthir who had staked Draupadi in dice game.

Subhadra came forward putting an end to the discussion of maids abruptly.

"Greetings, Princess Subhadra. We were just.......," maids were stammering in search of words.

"You were just expressing your thoughts. I don't have any objections. No matter how much compelling the situation is a person shall never let that capture his or her consideration for humanity," Subhadra's calmness wasn't a matter of surprise for maids. They had never seen her annoyed all of sudden.

"Whatever had happened in dice game was inhumane, but along with Pandav brothers many other persons were also responsible for that inhumane instance," Subhadra conveyed the truth which often used to get less consideration in comparison of Yudhishthir's action of staking Draupadi.

"We are sorry, Princess!" The maids apologized, together.

"Never be sorry for sharing your opinion till the time your words support decency," smiling at the maids Subhadra let them leave the place.

"Greetings, Maa! Let's go for lunch," Abhimanyu ran to Subhadra, smilingly.

"Don't you want to ask anything, Abhi?" Subhadra wondered why her son was acting like as if he didn't hear anything from maids.

"About what, Maa?" Abhimanyu asked.

"Didn't you hear anything some while ago?" Being serious she was confirming.

"I hear everything, but I don't care. I don't have to do anything with that," he replied simply as if it was so easy for him.

"Aren't you curious after hearing their conversation?" He was making her curious instead of getting curious as per her expectation.

"I could have been curious if I hadn't have you. I have the best mother who chooses the best for me. It's not time for me to get into anything which my mother doesn't consider good enough for me," he expressed her heart sensibly making her smile in one of the most beautiful shades.

"We hear so many voices around us, but we have to chose wisely whom to hear, and whom not to hear. I have already chosen whom to hear," his philosophical tone was a pleasure to listen.

"Whom, Abhi?" She was lost while looking at him.

"The owner of voice who sings lullaby for me, the one who keeps calling my name in concern if she doesn't find me, the one who narrates stories of high morals to me, and the one who's staring at me now as if I don't belong to this planet," he chuckled at the last sentence followed by her.

"May you be remembered as a glorious son for forever, my dear. I am so proud of you," ruffling his hairs she beamed with proud.

"Maa, when mamashri will return after meeting pitashri? I am waiting for him. I have to hear about pitashri from mamashri," Abhimanyu was missing Arjun more in eagerness of getting his message from Kanha.

"Your mamashri will return soon. Let's go," holding his hand she led him inside the palace.

Kanha who had gone to meet Pandav brothers in forest was strolling with Arjun after suggesting everyone about their next moves. Parth and Madhav can never miss a chance to spend quality time with each other no matter what the situation was.

"Well done, Parth!" Kanha complimented.

"I haven't done anything to be praised by you. By the way for what this compliment meant for?" Arjun remembered how Kanha got angry when Arjun and his brothers failed to protect Draupadi.

"For not breaking down completely after dice game, for being an optimistic amidst of odds, for not losing yourself to your loss, and most importantly for bringing back everyone to the tracks of normalcy," Kanha's praise filled gaze created its own sensation inside Arjun.

"That's the least I could do, Madhav!" lowering eyes Arjun smiled.

"Why are you blushing in front of me like a girl who has come across her lover for the first time," a mischievous smile was moving on Kanha's lips at its own pace.

"You are a lover to everyone who loves you, aren't you? To be honest, I can't resist your compliments," Arjun didn't want to miss Kanha's mischievous expression. So, he looked at Kanha with the urge of capturing the most pleasant sight in his eyes.

"Develop resistance inside you, Parth. After completing penance you will go to heaven for acquiring divine weapons. What if any celestial nymph compliments you there being fascinated by your charm?" Kanha was sure about Arjun's success in his penance. Even Kanha's playful warning made Arjun more confident over himself.

"Are you making me alert as a friend or as Subhi's brother?" Arjun reciprocated Kanha's playfulness.

"Before being your brother in law, I am your friend, right?" The saga of playfulness proceeded on.

"But mostly you support Subhi over me," the flashbacks of some happy moments danced in Arjun's mind.

"I am your friend before being your brother in law, but that doesn't mean I will support you over the girl who's not only a sister but also a mother to me," Kanha cleared Subhadra's specialty for himself.

"I will miss you, Madhav!" Amidst of playfulness even Arjun couldn't forget that he wouldn't be able to meet Kanha for a longer and uncertain period of time.

"You don't need to miss the one who moves in and out as your breath. Don't I mean the same to you?" Affection shone in Kanha's eyes.

"I will wait for our next meeting, Madhav!" Arjun hugged Kanha the tightest to compensate all those time he was going to long for Kanha's touch.

"Vijay is your name. You are meant to be victorious. Come back justifying your name once more, Parth!" Arjun was grasping the essence of each word said by Kanha in heart and mind gripping him tighter than before.

A new journey of Vijay was about to start not only to be victorious for himself, but for all those virtues who were struggling against the vices of era of Dwapar.
