(1) PARTED YET PROMISED

Before and after storm the scenario seems too serene. Not serenity, it would be better to address that as silence. Before the arrival of storm there's silence in tension and afterwards there's silence of torment. The heart which was tensed before the storm tried it's spirit amidst the toughness of post effects of storm so that next day could be a better one, and like this one day the disastrous effects had to lose its dominance.

Subhadra was going to face the days brought by the biggest storm of her life, the days containing the length of thirteen years resulted due to the dice game.

She woke up with a new sunrise in Dwarka. She arrived at there yesterday. It was going to be her first day in Dwarka, the first day to start her role as a single parent.

After waking up she headed towards her balcony. Soothing sun rays wished her good morning. She saw Abhimanyu along with her brothers was doing warm up before practicing yoga. That sight reasoned a serene expression over her face.

She headed back to her chamber, completed her bath, and sat before mirror to get ready. Before she could start two pairs of affectionate hands joined her.

"Bhabhi maa! Rukmini bhabhi! Greetings to both of you," Subhadra stood up quickly as soon as she sensed her sisters in law.

"Are we unexpected here?" Revati made Subhadra sit.

"It's not that, but at this early hour!" Subhadra exclaimed once more.

"Before your marriage your sisters in law used to make you ready for your day, right?" Rukmini was taking out hair accessories for Subhadra.

"But I don't need much adornment, Bhabhi! At least not in these days," Subhadra uttered the last phrase in low voice.

"We know that, Gudiya. We will make you ready as per your choice," Revati assured Subhadra while braiding her hairs.

"If you won't let us then we have to call Satyabhama, and you know about her strictness regarding this," Before Subhadra could say something Rukmini's playful warning restricted her.

"So, better sit quietly like my obedient Kanha," Noticing Subhadra's normal expression Revati initiated a motive of making Subhadra smile.

"Your brother in law and obedient!" This time it's Rukmini who exclaimed.

"I don't know about others, but for me my Kanha is obedient, and my Gudiya too," Revati caressed Subhadra's hairs before putting veil over it.

The ladies exchanged smiles among themselves. After getting ready Subhadra walked straight into garden. It was her routine to visit garden every morning for plucking flowers and for admiring his prince charming Arjun during his practice, of course.

Abhimanyu along with his brothers and cousins was doing yoga. Subhadra stood at a distance examining them. Abhimanyu and Shrutakarma's faces reminded her of Arjun. Abhimanyu had the cheerful gesture of Arjun while Shrutakarma had the calmness of Arjun.

"He's always around you," A voice rang in Subhadra's ears.

"Good morning, Bhratashri! Yes, he is always around yet I wonder about him," Kanha side hugged Subhadra in assurance.

"You need some changes in your lifestyle," He said in a meaningful voice.

"I agree. As a single mother now I have to be fully dedicated towards my responsibilities," She assumed his indication in an obvious way.

"I was referring the changes of your lifestyle which would play a significant role for Parth," After listening him she looked at him in surprise.

Before she could recover herself from that surprised state he went towards the boys who had completed their yoga.

A evil heart can never have peace. That celebrates victory obtained out of his conspiracy, but the chaos of fear cracks it's existence each time, because that victory isn't a true one.

"Mamahri, why are you tensed still? Those Pandav brothers had gone for exile, a never ending exile," Dushashan laughed like a manic.

"How can you be sure about the continuity of their exile? Their exile has just started," Shakuni threw an irritated glare towards Dushashan.

"That's what I meant, Mamshri. Their exile has just started. So, why are you worrying about him? Let's celebrate and enjoy," Dushashan encountered while pouring wine into his glass.

"You are foolish, no doubt. No need to reveal that openly. If their incognito gets successful then they will drag us towards death," Shakuni's sweet coated sarcastic voice caused no affect on a half drunken Dushashan.

"We will catch them successfully before that, and they have to pass another twelve years in forest," Duryodhan stated firmly gripping his wine glass.

"Even their sons are also safe in Dwarka," Shakuni sounded serious this time.

"Don't say that you are scared of those tiny mini boys," Dushashan laughed again.

"They are sons of mighty Pandav brothers. Don't forget that. They inherit the traits of their fathers," This warning of Shakuni collided with air against the carelessness of brothers duo.

"Pandav brothers have other sons too," Duryodhan reminded Shakuni.

"But we can expect those sons the least in battle field as they share a distant bond with their fathers," Shakuni put forward a considerable reason.

"Whatever it's time for me to explore the joy of being unopposed emperor of whole Aryavrat. After all Yudhishthir, the former emperor of Aryavrat had lost his everything to me," Duryodhan hit his wine glass with his brother's ignoring his uncle.

Promises keep us connected with our dear ones unlike memories. In fact promise is a part of memory, inspiring in its own way. Arjun was smiling at rising Sun which was ready to script the day with its spreading rays.

"What's the reason of your smile, Bhrata Arjun?" Nakul came closer to Arjun.

"Guess yourself, Nakul!" Nakul was granted a chance to show his understanding towards his brother.

"Subhadra bhabhi, obviously!" Nakul replied.

"I promised her to start each day with smile. She too promised the same to me. I can't afford to break my promise towards her once more," Arjun's smile lost its shape for a short, but he got that back over his lips again.

They promised each other to get a smile from each other irrespective of distance and situation.
