That was not supposed to be - none of that, was supposed to be.
Seungmin's lips were not supposed to be against his and, according to his still dreadful heart, he was not supposed to enjoy it. His heartbeats were not supposed to quicken and his knees were not supposed to feel weak. His hands were not supposed to to find and grip Seungmin's waist and, he was not supposed to kiss back...
But he did- Hyunjin did kiss Seungmin under that godly moonlight. But as the stars littered the sky above their heads, and as few brushes of wind blew past their faces, he couldn't help but deepen the kiss- he couldn't help but tilt his head to the side while Seungmin did the same and, he couldn't help but draw both arms higher up the younger's torso to pull their bodies closer together, while Seungmin's found his neck.
But with the need for oxygen being the priority of both their bodies, they pulled away, eyes wide and, moist lips parted as if neither could believe what they had just did. Hyunjin's arms dropped from the shorter's body, whereas Seungmin's swiftly lifted from his neck to meet their rightful sides. And though the dark background highlighting the bright light of the sky's starry ornaments would in no way sellout the red tints coating their cheeks on its own, the streetlights did, making each blush even brighter at the recognition of the facial effect of their intimacy.
"I- I'm sorry." Hyunjin had gulped before speaking, tone soft and, hands anxiously rubbing together behind his back. "I- I shouldn't have- I'm sorry-"
"N-no... it's fine... I- I liked it." Seungmin bit his lower lip after his stuttered line, eyes gazing down at his feet as his toes wiggled nervously inside of his sandals and, body shifting to reclaim a seat on the same bench at which they had stood from just few minutes before. "Can we stay a little longer... to talk about it?"
Nodding, Hyunjin sat down too, small smile stretching his crimson cheeks up, and one hand lifting to brush some hair back from his forehead in clever attempt to rid some of its cold sweat. "I- I don't even know what to say." He huffed out a breath as he spoke, palms opening in a hopeless manner above his thighs, and head turning to give his eyes a proper view of the lovely boy at his side. "I really don't know what to say."
"Are you over him?" Seungmin questioned bluntly, internally swearing at the slight crack that had sounded with his words as it so easily gave off an idea as to just how nervous he actually was, in that moment. "I know it's been like three months since your breakup but... are you really over him?"
Sighing, Hyunjin looked down, one sweaty palm lifting to rest on the younger's clothed knee, and eyes only meeting the latter's when that gaze - the caring one that he had already grown accustomed to - met and settled on his side profile. "I wouldn't be if we hadn't grown closer..." He spoke rather softly, but still loud enough for the male at his side to decipher his every word despite the constant revving of traffic behind. "I- You help me heal, Seungmin. I didn't want to- I was scared of moving on but, you help me heal..."
"How so?"
"You're making this harder for me." Hyunjin chuckled, heart softening when an equally contented sound escaped the other's lips and, eyes closing for a brief moment as if the darkness would somehow aid in his mind's task of organizing the proper flow of words. "I- since we've grown closer... you've been making me really happy, you know... and I can only hope that I've been helping you to move on too..."
"You have..."
"I have?"
"Yeah... I loved him, but he wasn't good for me... And it'd be a lie to say I don't miss him sometimes, even if it's been so long... but I've been doing much better since you came along." Seungmin spoke skeptically, gaze no longer lingering on the gorgeous features next to him, but rather on his sweaty palm as his hand lifted to rest against Hyunjin's on his knee. "And I've been wanting to tell you that... but I didn't want to ruin our friendship... But when I tripped... and you caught me... and kissed me just now... I had to..."
"I miss him..."
"Mhm. I know, and I understand." Seungmin pouted as he spoke, the noticeable absence of the slight bit of hope that had lingered in the tone of his earlier speeches bringing some concern to Hyunjin's ears, thus forcing him to properly expound on the the three words that he had so innocently sounded.
"But I'm glad I have you... He's not coming back... and even if he was... I have you..." Hyunjin smiled as he spoke, face leaning in to leave a light peck on the younger's cheek, and smile brightening when a deep shade of pink didn't hesitate to darken the paler shade of Seungmin's skin. "And I mean, there's no need to rush anything, but I really would like to see where this goes..."
Smiling, Seungmin nodded repetitively, upper body leaning closer to Hyunjin's, and head resting on the latter's shoulder as their hands interlocked ever so sweetly on that same knee.
They felt free.
The heaviness that constantly weighed down their hearts since both their breakups seemed to be somewhat lifted and, they each could start moving on.
The smiles of their exes that'd haunt them with the fact that they were not the root of such joy could finally stop, and just leave their minds in arrant peace and confidence to draw such expressions of contentment upon each other's faces.
The ghosting of their past lover's lips against theirs, or palm against some exposed part of their skin, could cease, and leave their flesh in utmost purity to just wait for the right time at which their touches would find and claim each other.
And the kiss that they shared; it was amazing. More amazing than those lustful ones that Seungmin had always blindly shared with the man that was using him and, more favorable than those that Hyunjin had shared with the man that was only leading him on.
The way that their lips had met, goodness, it was so beautifully memorable. And sitting there, they both wanted that again.
They both wanted that spark in their hearts again and, they both wanted to feel the pink, plump pair of flesh of each other again.
So Seungmin leaned off of Hyunjin's shoulder, eyes gazing ever so adoringly into the older's eyes before fluttering down to his slightly parted lips.
And as if they shared the same trend of thought in that moment, Hyunjin's eyes also found and lingered on the other's, face leaning in slowly and, eyes closing when the warmth of Seungmin's breath, contradictory to the cold air surrounding them, could be felt against his cheeks, patently indicating just how close they already were.
And then they kissed, again, each basking in the softness of the other's lips and, both lifting one hand to cup an opposite cheek. Their heads moved with their lips, and their chests vibrated with the rapid thumping of their hearts; so fast as if it were attempting to calm the swarm of butterflies in both their stomachs with its vibrations.
That was the start to a new beginning...
That was a checkpoint along their road of healing, just indicating that the hardest parts of tears and sleepless nights were over, and that it was time to walk just a little bit further, to satisfactorily meet the endpoint of love.
And they were both willing, thankfully- they were both willing to walk that road together, and eventually love each other. Because they deserved it.
Seungmin and Hyunjin deserved a happy ending.
So with one last suck of the lips, both boys pulled away, soft pants blowing out through their open mouths, and eye contact not once breaking for at least a minute or so. And then Hyunjin spoke up, voice sort of throaty yet so soothing, and the light shudder quivering Seungmin's lips allowing his suggestion to make even more sense.
"Let's head back, yeah? You seem cold."
"Yeah..."

The foundation of the wall was white, bringing life to the blue stripes of wallpaper that patterned it on one side of the room while leaving the other with a more feminine sting of pink stripes and fluffy decorations. And just for the extra touch that Chan had practically begged to be included, just above each crib stood a name tag; one with, "B. Noah" and the other with, "B. H. Niah"; their silver carving just highlighting the rich simplicity of that nursery.
With one hand stroking the rather large stomach blocking off the majority of the view of his feet, and the other gliding his fingers over the edge of his unborn daughter's crib, a tear couldn't help but drip down Felix's cheeks at the thorough observation of not only his, but his boyfriend's hard work. And then he sniffled, hand lifting from the made crib to wipe his face, and embarrassed chuckle leaving his lips at the recognition of a smirking Chan eyeing him from his silent post at the doorframe.
"When did you get back?" He questioned cautiously, legs guiding him forward to wrap both arms around the older and, face already leaning in to kiss those lips that he always loved to feel against his. "And what did I tell you about scaring me?"
Kissing back, Chan giggled, hands caressing his lover's waist before finding and stroking his stretched stomach, and eyes gazing down into the equally loving ones of the boy before him. "I came home early tonight, because I want to be here in time for your birthday... And sorry for scaring you, love. I didn't mean to."
Smiling, Felix pulled away, cheeks decorated with a deep blush as if it were their very first intimate moment, and eyes glancing down at Chan's bare feet since his were completely out of visual range due to the obstruction of his larger tummy. "You don't need to cut your working time short just for me, Channie. You still need to produce quality stuff, you know. It's not like anything is already confirmed to the public..."
"You're more important to me than the public, Felix." Chan pecked his lips after that line, the small smile of reassurance on his face tickling Felix's sensitive hormones to call more tears down his cheeks. "And don't worry, I won't slack off. After all, I need to give them some good stuff to make up for the news when everything is made public- when the twins are here."
"Mhm." Felix hummed as he slid his arms down from the older's shoulders, the deep sigh leaving his lips suddenly dampening the atmosphere between them, and forcing Chan's expression into one of sincere worry and concern. But then he continued to speak, legs strolling groggily through the hallway and into the kitchen for some leftover brownies that'd hopefully calm his sudden anxiety, and eyes too glossy to even muster up the strength to look up at his boyfriend. "I just- I'm kind of scared, you know? I mean, there has been so many rumors already just from you being seen here a few times, so imagine them finding out you have babies..."
"Lix-"
"No because listen, people are going to talk a lot of shit, Chan. People might want you to leave the group, and people are going to try to cancel you-"
"Lix, where is all of this coming from?" Chan questioned slowly, genuine concern laced in his tone, and careful steps taking him closer to his lover's side behind of the counter. "You've never went on like this about it... Did something happen? Did somebody say something to you?"
"I'm just scared, Chan." Felix sniffled as he spoke, one hand carelessly stuffing his mouth with one slice of brownie, while the other held on to the plastic bowl so unreasonably securely. "The kids are due next month, and I'm scared." He swallowed thickly, wasting no time before stuffing his cheeks with another piece of the chocolate treat. "I read up on a few idols who had situations similar to this in the past, and it wasn't easy for them, Chan. People will do things like call you out for premarital sex and all that. Those crazier fans will feel betrayed because they want you, and- It's all so much... So much attention, not just for you, but for me and the twins-"
"Hey hey hey, Felix, calm down." Chan spoke soothingly, hands reaching to keep Felix's from carrying yet another brownie into his mouth. Sighing, he closed up the container of treats, strolling to place it back into the refrigerator, and fighting every impulse to shed his own tears as the younger's low sobs could be heard just behind of him. "Lix, listen, don't stress. Don't stress about all of that, please. Nobody will hurt you, or the twins. Every backlash from the public is expected, and I'm ready. My company knows, and they're on my side, so as long as I handle things professionally, we don't have to worry..."
Sniffling, Felix rubbed both fists over his freckled cheeks, big eyes staring back at his boyfriend as the latter hugged him from behind, and deep sigh quivering his lips when Chan's comforting gaze practically forced his head to mod in understanding. "I get it." He spoke lowly, body shifting in the older's hold to kiss him softly and, small smile drawing up his rosy cheeks when Chan's lips left his to kiss at his neck amorously.
"Just promise- promise that everything will be okay..."
"I promise that everything will be okay, Felix." Chan smiled as he spoke, hands caressing the shorter's clothed back and, eyes gazing down at those winsomely distributed freckles that he just could never get enough of. "I promise that I won't leave you again, like I did in the past... I promise to do my best in raising our kids... I promise to always protect the three of you to the best of my ability... I promise to always work hard to provide for you guys... And I promise to love you for as long as I live, Felix."
"Fuck you."
"W-what?"
"Fuck you, Chan. I don't want to cry." Felix sobbed into the older's shoulder, fist raising to thump his chest weakly and, face nuzzling further into the cloth of the latter's sweater in attempt to muffle his cries into an even quieter sound, not at all caring about the marks that his mucus and tears would leave after. "I love you too... And I promise to do my best in everything too..."
"As long as these tears are of joy, then it's okay with me..."
"Mhm... But, Channie?"
"Pumpkin?"
"Can I- should I tell my friend that we're together now?" Felix asked skeptically, lower lip trapped in between his teeth as his tear-stained face lifted to look up at his lover. "I mean, he's been understanding enough to not bug me, and understand when he can't come over... but I think it's about time... And he's big fan, so I doubt he'll be upset."
"Well... if you're comfortable, then go ahead, Lix. I trust you, and you trust him, so I trust that he's trustworthy." Chan chuckled with his tongue twister, exaggerating a wince when Felix landed a playful slap on his arm before pulling away completely. "What was that for?"
"For giving me a headache."
"Aw, I gave my baby Lixie a headache?" Chan teased as he followed the boy into their bedroom, laughter growing in volume at the childish glare shot at him as the younger pulled off his T- shirt, and smile growing wider at the clearer view of the stretched skin that grew his planted seeds so beautifully. "Don't tell me that my pretty boyfriend is mad at me..."
"Chan, stop." Felix scoffed as he collected a slack vest from his draw to cover up his torso, fighting back a blush when Chan's arms found his waist, and when those soft lips found his neck to once again, flatter it with kisses. "Chan..."
Humming with a smirk, Chan dragged them both to the bed, carefully laying Felix down on his back, and hastily discarding his own added heat of a hoodie. "Tell me, is my Lixie excited for his birthday? Today was actually one of my member's, and they had cake and everything but, I didn't stay for any because I wanted to come home."
"You missed a birthday party because of me?" Felix frowned as he spoke, eyes losing themselves in a gaze at Chan's most prominent dimple that was so beautifully boasted by the parting of his lips, and hand pulling the older down by his neck to plant a sweet kiss on that same, unique feature. "You didn't need to do that, Channie. They're your-"
"Stop feeing guilty. Jisung would much rather share it with his boyfriend anyway." Chan chuckled lightly before retracting from the other's hold to lay on his side of the bed, but not before sliding off the black T-shirt that secluded those abs that Felix had always adored. "And as I said before, I want to spend every minute of your birthday with you."
"Every?"
"Every."
