Chapter 5
(I'm sorry about the huge delay of updates. School's been painful and I've been working on a very long one-shot because I want it to be a one-shot and no double chapters, but I'm nowhere near the ending (at this time of writing this) and it's really huge lol
Onto the story!)
------------------Galaxy Steve's POV----------------
He frowned at Rainbow Steve, watching him cautiously.
The rainbow-coloured Steve, who was normally really happy and bubbly, was snappy and very obviously angry.
Light Steve, Time Steve, Elemental Steve, Rainbow Steve, Galaxy Steve and a few Colourless Guards were sitting around a table, discussing the plan of action on how to get Sabre back.
Rainbow Steve wasn't contributing, he just sat there with his head down, eyes closed and fists clenched.
Galaxy Steve worried for him, he knew Rainbow Steve was really close to Sabre and definitely didn't take it easy to him being captured by the enemy.
Rainbow Steve's head flashed up as everyone started standing up, looking a bit surprised.
"Welcome back to Earth, Rainbow Steve." Galaxy Steve joked, trying to loosen the mood a bit.
Rainbow Steve glared at him, then sighed. "What's the plan? I wasn't really listening much..." Rainbow Steve admitted, crossing his arms. (salty Rainbow lol)
"We're going to sneak in disguised as figures of Darkness as best as we can. Break Sabre out and run...I must admit, it's not the best plan. If things turn to worst and we get found out, we just attack." Galaxy Steve frowned, repeating the plan in his head. It's 100% a terrible plan...but it is possible that it could work. If the Darkness is dumb enough to not think about it.
Rainbow Steve sighed, then stood up. "Look, I'm sorry. I was rude to you in the past and I was rude to you now. It was wrong of me, I should've thought of what I was saying before. Although...it was fun to threaten you with sticks." Rainbow Steve flashed him a quick smile.
Galaxy Steve was shocked for a moment, then smiled. "Thank you. And threatening me with sticks was not fun for me." Galaxy Steve lifted one eyebrow. He was glad Rainbow Steve was kind of recovering from Sabre being gone temporarily.
Rainbow Steve smirked, then turned around and left the building. Galaxy Steve followed with a large smile on his face.
That smile was wiped off his face when he exited the building to face Rainbow Steve with a stick in his hand with a cheeky grin.
Galaxy Steve yelped and ran, Rainbow Steve dashing after him. "Come back, Galaxy!"
"NO! I do not want to face a Rainbow Steve with a stick today, thank you!" Galaxy Steve turned his head around and glared at Rainbow Steve.
Rainbow Steve laughed and stopped, seeming to calm down. "Thanks for cheering me up, Galaxy. I really needed that."
Galaxy Steve laughed. "I could tell. We should probably get ready now, we're going tomorrow." Galaxy Steve walked past him and yelped as he felt Rainbow Steve slap his arm with a stick.
"Got you." Rainbow Steve chuckled and ran off, leaving Galaxy Steve behind.
"Ow.." Galaxy Steve chuckled and followed him.
------------------------The Day of Freeing Sabre-------------------
Galaxy Steve smiled at Elemental Steve and Time Steve talking. They had grown up without him there and Galaxy Steve regretted that, but it made them closer as brothers than he had ever been with Void Steve, and ever will.
(flashback time!)
He didn't know how, but he knew he was a Steve. The Steve glanced sideways and spotted two other Steves. One was next to him, he was a blueish-purple and he had a grey hoodie on his lap. (they're sitting down) He looked up at the Steve in front of them. He was wearing a teal shirt with lavender pants and grey shoes. He had fully blue eyes glowing at them.
"I'm Origin Steve, your creator, or father. Your names are Galaxy Steve and Zero Steve." Origin Steve pointed at each of them when naming them. Galaxy Steve blinked at Zero Steve, realizing that Zero Steve had glowing red eyes. I wonder what I look like? Galaxy Steve thought, a small smile on his face.
Then someone else walked up to them, golden and white wings folded up on his back. He wore what seemed to be a grey blindfold wrapped around his neck, which was supposed to cover his eyes. One eye was black with a white pupil, and green 0s and 1s dancing around in it, the other one was a normal green, the same green as the 0s and 1s. The winged individual had a caring smile on his face.
"That's my Dad. Your Grandfather." Dad smiled, waving to the winged 'Steve'.
He smiled, flaring his wings slightly as if stretching them. Galaxy Steve noticed that Dad had smaller white wings curled up on his back.
Galaxy Steve felt around on his back but found no wings, Zero Steve didn't have any either. I guess the wings get smaller as it goes down the generation? Because Dad has small wings, meaning that either Zero Steve and I would have even smaller wings or no wings, so I guess we got no wings. It's fine, it's not very important anyway. Galaxy Steve smiled, blinking up at his family.
---------Time skip-------------
Galaxy Steve was crouched behind a tree with Zero Steve, watching in horror as Dad and Grandad fought with the new creation.
Galaxy Steve didn't know his name, but all he knew that the new creation immediately attacked them and tried to kill them.
Dad was knocked back and he crouched on the grass, clutching a wound on his left eye. Grandad turned and rushed towards Dad, caught off-guard when the new creation blasted at him.
Grandad created a portal and gestured Zero Steve and Galaxy Steve to come to him and Dad.
"Now, you have to go through here and quickly! I will handle Shadow Steve." Grandad spread his wings and protected Dad, Zero Steve and Galaxy Steve from another blast. There was a RIIIIP and a small tear showed in Grandad's wings. He winced, but ushered Zero Steve, Galaxy Steve and Dad into the portal. Their pet pig, Gerald, jumped through as well.
Dad turned back towards the portal, watching Shadow Steve jump at Grandad, a glow forming in his hands.
"DAD!" Dad screamed, reaching for the portal. Grandad gasped, blood falling from a new injury. He formed another portal, then jumped through just before the portal that Zero Steve, Galaxy Steve and Dad were at closed.
Galaxy Steve stood in shock, not realising that he was clinging to an also shocked Zero Steve.
Dad stared at the place where the portal once was, before turning around with an anguished expression on his face.
"We might not see Grandad ever again...come on, kids...he would want us to live our lives like normal..." Tears started to form in Dad's eyes, but they ran off to a nearby forest, leaving the flower fields where they had all been created behind.
Galaxy Steve sighed, wondering how Zero Steve had turned so cruel and became Void Steve.
He shook his head, and blinked as Light Steve and Rainbow Steve approached him, with Time Steve, Elemental Steve and a few Colourless Guards following behind.
"We're going now, we've got the disguises." Light Steve held up his Darkness disguise and motioned for the others to do the same.
"Forgot about me, huh?" Galaxy Steve joked, but felt a flash of sadness at the thought of not helping to free Sabre.
"No, we didn't Galaxy Steve." Rainbow Steve held up a spare one, a cheeky smile on his face. But he had determination shining in his eyes.
Galaxy Steve smiled, giving him a quick nod. They got their disguises on quickly and set off.
After a long treck, they finally reached the main base. Galaxy Steve took a deep breath and followed the others inside.
There had been a new idea on the way and they were pretending to capture a Colourless Guard, one of which calmly volunteered.
They promised that they would also get him out and not leave him behind.
Galaxy Steve felt nervousness fill up in him as they neared the entrance to Void Steve's castle.
Let this be an easy mission...please, Grandad....
-----------------Sabre's POV--------------
He blinked his eyes open with a groan. Sabre sat up and looked around.
He was in a cell, surrounded by lava and obsidian walls. There was no way out in sight.
Sabre glanced at his injured arm and realised that the cast was gone. Sabre frowned at the fact that it was just limply hanging by his side.
Sabre attempted to lift it, but worry spread through him as it didn't move. He tried again, and when it failed he let out an angry shout. "MOVE!"
He clenched his teeth and dropped onto his back. Why?! Why me? I just have to have my arm paralyzed...Sabre sighed and turned his gaze to one of the obsidian walls as it started to move.
He tensed with a gasp as he saw Void Steve enter from the moving wall, which was apparently a hidden door.
Shooting up into a sitting position, he glared as Void Steve circled Sabre's cell.
"Interesting, isn't it. Having a functioning arm one day, and a limp one the next...how sad." Void Steve let out a chuckle, clapping his hands together.
Sabre shuffled, staying silent.
"Being quiet, are we now?" Void Steve snickered, "I can fix that." He whistled and a figure of darkness entered the room.
Sabre slowly stood up as the darkness approached Void Steve.
The darkness turned it's head to Sabre as it stopped next to Void Steve.
Sabre felt a flash of nervousness as they stared at each other for a bit until Void Steve interrupted. "You're a good fighter, am I correct?" Void Steve leaned as close as he could to Sabre's bars without the threat of falling into the lava moat.
Sabre clenched his hands into fists and he didn't answer, scared of what might happen if he answered 'yes' or 'no'.
"Hmph. Well, we were going test if you are or not a good fighter whatever your answer." Void Steve brushed off Sabre's quietness, then called in two other figures of darkness. They flicked a hidden lever in the corner of the room with made the lava drain from the moat before approaching.
Sabre frowned, wondering why they weren't trying to hide how to get to Sabre's cell. He was quickly snapped out of his thoughts when he was grabbed.
A shiver went down his spine as he felt the darkness' cold hands. It felt weird against his skin, as is something were wrong with it.
He was shoved into a room surrounded by glass walls. The first figure of darkness walked in with him, and the glass door slammed shut behind them.
I could just break the glass and run but...I'll be caught before I get to the exit. Sabre watched the two darkness figures that brought him there left, and another three entered to guard the door.
Void Steve had not moved from his spot at the door, a grin on his face.
"You just wait there a bit, Sabre...you'll see what will happen when your friends finally come for you..." Void Steve's voice was dark and he let out a small chuckle.
Sabre glanced at the darkness he was in the room with, who was just standing there idly.
After a while, he heard shouts of protest coming from the exit and a group of darkness entered, dragging behind them...his friends.
Sabre gasped and watched as they were thrown to the ground outside of the glass walls.
"Sabre!" Galaxy Steve was the first one to notice him. The others turned to him with wide eyes.
"Sabre, there's a figure of darkness in there with you!" Rainbow Steve attempted to stand up, but a figure shoved him back to a sitting position roughly.
"Yes, of course there is. Who is he meant to fight if there's no-one there?" Void Steve joined in the conversation, while staying where he was standing before.
"F-fight? FIGHT?! You're going to make Sabre fight?! He has an injured arm and it hasn't healed yet!" Galaxy Steve yelled, anger in his voice as he glared at Void Steve.
Void Steve smirked. "And it will never heal. Don't you think it's weird how it hasn't healed yet?"
No, no, no! Don't let them fight out this way! Sabre grabbed his paralyzed arm with his working arm.
"It is...a little weird...why?" Light Steve mumbled.
"His arm wasn't just injured, it was paralyzed. Want to show them Sabre?" Void Steve chuckled, glancing sideways at Sabre.
Sabre could see the shock and horror on his friend's faces, while the Colourless Guards tensed up.
"Show them, Sabre." Void Steve snapped in a threatening when Sabre didn't move.
He sighed and attempted to move his arm like he did in the cell before. After a few moments of it not doing anything, he used his working arm to grab it. He lifted his paralyzed arm up then let go of it and it flopped back down to his side instantly.
He looked away as he heard gasps from the others.
"Alright, enough shock and sadness. I promised you a fight! And a fight you will get." Void Steve clapped his hands and the figure of darkness in the glass room with Sabre snapped to attention.
Sabre tensed, nervousness filling him. "Not even going to give me any weapons?!" Sabre didn't take his eyes of the darkness, but was speaking to Void Steve.
"Nope. Hey, at least the darkness doesn't have weapons either! But, oh. I forgot. Soon before the fight started I told myself that it would be fun for the Darkness to have a weapon soon after the fight starts. Good luck." Void Steve laughed and then snapped his fingers.
The Darkness sprung forward and Sabre let out a yelp. He jumped out of the way and rolled to his feet. (I'm going to just call the Darkness he's fighting 'D' for a bit)
"Sabre!" He heard his friend's worried voices calling out for him. He ignored them, focusing on the fight.
D lunged again, this time just brushing past Sabre as he dodged again. That was close. Too close. Sabre ran to the opposite side of the glass room, D following behind him.
Suddenly a glow formed in D's hands, and a sharp sword appeared in his hands. Oh no. No, no, no, no! Sabre ducked under a slash from the sword and kicked out at D.
He heard a grunt from D and the sword fell from D's hands.
Sabre reached down to grab it, but D yanked it before Sabre could get a hold of it.
D stabbed upwards with it, still on the ground. Sabre gasped as the sword scraped his working arm and he stepped back.
In a flash, D was up on his feet and charging at Sabre.
Pain flashed through Sabre as D's sword stabbed into his working arm. He's toying with me. He could've killed me right now, but he's dragging it out. Torturing me.
Sabre clenched his teeth and tackled D.
Kicking and punching at random points on D's body, he knocked D backwards and away from his sword once again.
Sabre ignored the sword and kicked at D again.
"Go, Sabre!" Rainbow Steve's voice rang in Sabre's ears and he attacked again.
D staggered back, then turned and darted for the sword.
Sabre chased after him, trying to reach the sword before he did.
They reached it at the same time, and both went for it.
Sabre kicked out to try and shove D back.
Screams sounded out from his friends as he felt agonising pain.
Sabre looked down to see a sword through his stomach, with D holding it with a smirk.
The edges of his vision started to fade to darkness.
D drew the sword out of Sabre's stomach as he fell backwards.
Shaking, he forced his eyes open to stare at his friends.
They were being held back by darkness figures as they screamed, fighting to get to Sabre.
Please be safe...get out of here as quick as possible... Sabre pleaded in his mind.
Then the world went dark, the pain in his stomach slowly fading.
---------------------------
It's done at last! Sorry for the wait and I hope you enjoyed it!
Also, some angst for Sabre lol
What will happen next?
Until next time, stay safe and have a good day/night! :)
