Chapter 3

(I got extremely lazy so I'm sorry about that, so there's going to be a big time-skip. It's been 4 days since Sabre was flattened by rocks (lol))

------Sabre's POV----------

A stab of pain flashed through his arm and his eyes shot open.

Sabre was staring up at a wooden roof and he was wrapped in bandages.

He sat up with some difficulty and looked around.

Green Steve's house. Sabre thought, recognizing his friend's place.

A window was open nearby, with small cold breezes drifting through it.

Wait! What happened to Rainbow Steve, Time Steve and Elemental Steve?! A burst of panic spread through Sabre and he attempted to get up.

As he tried to move his arm, he realized that it was wrapped up in some sort of cast.

Sabre sighed and stood up shakily, still slightly unbalanced from his wounds.

How long was I unconscious for? Sabre thought as he carefully snuck down the stairs.

Green Steve was curled up on the couch nearby, snoring.

Sabre jumped as there was a small thump and an: "Owwww..." came from outside.

Sabre looked out to see Rainbow Steve on the floor outside the door, glaring at a tiny rock nearby his foot.

He chuckled, figuring out quickly that Rainbow Steve was coming up the path and then was tripped up by the tiny rock.

Rainbow Steve looked up and gasped.

Scrambling to his feet, he beamed. "You're awake!" Rainbow Steve stepped inside and gave Sabre a hug.

"How long was I unconscious for?" Sabre glanced at Green Steve's direction as he spoke, not wanting to wake him up.

"Four days. How's your arm by the way?" Rainbow Steve reached towards Sabre's casted arm but drew his arms back as Sabre flinched. "Sorry." Rainbow Steve flashed him a nervous smile.

"It's okay. But I can't move it." As Rainbow Steve's expression turned worried, Sabre tried to reassure him. "It's most likely because of the cast, don't worry. Casts are meant to make sure you don't move it and hurt it more. So it's fine." Sabre couldn't help but worry himself.

I would be able to move it a little bit at least, but I can't move it at all. It'll be fine, right? Sabre glanced at his arm, letting out a sigh.

"Oh! Sabre, you're awake!" Green Steve's voice behind him dragged Sabre out of his thoughts and he turned to his friend.

Green Steve smiled and walked over.

"Sorry if we woke you up, Green Steve." Rainbow Steve apologised.

"Nah, it's fine. I was half awake already though." Green Steve shrugged with a small chuckle.

Did Green Steve hear me? I hope he doesn't worry about me, I'll be fine. I don't want them to worry about me. Sabre worried inwardly, but smiled at the two Steves.

-------------------------Yet again, another time-skip :) ------------------------

Sabre watched the two Green Steves duel, slashing at each other with their swords.

He had been assigned to watch over the practise for the fights against the Darkness.

Everyone in every village had been practising for about a week now. The leaders had decided that it would be easier to drive of the Darkness that way, and also protect themselves.

Since Sabre was still slowed down by his casted arm, he was not to practise, just watch and give tips whenever they needed it.

One of the Green Steves froze as the wooden sword shot towards his face.

"Duck under it!" Sabre called to him.

The Green Steve glanced at him, confused. He staggered back as the sword hit his forehead and he fell over.

Sabre walked over, a small smile on his face.

He had told himself to be kind and helpful to the Steves, but also strict at the same time.

"That was good, both of you. But next time," Sabre helped the Green Steve up. "When the sword is going to your face, you duck under it. And also, if someone tells you something, don't look at them. It'll only give your opponent a chance to get in a hit."

"I don't know how to duck under it..." The Green Steve muttered, looking ashamed.

"That's quite alright. Although I did teach you a few days ago. I'll show you it now though." Sabre turned to the other Green Steve.

"Do what you did earlier." Sabre told him, and then backed away from him a few steps.

The Green Steve charged at him and swiped his sword at Sabre's face.

Sabre bent under it and held his uninjured arm out.

He poked the Green Steve in the stomach, then backed away from the fight.

"That's how you do it. Not only you dodge getting injured in the head, you can stab your opponent with you sword, what I did with my hand." Sabre advised the Green Steve.

He nodded, then jumped almost a mile when Light Steve came running up yelling: "Sabre, Sabre!" Light Steve skidded to a stop in front of Sabre, panting heavily.

"What is it Light Steve?" Worry flooded through Sabre as Light Steve glanced up at Sabre with panic-filled eyes.

"The Darkness is attacking!" Light Steve yelped.

The two Green Steves let out shaky gasps from behind Sabre.

"Get the Colourless Guards ready, Light Steve. And, Green Steves, tell everyone else to be ready to defend themselves." Sabre watched as all of the Steves ran off as soon as Sabre had finished his sentence.

Sabre followed Light Steve, wanting to help in the battle.

The Colourless Guards were lining up, spears and shields lifted and at the ready. Light Steve was telling them to, no matter what, protect the citizens of the Rainbow Town.

(totally not me being stuck on this one part for flipping 10 days trying to figure out what to do next because brain melted :P)

Sabre ran up to them, but stopped a few steps back. He had heard something loud crashing, as if it was the wall being knocked over.

Sabre whipped around to see Darkness running up towards the Colourless Guards, evil smiles on their faces.

"Light Steve!" Sabre called loudly.

The Colourless guards whipped around, shocked. They hesitated for a moment then charged at the Darkness figures, swords and spears raised.

The two sides crashed into each other, weapons making loud ringing sounds as they collided.

Sabre froze, watching them. How could he help with a broken arm?

He felt someone tap his back and he whipped around to be met with Void Steve.

Sabre backed up, terror visible in his face.

"Well, well, well, Sabre. Survived my rock fall I see? But not without injury." Void Steve chuckled and gestured towards Sabre's arm.

Sabre scowled at him and crouched down, raising his un-broken arm in a fight position.

"I can still fight if I need to, Void Steve." Sabre snapped.

"Of course you can! But not as well as normal." Void Steve circled Sabre, a smirk on his face. Sabre kept an eye on him at all times, shuffling his feet so he could face Void Steve.

"No comment? Alright. Shall we continue talking or get into the fight?" Void Steve raised an eyebrow, his red eyes flashing.

"I'd rather fight." Sabre crouched lower, uncertainty that he would be able to fight Void Steve off and protect himself.

As soon as Sabre finished his sentence, Void Steve attacked, firing a small fireball at his face.

Sabre yelped and ducked under it, charging at Void Steve. Before Void Steve could move, Sabre punched him in the stomach, causing Void Steve to stagger back, winded.

"You'll pay for that." Void Steve snarled and shot a larger fireball.

Sabre ducked under it once again and tried to get another hit in.

Heat blasted in his face and he was knocked backwards.

The ground rushed up to Sabre and he landed with a thump.

Sabre struggled to get up with one arm, and he felt a foot on his chest.

Sabre looked up to see Void Steve pinning him down with his foot, a grin on his face.

"Like I said, you can fight, but not as well as normal. Admit it, you're weak." Void Steve chuckled as Sabre glared at him through the blindfold.

"Leave him alone!" A familiar voice shrieked and a bright orange light blasted Void Steve sideways and off of Sabre.

Rainbow Steve ran towards Sabre, helping him up. "You okay?" He asked.

"I'm fine." Sabre smiled at Rainbow Steve, then turned to Void Steve.

Void Steve was already on his feet, his smug expression had been turned into an angry one.

"DARKNESS!" Void Steve called, and four Darkness figures appeared behind him.

Sabre and Rainbow Steve took a nervous step back. They were outnumbered 2-5.

"Get rid of Rainbow Steve. I'll handle Sabre." Void Steve leapt at Sabre, fireballs forming in his hands.

Rainbow Steve yelped as the four Darkness figures attacked him, chasing him away from Sabre.

Sabre nervously turned to Void Steve, now confident that he would lose this fight.

"Not so confident are you with that broken arm, huh?" Void Steve teased.

He's playing with me, trying to make me give up so he can get rid of me easier. Sabre frowned. I'm not going down without a fight.

Something, or someone, grabbed Sabre's blindfold from behind him and tugged him back.

"Give up now, or we'll take off your blindfold." The voice said, and it had the echo that all Darkness figures had.

Fear flashed through Sabre. There was no way that he would let the enemy or anyone in general see his eyes, but he didn't want to give up.

"Let's see if this gives you another push." The Darkness figure chuckled, then placed a sword on Sabre's neck, pressing hard enough to draw a little bit of blood, but not kill him.

Sabre gasped and struggled a bit. He stopped when he realised that the Darkness figure was pressing a little bit harder every time he struggled. Sabre stopped and glared at the figure behind him.

"Do you give up now?" Void Steve laughed at Sabre's expression. Sabre sighed, realising that there was no way out.

I'll escape later. I can't do anything right now... Sabre's shoulders sagged and he looked down at the ground, as if in defeat.

"Good. Knock him out so he doesn't do anything." Void Steve ordered another Darkness figure nearby.

Wait! My plan! Sabre thought in terror, then something hard hit the side of his head and the world went black.

(wow! 1743 words, not including this little outro. Anyway, sorry it took so long, I ran out of ideas for a bit. Anyway, see you soon!)
