9 - Give It To Me Baby

Soon we were married and I couldn't have been happier. The wedding went better than I thought it would. Henry was actually very helpful and took this seriously. It was surprising for him but I took it as a good sign. During the reception, Arson whispered to me in my ear that we should go. I gave him a smirk and nodded, wanting to leave myself.
I whispered to Kristen that we were leaving and she smirked as well, wiggling her eyebrows at me. I rolled my eyes at her and glanced over at Henry who lifted his eyebrows at me. I sighed as he watched me and Arson leave, knowing that he was aware of what we were going to do and desperately wanting to know how I would explain everything.

We didn't travel to our honeymoon (in Italy, bitches!) just yet. We were going to go there first thing in the morning so we went back home and looked at our packed suitcases, him holding me in his arms as he carried me over the threshold. I looked at him and he looked back at me.
"Guess what?" I asked.
"What's that?"
"We're married."
He grinned and headed up the stairs.
"That we are, my love."
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Let's make babies?" he asked, hopefully.
I sighed and put my hand on his chest.
"Arson, you know I want children but not just yet."
"No?"
"I want to get to know you again. You remember that we spent a long time away from each other and I want to get to know you again. I want to be able to figure you out and be with you for a while. I do want children, just not yet."
Arson frowned. "So how is this supposed to work?"
"I took the pills."
"Those aren't 100% you know."
"Well neither are condoms but I figured you wouldn't like that."
He grinned wickedly and grabbed me by the waist.
"You're right about that."
I screamed when he picked me up barbaric style and hauled me off to our room.

We spent a week in Italy and it was amazing. Napoli, Roma, Sicily, Pompeii! It was like walking back in time and seeing these amazing wonders and structures. I was so amazed at how they built around the old and meshed the new in with it. We saw an opera, rode in a gondola in Venice, ate amazing Italian food and had a blast tasting wine. I had to make sure Arson didn't get too happy with it but it was just a blast.
And we had lots and lots of intercourse. It was fun... I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and Arson.
We came back home and we went to the car to go home. As we drove off I noticed that we weren't going in the direction of the house and I turned to Arson.
"Um, where are we going?"
"You'll see, it's a surprise."
"Okay... Will I like the surprise?"
"I think you will... I hope you will."
I smiled and wondered what it could be.
We finally pulled up to a gated apartment complex and Arson looked at me.
"What are we doing here?"
"This is my wedding gift to you. Welcome home, honey."
I looked at the complex and grinned happily.
Arson smiled and punched in a code to open the gate. We drove in and I looked at all the pretty buildings that was there.
"How can you afford all of this?" I asked.
"I've been saving up." He said with a shrug. "I saw you looking at this place with dreamy eyes every time we passed by it from your office and so I thought maybe you'd want to live here. It's cheaper than a house and I don't have to mow the lawn."
"That's the real motive isn't it?" I said with a look.
He laughed a little and he parked in front of the building.
"We got a ground floor apartment. I haven't really gotten around to putting it together but Kristen and your brother have been doing that so it should be nice... I hope."
"Kristen's taste I trust, Henry's I don't."
"He's a nice guy."
I shrugged and we got out, heading to the door. He took out his keys and unringed one.
"Yours..."
I nodded and he put his key into the door and I looked inside.
The place was beautiful! The carpet was a beautiful beige color and the floor in the kitchen was a sparkling white tile. We had a steel fridge, microwave, and oven and stove (flat top). The counters were of gorgeous granite and the cabinets were a light brown.
I walked into the living room and found a beige leather couch facing a built in fireplace that housed a flat screen over the mantelpiece. There was no lamps or any other furniture in there though.
"Where's the rest of the furniture?"
"I just told them to put the essentials in until we had a theme going. I don't know exactly how you decorate but I give you free reign to do what you please."
"Oh, Arson, this is amazing! Thank you so much!" I yelled, hugging him around the neck.
"You're welcome."
"How many rooms does it have?"
"Three."
"Three? How many kids did you plan on having?"
"Dunno... However many you want. I just want a family and I want to give it the best home ever. I don't want it to grow up like me and turn out like me. I will be the best father anyone could ask for."
"I know you will... Hey, you want to explore the bed?"
Arson laughed and dragged me to the bedroom.

That was three years ago.
We still haven't had a child and I think Arson is getting a little angry at me. It's not that I don't want to have a child with him or that I'm scared, it's just that there is a bit of a complication and I'm trying to fix it so that we can be happy.

I walked in from work to find Arson at the dinner table, lighting candles.
"What you doing?" I asked as I set my briefcase on the barstool.
"I thought I'd make us some dinner."
"I see..."
"How was it today?"
"Good. I have a pretty good trial coming up. Custody battle over a ten year old child. Get this, the father is abusive and the mother is a crack head. This will be a treat."
"Are you representing one of them?" he asked with a frown.
"Hell no, I'm representing the sister of the husband who wants to take the daughter in since she's been practically raising her."
"Ah."
"And you?"
"The Sexton-Miller Corporation filed bankruptcy today."
"Nuh uh! They're one of the most prestigious fur coat companies around! What happened?"
"Not cold enough and not selling enough. They had to file bankruptcy unless another company swoops in and buys them."
"That means they'll have a sale..." I said planning my next trip to the Sexton-Miller store.
I sat down in the chair and he sat beside me, showing me two beautiful steaks.
"Ooh! I love steak!"
"I know..."
"What's wrong, honey? You don't sound right."
Arson sighed, running his fingers through his hair.
"Please don't get mad when I ask this but... when are you going to stop taking those contraceptives?"
I cut into my amazing steak and thought about it. I knew something was on his mind and I was trying to make it a logical explanation.
"Honey, why do you want a child so badly?"
"I crave a family. I want nothing more than to hear the sound of cries at night on a baby monitor and the sound of little feet on the floor... You know that all I've ever wanted was to build a family with you."
"I know you do."
"Then why do you deny me that? Haven't we learned about each other enough? Chandler is going to be having his second child next year and yet I haven't had one."
"I know, Arson, and it's not that I don't want to or anything. I'm just trying to find the right time."
"I say it's now..."
I sighed, and crossed my silverware across my plate.
"Alright... I'll stop taking them."
He nodded and we ate dinner peacefully.

"Ho, ho, I told you you'd be in some deep shit, Janey." Henry said to me on the phone a few days later and I frowned.
"Please stop throwing 'I told you so' at me all the time. Is there any way you can send that soon?"
"When do you plan on doing it?"
"Dunno... I'm holding off for as long as I can but I don't know how long that will be."
"It'll take two weeks."
"I can't wait that long."
"Well I can't help you then... I have to go but either you do it or you don't."
He hung up and I growled at the receiver.
"What's wrong?" Arson asked as he walked to the couch with a beer.
"Nothing... Henry being a jerk."
"I see... Cheers." He said to the beer.
I nodded and drank it down.
