Shinichiro groaned as he woke up, holding a hand to his head. "Shit, this hurts like hell..." He grumbled angrily as he sat up.
"You're awake," Shinichiro turned over to see... a girl. Probably someone around his age or younger. And she was carrying a basin and a towel. "Sorry. I didn't know where you lived so I... brought you to my place?" She sets the basin down and knelt beside him. "A bad move, I know. But you didn't really pick up that much of a fight..."
Shinichiro blinked. Then, his face turned red.
"Are you getting a fever or something?" She raises an eyebrow as she notices his reddening face.
"You're that girl from last night!" Shinichiro says in realization. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt anywhere? Did they-?"
She covered his mouth with her hand, her face stoic. "I'm okay, I didn't get hurt, and they didn't do anything." A sigh escapes her lips. "Maybe I should've left you in the dumpster..."
Shinichiro pretended not to hear that last part, but he lets out a sigh of relief once the girl removes her hand from his mouth. "Well, at least you're okay." He smiles at her. "It was worth getting beat up for."
There was silence before she slapped the towel onto his face, making Shinichiro let out a yelp. "Don't push your luck. I'm kicking you out when you can walk."
Shinichiro removes the towel from his face as he looks at her now. He could see that she had some scratches on her arms, probably from last night. He felt bad, and maybe he'll treat her scratches when he can walk. But apart from that she looked... pretty.
"...you're creeping me out," She holds the towel up. "I will throw this at you."
"You just look pretty." Shinichiro blurted out suddenly. "Like I'm looking at a... I dunno, I can't describe it."
There was silence, and Shinichiro knew that he already blew it. Not that it was unusual. He had gone over twenty rejections, and he wasn't going to get another one to add on the roster. Plus... Shinichiro probably gave up on finding love. Especially since he's still a delinquent. Maybe some girls just didn't like gang leaders... though he gets slightly jealous when people approach Wakasa, Benkei, and Takeomi. "Sorry, I probably said something stupid. You can kick me out."
"...I'm not doing that." She says bluntly, putting the towel in the basin. "I'm not kicking out the person who would willingly get thrown in the dumpster."
Okay, that was a sigh of relief. "Then... can I ask for the person I was willing to be thrown in a dumpster?" Shinichiro asks sheepishly.
"Hitomiko," She answers. "My name's Hitomiko."
Shinichiro blinked. "So uh... no last name?"
"I rather not say." Hitomiko glanced away from him.
Shinichiro noticed her expression; He couldn't tell if it was shame or... sadness. "You can just call me Shinichiro." He introduces, smiling a bit. "And uh... thanks for letting me stay."
Hitomiko looked back at him, then she let out a huff. "No need to thank me. I was doing what anyone else would."
Shinichiro let out a soft laugh. "You're probably the only one who willingly helped me."

"He cancelled on us, again." Takeomi grumbled and hid his phone back in his pocket. "I can't believe it! He never cancels on a weekday."
"Maybe he's helping his grandpa." Benkei suggested.
Wakasa let out a hum. "Or maybe he's actually studying for that business. He's opening up a motorbike shop, remember?"
"He would've told me," Takeomi muttered quietly before letting out a sigh. "But you could be right. It's probably the latter."
'He would have told you, but you're pretty irritating as hell.' Benkei thinks to himself. It wasn't that he (and by extension, Wakasa) hated him. He just... didn't like Takeomi as much. When he was around Shinichiro, Takeomi would honestly be more tolerable. But if he wasn't with Shinichiro... he just felt like a heavy bag. But he wasn't telling him that though. Or to anyone else for that matter.
"So, we got invited to her birthday." Wakasa broke the sudden silence and looked at the two with a raised brow. "Got a gift or anything?"
"Her" was referring to the daughter of the richest person in Tokyo: Sakurai Mina. It was that fateful day (which happened a year ago) when Shinichiro had managed to convince Benkei and Wakasa to merge Ragnarok and Koudou Rengou to become the First Generation of the Black Dragons. They were supposed to talk at a nearby coffee shop, but that plan was cancelled when the three saw a burning building. When they came closer, the fire department was already doing half of the damage while also stopping a distraught father that was yelling at them to move out of the way because his daughter was trapped in the fire. Benkei made the bold decision to go in that burning building and got her out of there.
A few weeks after that, the merge was settled and then Benkei gets a text from an unknown number (which at the time... terrified him a little) that this person was requesting a private meeting. Shinichiro, being leader, accepted the offer. Though, they were incredibly surprised when the meeting place was at a fancy hotel. Once there, it had turned out that the daughter that Benkei saved was the only daughter of Sakurai Akihiro, who owned many businesses and was the richest man in Tokyo.
Long story short, Mina asked Benkei to be her bodyguard on her dad's request. Shinichiro, Wakasa, and Takeomi got financial aid. Shinichiro wanted to reject the offer, but Mina had insisted. And she convinced them with the words, "My dad will find out about this if you don't accept the money".
"It was unexpected," Takeomi pointed out. "What do we even... bring to someone who probably has everything?"
"Maybe something hand-made?" Wakasa suggested.
Benkei was pondering for few seconds, glancing off to the side. But right then and there, he sees a familiar face right across the street.
"Uh... guys?" Benkei tapped Wakasa's shoulder. "I think I know why Shin cancelled on us."
Wakasa and Takeomi looked from across the street, they see Shinichiro... laughing and smiling with a girl. The store they were looking at was a jewelry store, something that Shinichiro didn't necessarily like for an unknown reason. "And he tells us not to cancel on him when it came to girls."
"We do ruin his chances." Benkei pointed out.
"What do you mean we ruin his chances?" Takeomi asks him.
Benkei scratches the back of his head. "For starters... girls seem to like us more than Shin."
Wakasa hummed. "Yeah. Got a bunch of letters yesterday. Shin got one letter that just said that he needed to fix the floorboards in the gym."
"How is that our problem exactly?" Takeomi raises an eyebrow, then he just shakes his head with a sigh. "Whatever, I'm calling him."
Wakasa looked across the street again and then he gets a good look at the girl who was with him. He recognizes him, and he smirks. "Yo, Hito-chan!"
The girl and Shinichiro turn to face the trio and Shinichiro's face pales. "Waka? Oh my god, it's been ages!" The girl looks both ways before running towards him, and they share a hug. "Did you finally get rid of that body spray? You smell like a human being already." She teases.
"You know her?" Benkei asks in disbelief.
"Yeah, this is Hitomiko," Wakasa introduces as he and Hitomiko break the hug. "She's the childhood friend I was referring to."
"You guys must be... Arashi and Akashi." Hitomiko says. "Shin says a lot about you both, actually."
"Really now?" Takeomi looks over to where Shinichiro was, who finally worked up the courage to go to them from across the street. "Explain, Shin."
Shinichiro scratched the back of his head, then he sighed. "Miko-chan... remember when I said that girls didn't like me?"
Hitomiko looked at Shinichiro, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, why?"
"Well..." Shinichiro cleared his throat. "I told you the three possible reasons but... there was one reason I left out," He gestures to the trio. "They like them more."
Hitomiko scrunched her nose at that, then turned to Wakasa before looking back at Shinichiro. "Shin, I wouldn't date Waka even if I was paid." She says bluntly. "And for the record, me and him are childhood friends."
Benkei put the pieces together. "So... you cancelled on us and lied to us because... you think she'd ditch you for us."
"Okay, you make me sound like an idiot if you say it out loud..." Shinichiro groaned at this.
Needless to say, they shared a lot of laughs. But ultimately, Hitomiko still chose Shinichiro.
