Everday Life with Nightmares

"It has been a five months since the Lynel incident. Her bravery has become legendary among Hyrule. Some even say she may be the Hero of Hyrule. Everyone has been paying attention to her. Especially, the Hylians, they even recruited Miray for a training exercise. Who were they again? Oh yes, the Sheikah. They wanted to train her in their ways. This meant I would be seeing less of her around the domain. It made me sad but at the same time, I am happy for her. Sidon's devastated of course. He's going to miss her so badly. This is the last night that Miray will be spending with us."
I placed my diary on my nightstand. I had no more to write. I turned off the firefly lamp and drifted off to sleep. No later had I gone to sleep, I heard footsteps. My eyes went open. I quickly pulled myself out of bed. I tiptoed to the door and I opened it a crack. I saw someone, I couldn't make out their face, so I silently reached for my spear. I then flailed the door open to see that the figure was further down the hallway. I decided to follow. It is too late for any to be walking around the palace at night. As I got closer to the figure I saw it was only Miray.
"Miray," I whispered. She didn't stir, why did she not stir? She kept swaying from side to side as she walked. There was a vase that was on a table in the hallway. Miray's hand swiftly knocked the vase off the table. I instinctively dived for the vase, saving it before it even touched the ground.
"That was a close one." I said with relief. I stood up with the vase and returned it to the table. Miray kept moving back and forth. This time as she was leaving sleeping quarters she knocked a portrait off the wall. I dashed once again to save another object. If this portrait fell, my father would not be pleased. It was a portrait of my mother. Taking a closer look at it, I resembled my mom more than my father. My father would tell me that I was the spinning image of her. I closed my eyes and thought about a conversation I had with Sidon.

It was around the time that I had forgiven Sidon for the death of our mother. I took Sidon to the portrait that hanged on the wall in the sleeping quarters. He looked up at the towering portrait on the wall. He looked at it with amazement, his eyes twinkled with brightness. I smiled at him.
"She looks exactly like you." Sidon said, "except for the eyes. Hers are purple." I nodded.
"I guess I really do look her, don't I?" I said.
Sidon began, "did you know her, very well?"
"Yes, I remember she would always take me to Veiled Falls and she was always willing to help others." I answered.
"Like you." Sidon said.
I shook my head, "no, no, nothing like me. I only thought about myself."
"I'm guessing mom may have thought about herself more back then too." Sidon assured me. "We all have to start somewhere."

I blinked a couple times and gave the portrait one last look before I hanged it on the wall. I realized that Miray was gone. I had gotten caught up with a memory that I forgot about her. I grabbed my spear and ran out of the sleeping quarters, past the throne room, just in time to see Miray leaning on the edge where a waterfall was. I loudly dropped my spear and grabbed Miray's hand and swung her away from the edge. Apparently, this time she stirred and jolted up after she hit the floor.
"What In Hyrule are you doing?!" Exclaimed Miray.
I answered, "I could ask you the same thing."
"Oh, I must have been sleep walking again." Miray realized.
"Again?" I asked.
"Yeah, I usually do this when I have nightmares." She explained.
"What's troubling you then?" I questioned. Miray sighed.
"I had a dream that the Yiga were back and this time they were after something this time. I couldn't see clearly. By the time I went in closer to see what they were doing. It all went black."
"What are you suggesting?" I said.
"If I go with the Sheikah...I think I might die."
"That won't happen if you stay out of trouble."
"You're probably right, Mipha."
"Promise me you'll be careful."
"I promise."

The light began to reach out to touch the domain. The palace began to fill with life. Everyone gathered to the empty plaza to see Miray go with the Sheikah. Two guards stood at the gate. There was a small group of Sheikah warriors waiting for Miray. Sidon, Father, Muzu, and I were at the bridge saying goodbye to Miray. Father said his goodbye to Miray and told her to stay safe as well. Muzu surprised us all when he said that she was a good Hylian and hoped that she would be successful in her journey. Next was Sidon he cried when he said goodbye to Miray. She told him that she would come to visit, and that he would see her again.
I went up to her. I had a few things to say.
"Hey," Miray said.
"Stay safe." I pleaded. She nodded.
"Oh, and Mipha," Miray began, "don't worry your chance to help the world will come soon. I can feel it." I agreed with her, I could feel coming too.
Before Miray turned her back on us. She swung her arm to the side and smiled a toothy grin that sparkled. Sidon repeated her action. (The action that I described was this down below)

We watched as Miray walked away with the Sheikah warriors. I could hear the Zora shouting good luck to her. I knew then and right now, that she was destined to something great. Oh, how I envy her.
