A Friend

Diane and Wolf strike up a friendly conversation.

Early the next morning a gray wolf had just come out of a museum and yawned as he looked around to see Red Shore starting to wake up and he shook his head. Wolf had just finished a night shift working at a museum.

''Now to get something to eat.'' He mumbled to himself.

Diane's alarm went off and she got up and got dressed wearing an off the shoulder thin shirt as she put on some slacks and her favorite black flats, and she went downstairs to make coffee and she went to grab the dress Porsha wanted to wear. She left a note on Porsha door as she left.

She got into her car and took off to the closest cleaners she could she was listening to music. She liked listening to some of the old music she used to listen to when she was a teenager.

20 minutes later she arrived at the dry cleaners and saw a cow there who smiles at her.

''Hello Ma'am got something for us?'' She asked.

''Sure Abby.'' Diane noticed the name tag on the cow.

''Great, I'll have this done in half an hour.'' She replied.

Diane nodded and left as she looked around, she was in a small part of the city, and she parked her car to the side and got out deciding to look around and find something to eat.

She found a small bakery cafe and went in and up looking at the menu.

''I'll have the cinnamon Roll and a coffee please.'' She replied and the bear looked at her.

''Anything else?''

''Nope.'' She smiled.

He rung her stuff up and then gave her a number as she went to the side. 3 minutes later her stuff was ready as she went to grab it another order was up there, and she bumped into someone.

''Sorry.'' She apologized as she looked to see it was none other then Wolf.

''Oh Wolf.'' She replied.

He had a smirk on his face. ''Diane, what a surprise to see you here.''

''Well, I had to do something for Porsha and since I'm here for half an hour I might as well get something to eat.'' Diane replied.

''Oh, nice well I got time mind if I join you?'' He asked.

''Sure, I was going to sit outside.'' She smiled as they walked outside and sat at one of the tables.

Wolf joined her on the other side of the table.

''So, I take it you just got off of work.'' Diane guessed.

''Yeah, and after this I'm going home take a shower and sleeping for half of the day before taking one of my roommates to work.'' He said.

''Oh, you don't live by yourself.'' Diane was surprised by that.

''Nope I don't. I live with 4 others.'' He said.

''Woah, must be nice and crowded.'' She joked.

''Not really, still I'm the only one who works nightshift.'' He replied drinking is coffee.

''Hm alright. So do you usually come here?'' Asked Diane as she was eating her roll.

''Sometimes. When I'm over here, but something was telling me to come here.'' He shrugged.

''So, do you work at one museum or several?'' She asked.

''We got about 10 of them so it depends on where they have me go. I work as a night guard so it's wherever they need me.'' He replied.

''I see must be nice. So where are you taking Porsha tonight?'' Asked Diane.

''Oh, this new restaurant that's been opened for a few months now we've wanted to go to, but it's always booked it took me 3 months to book it, so we have to go.'' He smiles drinking.

''Sounds like fun, I'm sure she will enjoy it.'' Diane smiles.

''Yeah, I hope so. It's hard to do anything nice and romantic with her.'' He replied sitting back.

''Why?'' Asked Diane.

''She forgets or isn't around when its time. Last time we had a date night, I spent at least 2 hours trying to find her to pick her up.'' He sighed.

''What do you mean try to find her?'' Asked Diane shocked.

''She hangs out with her friends a lot and says she is one place which she is but her friends like driving around, checking out sights and all that and never stay in one place.'' He said.

''That must suck.'' Diane replied.

''A bit, but what about you?'' He asked changing the subject.

''What about me?'' She asked.

''What are things you like to do?'' He asked.

''Depends on what I'm in the mood for. I do like staying at home, going dancing, I would dance for hours. But mostly working to keep me busy and out of trouble.'' She replied.

''Dancing huh? My buddy plays at a night club we should go sometime.'' He smiles at her.

She looked at him as her heart started beating. ''We?''

''Yeah, You, me, and Porsha.'' He said catching himself.

''Sorry, but I don't play third wheel so you two are on your own.'' She said.

Wolf sat back. ''Ok then you and me sometime. I mean when Porsha is busy.'' He said.

''Somehow, I feel like Porsha wouldn't like that.'' Diane smirked leaning over the table towards him.

''I can hang out with whoever I want. Same as her.'' Wolf answers grinning leaning in a bit.

He didn't know why he brought up dancing, but he did like Diane and want to get to know her better they both seemed to lean in a bit but pull away.

''Well, I have to go.'' Diane replied looking at her phone.

''So soon?'' He asked in a playful voice.

''Yes, besides by the time I get to the dry cleaners the dress should be ready.'' Diane replied.

''I see well I will see you this evening.'' He replied.

''Maybe if I'm around.'' She jokes as they stood up.

''You usually are. Sitting on the porch reading.'' Wolf pointed out.

''Well, it's my comfort spot.'' She replied as she threw the cup away.

''Say, if you feel lonely or need someone to talk to you can always call me. I mean I don't mind, and you'll need a friend to deal with the Crystals.'' He replied.

''I'll keep it in mind.'' Diane smiles and held out her hand as they shook, and she turned to leave.

Wolf watched her with a slight smile and left heading to his car so he could go home and get some good sleep.
