Chapter 24
I wake up the next morning and realize one thing; my birthday is the day we have the Missouri concert. The guys must've planned it that way, so I'd be home on my birthday.
"Hey almost birthday girl!" Chad says, hugging me. "Hey bro!" I exclaim. He laughs, "Soo it's the big one-six?" I nod, "Yeah. I'm probably not having a party." He shakes his head, "You can't just have a birthday without a party! Don't worry, I'll put it all together for you."
"Chad, you don't-" I get cut off. "Zip it, little girl, this party is happening, whether you like it or now!" Chad exclaims. "Fine, if you wanna throw a party, be my guest," I sigh.
"So kiddo, how's the almost sixteen year-old feeling?" Caleb asks. "I'm good. Chad's throwing me party," I say. "Is he now?" Caleb asks, raising an eyebrow. I nod, "Yeah." He grins, "At least he throws you a party."
"Who throws who a party?" Alan asks, entering the room. "Chad's throwing Mia a party," Caleb sighs. "Chad, that's really sweet, bro," Alan says. Chad shakes his head, "And you guys say I'm heartless."
"Well you are," Joey points out. I shake my head, "No, Joe, he's throwing me a party when we're in Missouri." Joey raises an eyebrow, "Are we talking about the same Chad?" I nod, "You're talking about Chadwick Matthew Graham, right?!"
"Yes. Wow. He must love you," Joey says. "Okay guys it's true. You caught me!" Chad exclaims. "I WANT IHOP!" I exclaim. "Too bad," Caleb exclaims.
"LISTEN GUYS I WANT MY PANCAKES NOW!" I exclaim. "Okay okay okay woah woah woah. We'll get iHop," Alan says laughing. I dance, "Yes! I love pancakes!"
"Waffles are better!" Chad calls. I shake my head and jump on his back, "You have no idea what you're talking about, Graham!" He shakes his head, "Alan! Get this kid off of me!"
"No can do bro! You figure that put on your own!" Alan calls. I laugh, "Let's just go to iHop!" Jeff stops the bus, and the five of us climb off.
A waitress leads us to a table and gives us menus. "I'll be right back with your drinks," she says. "I want waffles!" Chad exclaims. "Dude, no way! We're getting pancakes!" I exclaim.
"Guys people are staring," Caleb mumbles. "Don't make me drag you two outta here," Alan adds. "Technically, it's out of, Alan," Caleb corrects. "Oh shut it!" Alan says.
"Guys, if my opinion makes a difference I want pancakes," Joey says. "It doesn't," Chad says bluntly. "Yes it does. Two against one," I point out.
"Kids," Alan warns. "Dad tell them I'm your favorite and that we're getting waffles!" Chad says. "Guys, go wait in the bus. I'll bring food out. Caleb you're in charge," Alan commands.
"I wanna stay with you!" Joey pleads. Alan nods, "Okay. Caleb, Chad, and Mia will wait on the bus."
Chad, Caleb and I walk back to the bus. Actually I ride Caleb back to the bus. "Back so soon?" Jeff asks. "Alan grounded us to the bus," Chad pouts. "Better news, I'm in charge!" Caleb exclaims happily.
Chad smacks the back of Caleb's head, "Shut up Mario!" Caleb looks shocked, "Chadwick Matthew Graham, go to your bunk!" Chad rolls his eyes, but reluctantly goes to his bunk.
"This morning has been eventful already," I giggle. Caleb nods, "You've got that right, kiddo." I get my phone and text Meghan for a bit, hoping Alan comes back with our food soon.
"Yo! Special delivery!" Joey calls out. I drop my phone and run over to where he is. "Sooo did you get pancakes or waffles?" Caleb asks.
"Since it's almost Mia's birthday we got chocolate chip pancakes for everybody!" Alan exclaims. "Stupid Mia for being born," Chad mumbles crossing his arms.
"Be nice, she might sit on you," Alan whispers. I take that as good advice and sit on Chad's lap. "What is the meaning of this?" He asks. "Look, there's no more chairs. Where was I supposed to sit?" I ask. Chad shrugs, and we eat our pancakes together.
"What's on today's schedule?" I ask. "Songwriting sesh!"Alan grins. "I'm taking you to the theme park for your birthday," Caleb says. I smile, "Thanks bro! When're we leaving?" He shrugs, "Whenever your lazy butt showers and changes out of pajamas."
"Can I come with you guys?" Chad and Joey ask together. "Only if he comes," I point to Alan. Alan shrugs, "I guess I could spend a few hours with your morons."
"Mia! Go get ready! Hustle!" Joey exclaims, shoving me towards the bathroom. "Okay okay I will!" I giggle, gathering some clothes and going into the bathroom.
~*~
"Ready to go?" Alan asks. I nod, and pull my wet hair into a bun, "Let's get this party started!" Jumping on Joey's back, I leave the bus.
