"ITS been three months." Odessa looked towards the camera. Her hair was much longer, and it looked like she hadn't slept in days; she was tired. "I have a ceremony tomorrow, that's when I become one of the people, one of them."

Grace glanced behind her, to where Odessa was leaning against her palm. She could see how tired she was.

"I'm nervous. I pretend that I don't hear Jake up at night, talking to gosh knows who. I have an idea, yet I'm choosing to ignore that said idea. And I'm nervous that once I become on of the people, something bad will happen." Odessa blinked, sad eyes showing. She could see them in the screen in front of her. "That's how it always goes, right?"

🌍.

GRACE was the only one awake now. She had wrapped a now sleeping Odessa in a blanket, and turned the camera off so it didn't just record her sleeping.

Grace deflated, her body slouching as she eyed the sample of whatever was in the small dish. She couldn't think now, because she knew.

She knew that Jake had talked to the people who were in charge of destroying home tree. She pretended she didn't, but she knows. —— And she knows how much Odessa wants to belong. How she wants to become one of the people, and grow a family there.

She clinks a few things on the screen, until she's opened a privet video log that only people she chose could see.

"This is log number 17, and I'm here at the shack. It's been two and a half months since my last log." Grace breathes out, turning to see if Odessa is still sleeping, and then she looks to make sure Norm, Jake and Trudy are all fast asleep in their bunks. They are. Soft snores and slight shifts that make creaking noises tell her that they still are. "Jake is working with Quaritch and Parker. He's trading them info for a set of legs. He tells them what they'd like, and then they promise that once this is all over, he'll be able to get a set of legs that work — free of charge."

Grace frowned. She hated that she knew, and that there wasn't much she could do. Jake and Odessa had helped her get back in with the clan, and she could teach again.

"I moved us all out here with homes it would help, and it definitely did, but Jake still had contact with them. I don't know if I can stop it. Or if I just pretend that I don't know anything."

Odessa groaned, shifting from where she was hunched over. She didn't wake, but it definitely caused Grace to stop what she was doing and look over.

"Dessa, she just wants to find a family. She's lost her sister, her parents, everyone. Jake, he had become someone close, someone she could relate too. I'm scared that when she finds out, she might not be able to move past what Jake had done.

"Neytiri, the Na'vi woman who has been teaching her, Dessa is in love with her. She calls Neytiri her paradise. I see why. She's beautiful, kind, one with everything around her. — Odessa found someone who helps take away the pain of losing her family."

"Grace." Odessa looked up, having her very little. "Did you wrap me in this blanket like a burrito."

Grace chuckled, acting like she just hadn't confessed what she said to the video log. "Yeah, I did. You looked cold, like that heart of yours."

Odessa dramatically gasped, placing a hand over her heart. "You wound me, Gracie."

"Don't call me that." Grace glared at Odessa before she turned back towards the camera. She pressed a button and the log ended, saving to a file she created. "How about we have a snack, then off to bed, how's that sound?"

Odessa smiled. "Great."
