Chapter Twenty Three
Evee wasn't sure what was the most embarrassing thing: her giving Harry oral sex while she didn't realize he was actually on the phone with his brother or the fact that Harry had laughed five minutes straight at her face when he told her his brother had wanted to meet her after that phonecall. She wasn't ready to meet his family, they had been together for a month forgodsake. She didn't know anything about protocols or how things went down in one of their many palaces.
For now, Harry was just Harry and she liked just Harry immensely. So much that all the bagage that came with him slipped a little to the back of her mind.
"Maybe we should meet each other's friends first, then we can take the next step." Eveline suggested, praying to god that Harry would understand her uncertainty.
"Will's pretty normal Evee, you shouldn't be nervous for him." Harry answered, noticing how scared her expression was.
How was he all about meeting the family when they hadn't had sex yet?!
God, why couldn't she stop thinking about having sex with him?!
It shouldn't be so hard to keep her hands to herself, she could wait. He wanted to take things slow and steady. She could do that. How hard could it be?
"So fucking hard." She mumbled to herself, watching Harry come out of her bathroom with only a towel around his waist.
"What?" He asked, opening her fridge to take a bottle of water.
"Nothing." She shrugged, trying to not look at his chest directly. "Does your brother know we're in a relationship then?"
"Well, I kind of had to tell him after your little stunt." Harry grinned, the twinkle in his blue eyes evident.
The prince remembered telling his brother a few days ago, trying to hold back laughter on how his brother was disgusted with him.
"Harry?!" The blue eyed man was sitting on his laptop, working on some meetings when he heard his brother outside of his door. Sighing, Harry stood up, opening his apartment door, just to see his brother in some jeans and a white shirt.
"Hey" The ginger left the door open, telling his brother to step inside.
"What was that on the phone Sunday? That was a really weird phonecall." William searched through his brother's face for any expressions, squinting his eyes.
"What did you think it was?" Harry tried holding back laughter as he remembered Evee's reaction when he told her it was Will on the phone.
"There was a girl."
"Correct." Harry grinned, walking towards his fridge. "Beer?"
"No I can't stay long, Charlotte's been giving Kate a hard time. Her teeth are coming through and she's a mess."
"Fine, just one for me then." Harry replied, opening his beer bottle and taking a sip. He walked back towards the table in the dining room where his brother was still standing, looking at him with one eyebrow raised.
"What?" Harry sat down on his chair.
"Aren't you going to tell me? You used to brag about girls all the time. Come on, spill the tea."
"We're... You know. In our bubble, for now. It's kind of odd to talk about it... " He spoke to his brother.
"Is it at least the same girl you were smitten about? What was she, a nurse?"
Harry nodded his head, "Yes, a child's nurse."
"What's her full name? Maybe I've met her before on that engagement three years ago at St Thomas."
Not sure how his brother would react to the fact that she was indeed, almost five years younger than him, plus a foreigner, he hesitated. "Eveline. Eveline Delamane. But she's Evee to me. She hates being called her full name." Harry decided to leave out the younger fact just for a little while.
"Delamane... That's not a common name." William stated.
"She wasn't born in England." One step at the time, Harry thought.
"Oh. It sounds French." William stated, not being surprised. His brother had been single for a while and William knew Harry liked to draw outside the lines. France wasn't that far away.
"She's originally from Belgium actually."
"That's nice."
Harry couldn't help but be surprised. He knew his brother supported him no matter what but dating a common girl, a foreigner none the less. He knew his father aimed for more. They had only been together for a couple of weeks but deciding it was no use to actually keep anything a secret from his brother plus the fact that he seemed so nice, Harry just went ahead and did it. "Yes, she's my girlfriend now."
William tried to hold back a grin, he was happy that his brother had found someone. He looked content and that was the only thing that mattered to him. "Congratulations. When are we meeting the lady? Or are you scared that I'll embarrass you?" He knew Kate would be thrilled that Harry finally found someone that made him smile like an idiot.
"It's too soon, she's not used to all of this." Harry waved his hand around the room, full of expensive furniture.
"I can understand it's a bit much for some people..." William nodded his head. "Whenever she's ready and you're ready, we'll welcome her with open arms." William patted his brothers shoulders. He knew it was a big deal, he also knew his brother well enough that Harry liked to do things his way, at his own pace.
"I'll let you meet her in a couple of weeks, it's too soon now. I just, I just want a little more time with her alone, before..."
"Before the mayhem?" William said seriously, already feeling bad for Harry. He knew he was terrified of losing her when the tabloids would find out.
"Before the mayhem." He agreed, trying not to think too much of it already. He knew one day he'd have to give her advice on how to escape paparazzi. He knew one day she'd be fetched before the lions on her own.
He also knew she was strong.
Very strong.
But a part of him was terrified for her, she'd go from his sweet, funny Evee to one of the most famous women in the world overnight.
No one could be fully prepared for that.
"We have your back. And hers. Always." William tried to calm down his agitations, he tried changing the subject quickly. "Kate will be excited! She's been whining about you finding a female. Says she needs to talk about other stuff than Top Gear and beer."
"She actually likes those two things." Harry shrugged. "But she had spoken about Kate, said she seemed very kind and very beautiful. Evee's an easy person to get along with, very social."
He watched his brother raise his eyebrows, Harry always had a taste for the free spirit ones. "Do you have a picture of her?"
Harry knew he took a couple of pictures of her last week. She had cooked some tapas last week and he quickly snapped one. He had another one, from last Tuesday, when they went jogging in the early morning in Regent Park. Harry remembered how much she had whined that it was too early (he couldn't go on a normal hour, afraid of being recognized) and that he ran way too fast for her the entire time. "Yeah hold on." He quickly grabbed his phone, showing his brother two black and white pictures.
William wasn't surprised when he saw that it was another blonde, of course she had to be pretty, else his brother wouldn't date her but she was different. She had kind eyes and looked very real. "She's gorgeous."
Harry, wearing a proud smile, replied "Of course."
"You're already falling in love with her, aren't you?" William looked into Harry's eyes, he knew his brother way too well.
"It's very hard not to."
"No, it's good. You have your age, just be careful."
Harry took a deep breath, "Yeah."
"Anyways, I need to go. Just one last question." Harry nodded his head, telling his brother to continue. "What the hell was she doing when you were on the phone with me?" The look on Harry's face told his brother everything. A grin from ear to ear and that twinkle in his eyes William knew so well.
"I don't want to know, do I?"
"You really, really don't." Harry tried to hold back laughter when he noticed his brother shaking his head, holding back a grin himself.
It was weird, the future king of England knew that she was dating his brother. Would they like her? She was just a normal nurse. He had heard her giving his brother oral sex for god sake. Not for too long, Harry had ended the call after 5 seconds, but still. "I'm not sure how I will ever face your brother."
"You'll be fine, Will and Kate are very laidback."
Evee nodded her head, she didn't want to think about meeting him just yet. They hadn't even met each other's friend, apart from Chloe. She hadn't even told Fred and Jared about their relationship, let alone him being a prince. She had told Chloe two days ago and she went absolutely mad. "Maybe we should have a couple of drinks first, you know, with our mates. I'll invite mine, you can invite yours. Oh! A houseparty!" Evee spoke, a lightbulb flashing on in her head.
"That's actually a pretty good idea." Harry spoke, agreeing with her. He didn't have to go in public and it would be fun meeting her friends. "Not too big though. I only have like, four very close friends."
"Maybe I can get some of my friends from Belgium to come. It has been a while since I've seen them. Would that be alright with you?" Eveline questioned, she didn't want to overwhelm him. The blonde knew she could trust her friends back home. She had known them since they went to high school together.
"Yeah sure." He smiled at his girlfriend, noticing how excited she was getting. He knew she wasn't excited about bragging that her boyfriend was a prince to her friends (she was probably dreading it, he was sure), but just because she was throwing a party.
"Good so for me it should be Mathias, Margot, Jared, Chloe and Freddy." Evee counted on her fingers. "That's five."
"Freddy? Your neighbor?" Harry didn't want to say her ex-fuckbuddy.
"Sweetie, he'll always be part of my life because he's one of my best mates. I can't just invite everyone apart from him just because I have a boyfriend now." She sighed, hoping he wouldn't mind.
"No, it's fine. I'm looking forward to meeting him."
"You are the worst actor ever." Evee grinned, sitting on his lap and wrapping her left arm around his neck.
Harry immediately replied, pushing his head underneath her neck, cuddling her as her hand softly massaged the hair on his head. "I know."
"Fred's not the one you should be scared of."
"What? You have another friend that's your ex?" Harry spoke, lifting his head to look into her eyes.
Evee laughed, throwing her head back, "No! But if there would be a kingdom of gayness, Mathias would be the queen."
"Isn't Mathias a boy?"
"Sure, on the outside. He'll probably hit on you." She tried to hold back laughter when she saw his scared expression. "He's very blunt."
"What? You'll like, hold him back, right? Being the overprotective girlfriend and all of that."
"Of course not, I'll give him 25 bucks to try to touch your arse. It'll be funny." Evee could imagine it already.
Mathias was one of her oldest friends and she thought he was an absolute genius. Whenever they would see each other, even if they hadn't for 2 years, it would be as if they just saw each other yesterday. They had the same sense of humour, occasionally synchronizing some quotes from the show 'Miranda'. They even had a dance routine on 'Check On It' by Beyonce. He also had a love for the Eurovision Song Contest, they used to stay up all night to give the other countries points. He was with her when they partied after their finals, giving her vodka instead of water. He had seen her naked when she passed out as he tried to push her into a shower.
She just hoped he wouldn't tell all her tales to Harry.
It would be so embarrassing.
"You wouldn't."
"Oh I would Harry, this friendship is very important and if it means him wanting to touch your butt, I will let him. He'll score it by the way." She laughed when she saw Harry's terrified face. "But you'll probably get like an eight and a half." She shrugged.
"Only an eight?!"
"You have a lot of hair on your butt, hun." Eveline tried to explain but failed when Harry suddenly pushed her on the couch, tickling her.
"No-haha-no, stop-hahahahahaha. I- haha. I didn't mean to. Hahahaha." She tried fighting him off but it was no use. One day she'd have to face the facts: Harry was stronger than her.
"Say my arse is a ten!" He spoke, grinning when he saw the blonde nurse laughing underneath him.
"Hahahahaha- no. No. Hahahaha."
"I won't stop until you say it."
"Harry! Hahaha noooooo. A nine, it's a nine! Stop hahaha." Evee had always been ticklish.
"I'll move to your feet, I swear I will tickle your feet." Shit, no. Not her feet. That was the most ticklish part of her body. Eveline had very sensitive feet, she would flip out if he'd do that.
"No! No! You're a ten! You're a ten Harry! Your ass is a ten."
He immediately stopped, grinning from above her. "Good, I know it is." He planted his lips on top of hers, still wondering why none of her friends could be normal.
