Chapter Twenty Seven
"What should I wear tonight?" Evee looked over her shoulder at Harry, playing on his cellphone on her bed.
"Nothing too formal, it's just a dinner. Wear anything you like." He looked up, noticing his girlfriend looking through her closet.
"Anything?" She grinned at him.
"Except your band t-shirts or your Harry Potter stuff." He pointed out, expecting anything from her.
"Should I wear a dress then?"
"No! Just pick some normal jeans and a blouse. Kate won't wear a dress. Like I said it's just a regular saturdaynight dinner." He waved his hands at her nonchalant.
"Easy for you to say." Evee mumbled, finding some dark jeans and a white loose blouse. "Is this okay?"
"That's fine." He didn't even look up from his Jungle Speed game.
"Harry!"
"It's good! You'll look nice. Not too casual, not too chique. It's perfect."
Evee rolled her eyes him, his eyes again fixated on his screen. "Do they actually know we're coming?"
"Yeah, I texted Will an hour ago. Kate's very excited to meet you." He nodded his head, finally giving up on his little game. He was never going to beat his highscore anyways.
Harry watched as Evee slowly nodded her head at him. "Like, what do I call them? Your royal highness?"
He looked at her with a silly expression, "No. Just Will and Kate."
"I can't call them that! That's too soon."
"Just see how they introduce themselves. I'll probably do the introductions so you should be fine." He really hoped her nerves would calm down through the evening. Somehow, he knew his brother would take care of that, trying to make Harry look like a fool with tales of the past. "Hey, I was thinking, maybe after dinner, you could stay at my place, it's actually not far away from my brothers."
At his place? She didn't really know what to expect of his place. "Sure, I would love to see where you live." Evee smiled at him.
"It was actually my mothers. It's called Nottingham Cottage. Will used to live there but then he moved to 1A, the place was getting too small for the kids."
"It'll be nice to see the place where your mother once lived." She looked at him with interest. He hadn't spoken much about her and she was glad he was finally opening up.
"Yeah." He nodded his head at Eveline.
Evee didn't feel like pushing him so she didn't ask any further questions about her. Somehow she knew Harry would tell her when he was ready, on his own terms. "What time do we have to be there anyways?"
"Around six."
Evee looked at the little clock on her nightstand, noticing it was already four pm. She knew it was a thirty minute drive. "I'm going to get ready."
"What? We still have two hours." She wanted to move past him but Harry quickly managed to grab her by the wrist, pulling her on top of him.
"I don't want to be late."
"You won't be." He mumbled against her lips, kissing her.
"Mmm, as much as I like you and your royal member, my vajayjay cannot take a fourth shag in 8 hours time." She chuckled, kissing him back but then pushing him back on the bed and leaving towards the bathroom.
"Your vajayjay?! Seriously?!" Harry laughed, holding his stomach.
"Shut up." She mumbled, trying not to grin at her boyfriend laughing at her. Evee actually took her time getting ready. In the past, she would just comb her fingers through her hair and apply some mascara. But she knew what kind of a big deal this was for Harry plus she wanted to make herself feel good. Pushing the top of her hair backwards, she knew what kind of style she wanted.
After 45 minutes of not seeing Eveline, Harry thought she might have flushed herself through the loo. "Hey, you didn't escape through the window, did you?" Harry joked through the bathroomdoor, still an edge of fear coming through. What the hell would he say to his brother then?
"No. I'm almost done." She yelled back at him.
He breathed in relief, "I'm coming in."
He didn't expect for her to still take away his breath, she had done that so many times before. Even when she was drunk with make-up running down her face, even the first time he saw her with those scrubs on, even through her tears, Harry still thought she was one of the most beautiful women he'd ever met. But now, looking at her, standing across from him with her hands in her sides and a goofy grin plastered on her face, she looked stunning. Her hair was done nicely, casual but still with effort. Her make-up was flawlessly shining on her porcelain skin and the best of all, those eyes were looking at him like she thought he was the best thing in the world.
"So what do you think? You think I'm good enough to meet your brother?"
He was speechless for a moment when his eyes scanned every detail of her face. "I think you're more than good enough to meet my brother."
"Good." She grinned, placing her arms around his neck. "We won't get noticed by the public, right?" She was still a little frightened that they would be discovered. She knew it was coming. They had been dating for a month and a half and she had treasured those private moments for dear life. She hoped it wouldn't end soon.
"Normally, it shouldn't be a problem." Harry answered, placing his hands on her ass, groping them lightly.
"Do you think it will be long before they discover me?" She placed her head on his neck, enjoying the warmth of his body close to hers.
"I hope it'll take them forever, I like having you all for myself." He smiled, breathing in her perfume.
"Me too. But it's bound to happen."
"Are you ready for that?" He looked at her in concern.
"I think I am." She knew she would never be fully ready, but thought no one ever would be. She was as prepared as one could be. She had told herself to gently quit smoking. She had removed every drunk picture of her on Facebook. "I just still need to tell my parents."
"Well, Skippy and Lara told me to bring you to their wedding, which is in August. If people don't know about us until then, they definitely will after the wedding."
She nodded her head. August was still three months away. It shouldn't be a problem. If everything worked out, they would be together for five months by then. "They invited me to their wedding? That's really sweet of them." She smiled at Harry.
"Yeah, they loved you."
"They're nice people. I was thinking..." Harry looked at her uncertainely. "What if we both take a weekend off around june or july to go to Belgium and meet my parents."
Harry looked a little scared at her, "Your dad as well?"
"Of course my dad as well. I'll warn them on the phone beforehand because I don't want them to flip out if they would see me in the papers suddenly dating some apparentely important prince and then afterwards, we can go there. It's not that far."
"Doesn't your dad hate your boyfriends?"
"Of course he does, I'm his only daughter." She rolled her eyes at him. "But I'm sure he'll love you. You're very mannered."
"He hated Fred."
"Fred opened my apartment door in only his boxers when my father knocked on the door. Of course he hates him." She waved away Harry's concerns.
"That must've been awkward."
"My father pushed him against a wall with his arm against Fred's neck. He nearly pissed his pants." Evee remembered her father being extremely angry that there was a nearly naked man in his daughters apartment when he didn't even know that she had a boyfriend. All hell of course broke lose when she had to tell him that Fred wasn't actually her boyfriend.
"Damn."
"He was only angry that we weren't in a relationship. I think he'll be different around you, you're my boyfriend."
"Yes but I will still bring his daughter misery with the fact that I'm a very well known public figure and a prince."
"Hey!" She grabbed his chin and looked him in the eye. "Don't you ever think or say that again. You do not, nor will you ever bring me misery. The public and the newspapers might, but you will never ever personally give me misery."
"Still. I'm telling you being a prince's girlfriend isn't much fun."
"Then it's a good thing I fucking love you." She quickly placed a good kiss on his lips. Looking down at her watch, she noticed it was already a quarter past five. "Now let's go, moaning myrtle."
His troubled face quickly replaced itself with a grin that reached his eyes. "Are you ready to meet the future king? Do you actually know how to curtsy?"
"Wait, what?!" She had to curtsy?! How the hell did she do that?!
Harry laughed at her panicked face, "I'm kidding! You're a Belgian! You don't even have to curtsy my grandmother if you don't like it."
"You shithead."
"It is best that you don't call me that in front of her though." He teased her.
"Why? Are you her favorite grandson?"
"Of course I am." Harry spoke, rolling his eyes. When Evee passed his way, he quickly slapped her arse.
"Hey! It's best that you don't do that in front of my father though." She spoke, feeding him back his own words and sticking out her tongue.
"Oh believe me, I won't. Let's go, sweetcheeks." Evee laughed at his namecalling, grabbing her purse and keys to see Harry's security, James waiting for them in the hallway.
