Chapter Three

Eveline was flushing Maja's catheter when she heard a knock on the door. Maja's eyes widened as she realised that there was a possibility a prince might visit her room. Evee's stomach on the other hand dropped about five feet. She thought she had embarressed herself more than enough today and wasn't sure if she could handle it anymore. From Maja's expression, the nurse knew it was the prince and his entourage. She quickly looked over her shoulder as she saw the ginger, his security guy, Chloe and Janice enter the room.

Sighing, she quickly managed to finish her work. As Eveline just intended to turn around and leave, she felt a tiny hand wrap around her wrist. "Evee, I don't know what to say!" Maja whispered.

"Just tell who you are and what makes you so special." Evee whispered, bending over towards Maja's ear.

Maja was about to reply when Janice spoke, "Sir, I'd like you to meet Maja, one of our bravest patients." Evee smiled as she saw a smile forming on the six year-old's face. Eveline didn't mind being ignored by the nurse. The last thing she wanted to do was speak to the prince, she thought she could feel the physical tention without speaking anyways.

The prince stepped forward, taking Maja's hand. Eveline thought she had seen everything but when she saw the prince pressing his lips on the little girls' hand, she was surprised. Evee chuckled at the sight of Maja's red cheeks. He definitely knew how to charm a girl.

"Hi Maja, I'm Harry. It's very nice to meet you."

Harry. Right. Eveline remembered him now. He was the one who always caused trouble! Right! The one with that damn nazi costume. Even in Belgium, he made the newspapers. What an idiot. She just hoped he was really drunk when he made the decision to put that costume on. It was really the only excuse.

"Hi Harry, I'm Maja. Are you really a prince? Do you live in a castle?"

Eveline thought it was best to leave the room unnoticed. She had other work to do, plus she had to clean up the instruments she had used for flushing the central catheter. Trying to gently turn around, she shifted her eyes towards the floor. No one would notice her leaving, Harry was in deep conversation with Maja. Or so she thought.

She was two steps away from her hand reaching the doorhandle when she heard a voice, "You haven't properly introduced me to your lovely nurse." He spoke in a gently voice towards Maja.

Shit.

He was teasing her. She knew it.

Slightly looking up, she noticed the twinkle in his eyes and the smirk on his face.

She definitely knew that he knew that she knew what she had done before. That she had called him Ed Sheeran and cursed around. He was testing her. She could hear it from his voice.

If it was one thing she didn't like it was men testing her.

"Evee! Come here, why you leaving?" Maja's voice called.

Oh how could she disobey the little girl. She never did. If Maja would ask for the nurse her right foot, she'd still give it to her. "Oh princess, I just have other work to do. You talk to your guest. I'll come back later." Evee spoke, trying not to look anywhere else but at the little girls' face.

Janice looked at Eveline like she was about to tape her on the bed to stay. Janice noticed that the prince obviously had interest in the blonde nurse. Of course, the elder nurse didn't like it one bit that Evee ignored the prince but that's what she asked the girl to do. To stay away as far as possible, she kind of regretted it now.

"Please don't leave just because I'm here." Harry politely spoke, looking at the short nurse. She did look cute in her blue scrubs.

"I'm not leaving because you are here, I am leaving because I have more work to do, sir. If you need more information, I'm sure Chloe and Janice will provide you. I wish you a good day." Eveline bowed her head and turned around, trying not to run out of the room.

Did I just seriously bowed my head?! What was I thinking?! She thought

What else would she do?! Eveline didn't know how to greet royalty. She never had tea with King Philippe in Belgium.

Closing the door behind her. Eveline cursed. Now she knew for sure Janice would fire her. She didn't want to be fired, she loved her job. On the other hand, she did exactly what Janice told her to do, stay away. She couldn't be fired for following orders. No. Everything will be alright. The prince would leave in an hour, she would never see him again and in a couple of months she was sure everyone would have a laugh because of Eveline's typical antics.

Deciding she needed a break, Evee made her way towards the restroom. She could hide away for atleast twenty minutes in there.

Then this nightmare would be over, she thought.

As the prince's tour came to an end, he knew he wanted to raise awareness for the hospital. He was aware that the healthcare in Britain was one of the best in the world, yet he noticed how understaffed the childrens hospital was, even though they changed the life of many children and their families.

"Thank you for showing me around this floor. It's been a wonderful day." The prince shook Janice her hand as they approached the end of the hallway.

"The children and the staff would like to thank you for coming, sir. You've made their day."

"It is so important to raise awareness for this foundation. I'd like to invite you to a charity polomatch, I will be attending next week. I would love to show my support to this hospital." He already knew before actually coming to the unit that they would be invited but a small part of him was a lot more excited than he could have ever imagined.

Harry sure hoped he'd see those green eyes again.

Janice didn't really know what to say. She was honored. A couple of hours ago she didn't think her day could get worse but now, everything was great. "We'd be honored, sir." She noticed the prince eyes searching the hallway behind her.

"I'll make sure she will be there as well, sir."

"Who?" The prince answered with a misschief smile. He ignored the slightest faster beat in his heart.

This was absolutely ridiculous.

You're passed thirty Harry and you're thinking like a teenage boy.

How was it that someone he's never properly met already made him nervous? He met presidents for godsake!

"No one." Janice tried her best not to smile back. She didn't know how the hell she'd make sure Evee was going to a polo match. But she would. She had to. For the children.

In the end, Janice was convinced the girl could make a difference she, herself, wouldn't be able to make.
