Chapter Thirty Two

Kate and Evee arrived a couple of minutes before the start of the competition. They were allowed to go to where the stables were since Kate already had two security men for herself. When they finally stepped out of the car and into the public eye, Evee could feel people staring at them.

Not once on her life had Evee dreamt of being where she was now, chatting with the wife of a future king like they had known each other for years. "Maybe you should put on some sunglasses, there will be pictures of us." Kate spoke, giving Eveline some advice. She already knew that people would speculate who the blonde woman was that Kate brought to the race. They hadn't seen her before so they would take guesses.

Evee nodded her head, taking her sunglasses out of her purse and putting them on. They both walked towards the private area, where people would still see them but wouldn't be able to reach them. Evee could hear the photographers snapping away when Kate put her head closer to the nurse, quietly talking. "I will actually pay attention to Harry's facial expressions, you know, when he's jumping up and down on that horse."

Evee laughed in response, grabbing a glass of champagne offered by a waiter in tuxedo. Quietly sipping, she watched as the horses marched towards the field. "They're on opposite teams." Evee spoke.

"This will be fun." Kate smirked as she watched her husband in his polo-outfit. "They're very competitive."

"Somehow that doesn't seem so hard to believe." They both watched in concentration. Evee still didn't understand the game but she did comprehend that Harry's team just had to shoot the little ball in the opposite team's goal.

After a while, Evee didn't even notice the cameras anymore because she was so into the game. She silently cursed when William scored and Kate laughed at her. She cheered a little too loudly when Harry scored and he gave her a tiny wink. She grinned, receiving an elbow from a grinning Kate. "I thought you guys were going undercover."

"We are."

"That wink tells me otherwise." She teased, sipping from her champagne and closely following William with her eyes.

"They'll never know we're together. I'm just another friends of yours who's caught in your brother's web of handsomeness. " Evee laughed. Maybe she should stop drinking champagne.

In the end, William's team won, which resulted in Kate teasing Evee. The nurse replied that it was because of Harry's sore balls. The duchess explained that they were going to freshen up now and that they had to meet with a couple of VIPs. "Don't you have to meet them as well?" Evee spoke.

"Well yes, but I don't want to leave you."

"I'll come along, just tell them I'm a friend of yours." She didn't think it was a big deal, she always liked to socialize.

"I can do that. Come along." Kate spoke, grabbing Evee arm, intertwining her own with it.

When Kate marched towards the first group, two women and four men, Evee noticed how the atmosphere changed when Kate said hello. They straightened their backs and bowed their heads. Standing on the opposite team, Evee thought it was all a little too strange.

"Your royal highness, how did you like the match?" A young man, he didn't seem much older than Eveline, asked.

"Yes, very interesting, glad my husband won." Evee was amazed at how Kate interracted with these people. How the hell did she seem so polite? They had just laughed over Harry's balls a half an hour ago. "I'd like to introduce you to my friend, Eveline."

Most of them bowed their heads as well, a little uncertain of what to do, which made Evee feel really uncomfortable. "Nice to meet you." Evee replied.

"Vincent is one of the main sponsors for the game, he organised it." Kate informed Evee.

The green eyed, young man look straight at Evee and gave her a big smile. "Yes, I'm glad you were able to attend."

"It's my pleasure." She tried a genuine smile. "You definitely had the weather on your side."

"Yes, thank god." He laughed at Evee. "Can I get you ladies something to drink?" He pointed towards Kate and hers half empty glasses.

"Oh no, thank you very much, it's a kind offer but I'm good." Kate spoke.

"I'm fine as well. Thank you though." Evee nodded her head, she was just being polite.

They spoke for another five minutes before she noticed her boyfriend and his brother walking straight towards them through the field. When they finally reunited, Harry and Evee made eyecontact, "That was a good game, sir, you tried your best. Congratulations, William. You played well." The nurse grinned, noticing Harry rolling his eyes.

Kate and William laughed in response, "Yes, thank you."

Harry squinted his eyes at his girlfriend, "He was just lucky."

The young red haired woman standing on the right of Evee seemed to like what the prince had to say because immediately she batted her eyelids and interfered, already pissing off Evee. "I think you've played really well sir. It was a fair game." Her sweet voice made Evee want to puke and she was sure Harry could read it on her face because he was holding back laughter.

She wanted to listen to their conversation but Vincent, the head of the organisation team was standing to her left. He started talking to her."Have you been to many polo matches? I'm sure I would have remembered you."

"Oh no, this is my second time. I'm quite busy with work so I can't come that often."

"What is it that you do?" Vincent smiled at her, flashing his white teeth. She could feel Harry's eyes on the back of her head.

She wasn't sure if she really wanted to tell him what her job was. Not because she wasn't proud of it but because if he would figure out the situation between Harry and her, they would easily track her down. "I'm actually in healthcare. I work with children."

He seemed glad with her response because his hand slightly touched her upperarm. "That's amazing. I can see why the kids love you."

She could feel his sweaty fingers wrapped around her bare skin. To be honest, it made her a little uncomfortable.

Eveline didn't really understand but made a fake smile. "Thank you. That means a lot to me." She was actually getting good at licking people's arses, she was surprised with herself.

"Are you coming to the next polo event in two weeks?" Vincent asked politely, showing interest.

"I'm not sure, I would have to check my schedule but I don't think I will." She shrugged. "Would you guys pardon me? I need to use the ladies room." She quickly smiled at the group, holding Harry's stare for a little while longer.

When Eveline left, Harry tried his best to ignore the woman standing next to him. She was complimenting him a little too much and it annoyed him. Taking a big sip of his water, he looked around at the field. He was so glad that he finally had someone to share this all this with, even though the public didn't know it yet.

He was just about to tell the group that he was going to freshen up when his ears heard Vincent speak to Kate. "Has Eveline been your friend for a long time? She seems very nice."

Kate nodded her head, a perfect pokerface, "Yes and she is, she's very lovely."

"I can see that." Vincent spoke, he didn't even look at Harry once so the prince didn't think the kid was suspecting something. "Do you think she'll be at our next event? She sparked my interest."

Harry's eyes widened a little. Aw, hell no. He thought. He immediately stepped in, "Catherine, didn't she mention she had a boyfriend back at home?" Harry acted confused.

Kate just stared at her brother in law, already getting the message. She nearly rolled her eyes at his territorial side. Men. "I am afraid she has been spoken for, Vincent. She's been with a good friend of mine for a while now, yes."

"Shame." She heard Vincent mumble.

Harry quickly drank the rest of his water, smashing the plastic bottle in his hands a little too roughly. "Well I'm going to freshen up a little more. See you guys later." He nodded his head at everyone and left the group, hoping he'd find his girlfriend somewhere.

Evee on the other hand managed to find the toilets easily. She actually realised how big of a deal this was when she whiped her ass with an eight-layered toiletpaper roll. She was sure she had blankets at home that were made out of thinner material. After washing her hands and drying them (with a multifunctional Dyson drying machine), she stepped back into the open air. She managed to walk past the stables, hoping she wouldn't fall and concentrated on her steps. She suddenly felt someone grab her rightwrist and yank her into one of the stables, she almost screamed.

"Sshh." Harry grinned at her, hoping she wouldn't hit him. "It's just me."

"You scared the shit out of me!" She playfuly slapped his chest.

"Yeah sorry about that." She noticed how he looked around, making sure no one saw them. When Harry realised they were alone, he managed to push her against the stablewall and kiss her eagerly.

She quickly responded when she felt his tongue grasp against her lips. "What if someone sees us?" She mumbled.

"They won't. Plus I think some people already figured it out anyways."

"Wait, what are you talking about?" She looked at him confused, did she do something wrong?

"You cheered me on like I was superman. And your cheers are loud." He chuckled. He had actually really enjoyed her background noises when he was playing. She was adorable.

"I did not."

"Yeah you did! You also kicked a patch of grass when William scored." He laughed at her.

Evee scrunched up her nose, looking at Harry. "I did?" She didn't know she was that into the game. Surely she had a competative side, always had. It didn't help that she grew up with an older brother either.

Harry nodded his head, "It was super cute."

"Well I am pretty cute, aren't I?" She grinned, throwing her hands around his neck.

"I said it was super cute, meaning your actions, not you." He teased her, grabbing her ass over her dress.

"Whatever, Vincent thought I was cute." Eveline already knew how to push his buttons. He did have a jealous side.

"You know, I can actually make sure that guy doesn't have a job tomorrow."

"Oh please, and while you're at it, push me into the dungeons as well." She rolled her eyes at him. "Anyways, I should actually get back to Kate."

"You'll meet me at Kensington?"

"Of course, I'm driving with her." Evee explained.

"Well, there's actually no need to drive with her. Will can drive along with Kate and you can come with me." Harry explained, not even caring if anyone would see. He just wanted to act like a normal couple, the whole sneaking around thing was getting a little old for him.

"People would notice." She spoke.

"I don't care. I just want to be able to show people you're mine." He pouted like a little kid.

"They'll find out soon enough, let's just enjoy this while it lasts, okay?"

"Fine."

Evee grinned grabbing his chin, "Now be a good boy and give your girlfriend a kiss." Harry smiled, leaning it to her. "I'll see you at your place okay?"

He nodded his head. When Evee stepped into the daylight, she was about to walk back to the field. That was the plan anyways, she felt Harry wrap his hand around her wrist once again, turning her around. He wasn't ready to let her go just yet. Just one more kiss.

She laughed when he wrapped his arms around her waist. "You should consider showering. You stink."

"It's a manly smell." He laughed, still holding her as Evee giggled.

"Very manly, wearing that white outfit with the tight pants."

"You like the tight pants, eh?"

"Yeah Harry, you better run before I try to rip them off your body." She spoke sarcastically, hoping no one would notice them. They were in public but no one was around.

"Really?!"

"God no, Harry!" She laughed.

"Come here, let me hold you against my manly chest." Squeeling Evee tried to run, but Harry was quicker, placing his arms around her waist once again and pulling her against him. Evee threw back her head and laughed when Harry tried to kiss her neck.

It was in that moment, the world changed a little bit. One lucky photographer couldn't help but feel the rush of adrenaline. He had just witnessed Prince Harry kiss the girl Catherine Middleton brought to the match. Linking one thing to the other, it was obvious that these two were not just friends.

He quickly took the lucky shot.

The elder man knew if would sell it, he wouldn't have to work for the rest of his life.

Oh boy, he was rich.

He knew that that shot was the story of something entirely new and exciting.
