Chapter Thirty Three
Evee sighed, turning around in Harry's big bed. It was monday and she didn't have to work, for once. Stretching her arm without opening her eyes, she searched for Harry, patting the bed. Letting out a yawn, she opened her eyes. He wasn't in bed with her, which was odd. There hadn't been a day that he didn't wake up next to her when she was off work.
Looking at the clock, she noticed it was already 8 o'clock. She knew Harry had to work today but when he usually left, he always woke her up to kiss her goodbye. He hadn't done that today. Pushing her bare legs over the edge of the bed, she quickly managed to pick harry's white shirt. They had thrown it off in a hurry last night and it hadn't moved from its spot on the floor.
Rolling up the sleeved and buttoning the shirt up, she quickly took some fresh underwear. Making her way to the bathroom, she peed and brushed her teeth. She found it odd that he wasn't there either.
He had to be in the living room. Bare feeted, she managed to walk towards his living room. When she noticed people were sitting around the dinner table, her feet abruptly stopped. Harry was the first to notice her standing in the doorway, she obviously didn't expect people to be there. Evee looked at Harry with a confused look, there were papers in the middle of the table. He had an edge of worry on his face.
"What's going on, Harry?"
The men in suits finally noticed her and were a little shocked to see the blonde haired beauty standing there with an obviously too big white shirt, which they could only assume came from the prince. They tried to advert their eyes from her legs as best as possible.
"They have pictures of us." Harry didn't want to beat around the bush. She would find out anyways. "They know you stayed at my place last night."
Evee let the words sink in. They knew Harry was her boyfriend. No wait, they knew Harry had a girlfriend, that was the best way to put it. "Do they know who I am? Do they know my identity?" She looked a little scared from Harry towards James, who was also sitting around the table.
"No madam, but we expect they won't take long to find out." James spoke. In the last couple of months, he also got to know her better. They hadn't spoken a lot, but he had the time to judge her character, standing from the sidelines. He knew she made the prince happy. He was there from their very first meeting to their first date and now they were sitting here, discussing this important matter. James could sense that Eveline didn't enjoy the attention she was getting and the fact that it would only get worse worried him. He didn't think he could handle another heartbroken prince.
She slowly nodded her head, "Okay. What do they know?"
Harry walked towards her, grabbed her hands and dragged her to the dining table. She quickly took a seat, not caring what attire she had on. Harry stood behind her, hands on her shoulders, praying to god she wouldn't run away.
Harry nodded his head at James, telling him to just go ahead and do it. "Well, madam-"
"James, we've known each other for months, please call me Evee."
The security guy smiled at her, "I'm afraid I can't do that, madam." His eyes made contact with Harry once again and he continued, "They know your name, they know that you guys have been together for some time, they know you work in healthcare, they know you're Belgian-"
"Wait, what? How do they know that?!" She hadn't spoken to anyone at the match about her herritage.
"We're not sure yet."
"God, my mother will lose her mind. I'll be on freaking Royalty."
"Royalty?" Harry asked, looking a little confused.
"It's a tv-show where they follow you important people around and just say what's new and stuff like that. The facts about the royals." She explained, she knew Mathias would record it anyways. He would act like a proud father. "Anyways, can I see the pictures?"
The guy next to Evee quickly passed some magazines and newspapers to her. Her eyebrows raised at the many titles.
'The end of an era: Harry's in love.'
'The spare is not a spare anymore.'
'It's over and out, ladies: Harry's off the hook!'
'Another blonde? The prince strikes again!'
"'Another blonde?', that's a little rude." Evee mumbled, looking at the front page picture. Harry was kissing her neck and she was laughing, throwing her head backwards.'
"Yeah, they're not very original." Harry agreed, looking along at the newspapers in a serious matter.
"Atleast my legs look good on these pictures." Evee smiled, noticing the signs of relief on the men's faces. "Well, you can't really see my face on this picture."
"There's actually a lot more on the inside. A couple with Kate." Harry spoke.
She quickly grabbed the Daily Mail, opening it.
There were indeed several pictures of her with Kate. There was one in which Kate had her arm intertwined with Evee's and they were walking towards the private area. The brunette was whispering something in her ear.
Another one of her with her hands in the air and her mouth open (which wasn't really flattering), she was obviously cheering someone on. And the newspapers knew it was Harry.
"Another shot at another possible princess" read the headlines.
Evee quickly started reading the article.
'Women all over the world are bawling their eyes out right now because Prince Harry isn't single anymore! Our favourite prince was spotted at a polo match with his new girlfriend. We don't know much about the woman but it seems as if this relationship is quite serious. The pretty blonde (what else) seemed to enjoy herself, talking animatedly with the duchess as if they've known each other for years.
What do we know for certain? Well, sources say that the new couple is very close with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (see picture on the right). The blonde had a comfortable banter with William, which may defend the fact that Harry and her have been a couple for quite some time. There have been rumours that they both met at an engament but no pictures were found. We haven't seen the girl before at any aristocrat events, which may point out the fact that this pretty face is just like you and I, a hardworking middle class girl.
Other sources speculate that the couple kept throwing glances at each other throughout the whole match. Harry even threw an occasional wink, apparentely making his girlfriend giggle-'
"Giggle?!"
Harry had to hold back laughter, he had read the article and he knew exactly how she would react on that particular sentence. "Do I look like someone who giggles?" Evee pointed at herself, looking at Harry behind her shoulder.
"Well, if they knew you personally they definitely wouldn't write giggling down. You have more of a barking laughter." He laughed.
"Whatever, I'm done reading this crap." Eveline rolled her eyes at him. "Now what's suppose to happen?"
"I honestly think it would be best if I just don't beat around the bush anymore. When people ask me about you, I'll just tell them the truth."
Evee nodded her head, "So that means you'll tell them I'm the most amazing, hilarious woman in the world?"
Harry snorted, "Sure."
