Chapter Ninety Four

"Are you ready for this?" Chloe grinned, sqeazing the blonde's kneecap in front of her. Today was the moment of truth, her family had come to London for the wedding. In just a little over three days she was going to be Harry's wife. "This is the end result."

Evee nodded her head, watching how the streets of London passed her by. Her parents, brother, sister in law and their two little boys were in the cars in front of her. "You'll be fine. I'm really excited for the dress." Catherine smiled.

"It is a wonderful day after all." The Duchess of Cornwall spoke. "I heard that it was going to be a beautiful day Friday. Only 4 percent chance of rain. Not too cold, not too warm. Perfect, really."

"Yes, we're lucky." The blonde smiled, finally noticing the van pulling over at Lily Dujardin's private property. It seemed as if the press knew who was going to design the future Duchess of Clarence and Avondale's dress and many of them were already camping outside of the shop to see the family arrive. Security had done everything to find a new secret location for all of them to come together. The doors of the van opened as she stepped outside carefuly, eying a different, white building.

"If you would follow me." Bobby spoke. Evee watched him communicate with Kate's security guards as her family and her managed to walk towards the entrance with their heads held down. They went through the back, opening the door to reveal a modern interior.

There were three long Chesterfields lounges all across the room, where Matteo, the youngest son of her brother, managed to crawl on immediately. "Matteo, hier blijven!" (Matteo, stay here!) She heard her sister in law, Jessica speak.

The blonde's godson, the eldest son of her brother, Andreas stood a little awkwardly behind Alexander, Evee's brother. The two of them had two opposite characters, whereas Andreas was calm and collected. Her other light, ginger nephew, Matteo had always been an elephant in a china shop. Evee held her heart for George and him at the wedding. Rehearsals were tomorrow and both of the kid's had to participate, since they had to walk the aisle.

"Lily! Hello." Evee grinned as she saw her wedding designer stepping forward. Eveline eagerly placed a kiss on her cheek as she watched Lily say hello to the rest of her family, Chloe, Kate and Camilla.

"Are you ready for the moment of truth?" The black haired, young woman spoke. She could not hide her enthusiasm, months and months of hard, handcrafted work were finally finished. She would be able to see the end result with her own eyes. This had been a life changing opportunity.

"I'm a little nervous to show the dress in front of everybody, but yes I am so ready." Evee grinned, handing her small purse towards her mother, who sat down on the Chesterfield piece next to her father. She could tell from his eyes that he already tried not to cry. Her mother squeezed the solely tissue in her hand nervously. Evee already knew that this was going to be a cryfest.

"Follow me then, we'll do everything exactly as we shall do on Friday. Did you bring the shoes?" Evee watched how Chloe took out the small, crème coloured heels and handed them over. "Perfect. Come on." Lily grinned. After months of being a nervous mess around Prince Harry's fiancé, she finally came to realize that Evee was just a person like someone else. If she would have met the woman in real life, Lily was certain they would have been good friends. "Kelly will give you all something to drink. It think champagne is in the order."

The blonde watched how Lily's assistant nervously poured some glasses while Eveline followed her wedding dress designer towards an adjacent room. Her dress was carefully hanging on a red, suede covered coat rack. It once again took away her breath. "I will let you undress first." Lily smiled at her, leaving the room for a couple of minutes. "You can already put on the bra if you like."

Evee sighed, taking off her yellow, light dress and heels. She took off her bra and replaced it with the custom made one she would wear on Friday. She stood there a little awkwardly when Lily re-entered the room, trying to be as subtle as possible. She carefully grabbed the dress, pushing it off the coat rack. "Ready for this?" The girl smiled once again, making eye contact with the blonde.

"Yes." Evee replied, finally stepping into her dress. Her eyes contacted with the big mirror in front of her, the dress wasn't even closed yet and it already fit like a glove.

"I adjusted the sleeves like you suggested last time." Lily smiled, noticing her clients glossy look. Evee bit her lip, trying not to cry. Anna had done her hair and make-up like it would be on Friday. The only thing missing were her jewelries and the tiara. "Right, let us step into your shoes and then I will try to place the veil on top of it. It of course, won't be the same without the tiara but it's quite close."

Evee nodded her head, stepping into her heels. Her engagement ring fit the dress remarkably, she of course couldn't wear it on the ceremony itself, but she was planning on it when it was friends and family at the immediate party. The blonde watched how Lily brought over the gorgeous, vintage, long veil. She lowered her head so Lily could place the veil with much grace upon her blonde, half up hair. "Right." Lily spoke, covering Evee's bare arms and face with the long veil. She walked behind the dress, stretching it out, pushing the veil over it.

In that moment, Evee and her locked eyes for a minute and Harry's fiancé could tell that even Lily tried to keep it dry. "I told myself I wasn't going to cry. I will do that on Friday."

"Okay." Evee's voice cracked, trying to hold it together. With the veil covering her appearance, she looked different. Almost mysterious. This would be the first glance the public would see of her, until her father actually lifted it up for her, by then she would be already standing next to Harry, at the high altar of St Paul's.

"Are you ready to show everything to your family?" Lily spoke with a gentle smile. Evee nodded her head, afraid that if she were to speak, she would actually really bawl.  "Let's go then." The blonde followed her wedding dress designer out of the room. The satin of the dress felt light against her skin and she was really glad that she choose a comfortable dress. Evee watched how Lily stepped aside and when her feet finally connected with the room her family was in, there was a dead silence for at least 20 seconds.

Her eyes timidly contacted with her father's through the veil and it was then that her heart pounded in her chest for the very first time. Tears were leaking down his cheeks as the man she had looked up to her entire life, tried to hold it together but failed miserably. She swallowed the lump in her throat as he stood up and walked towards her with a proud smile. His shaken fingers contacted with the long veil, gently pushing it over her head to reveal her tear stained cheeks. Danny Delamane gently wrapped his arms around his small daughter's neck, carefuly trying not to creak the veil. "Adembenemend." (Breathtaking) He mumbled in her air. "Beautiful."

Evee smiled, pushing her head back a little bit to see her father stare at the dress. Her delicate fingers contacted with his cheek, trying to wipe away the tears. "You know the best thing about this dress?" Her father questioned.

Evee shook her head, ignoring everybody in the room staring at the two of them with tears in their eyes. "No."

"You." He smiled, grabbing her hands in his. "Always my little princess. Altijd." Danny beamed, placing one single kiss on her right cheek.

Evee noticed her mother standing up, still sniffling a little. Ingrid pet Danny's shoulder, "Ik denk als we zo gaan huilen vrijdag dat de pers heel blij zal zijn. We zullen ons moeten inhouden." (I think if we cry like this on Friday, the press shall have a field day. We'll have to compose ourselves.) Evee's mother turned towards the blonde. "You look like an angel."

Evee smiled gratefully as her mother threw her arms around her. "I love you."

"I love you too, sweetheart. Are you ready for Friday?"

"I really, really am." The blonde grinned, nodding her head at everybody in the room.

"I think Harry won't keep it dry when he sees you." Camilla smiled sweetly, ignoring Chloe quietly sniffing her nose right next to her. "You look spectacular. The veil really fits the dress... This gown has you written all over it."

"Thank you, Camilla." Evee took a deep breath. "Okay. Everything fits, I just have to make sure I don't eat too many chocolate biscuits anymore." She stared at herself for another minute in the mirror. This was actually happening. She would look like this on her wedding day. She loved every single detail about this dress. Deep in thought, she finally noticed Andreas standing next to her, tugging on her arm.

"Je ziet er heel mooi uit, tante." (You look really pretty, Aunt Evee) He spoke with a timid, shy smile.

Evee crunched down, taking in the boy that look so much like her brother did when he was a kid. She had felt so blessed when her brother and her sister in law announced their first pregnancy and asked her to be the Godmother. She had loved to watch him grow over the years. "Thank you, Andreas. I love you, you know that right?"

The boy nodded his head, ignoring his brother strutting over to them. "Zie je mij ook graag?" (Do you love me too?)

"Natuurlijk. I love you both." Evee nodded her head, feeling how both their little arms wrapped around her neck. "Zijn jullie niet te nerveus voor vrijdag?" (Are you nervous for Friday?)

"Papa zegt dat we in mooie koetsen mogen zitten en alle koningen mogen ontmoeten." (Daddy said that we can ride in pretty carriages and meet all the kings of the world.) Matteo spoke, a beam on his face.

Evee laughed, throwing her head back, "Zie je die twee mevrouw zitten? Naast Chloe?" (Do you see those two beautiful ladies sitting next to Chloe?)

The children both eagerly eyed Camilla and Kate, who were now talking to her mother. The boys nodded their heads. "Die gaan alletwee met een koning trouwen." (They'll both be married to a king one day.)

The kid's eyes widened as they stared at the two beautiful women laughing with their grandmother. "Gaat Nonkel Harry een koning worden?" Matteo wondered. (Will uncle Harry be king one day?)

Evee chuckled, "Nee. Gelukkig niet nee." (No, thank god no.)

"Ik zou dat graag wel eens zien." Alexander, Evee's brother smirked. "Jullie twee die dit land moeten regeren." (I would like to see that. You two trying to reign this country.)

"Ik denk niet dat het goed zou komen." (I don't think it would end well.) The blonde grinned, shuffling Matteo's hair and standing up straight.

"Je ziet er echt heel mooi uit, zusje." (You look really, really beautiful, sis.) Alexander smiled, taking a step back to admire his little sister. Between the two of them, she had always been the wild child. He was the quiet one, he always waited in the background while she paraded up front. It was in times like these that he really realized how special she was. She had always encouraged him to follow his heart, he had always reminded her that following her mind sometimes would be safer. They balanced each other out perfectly and he couldn't have asked for a better sister.

They were the kind of brother and sister that never really told each other how much love and protectiveness they shared. It had always been nonverbal. An angry glance at an ex-boyfriend or just sticking up for her on the playground (although, he had to admit, she usually was the one sticking up for him).

"I can't wait for Friday." He mumbled in a thick accent, "I'm proud of you, always been. He's a lucky man."

It was in moments like this that she realized the real importance of having a family.
