Chapter Ninety

Evee and Harry had spent New Year this year at Norfolk with the rest of the Royal Family. Eugenie and Beatrice actually came to the countryside along with their father. Even the Prince Of Wales came along to celebrate more quietly. With January ending, the London cold air also started heating up. Evee couldn't help but stare at her calendar every day. Just 30 days left until the wedding. She didn't even try to remember all the things that still needed to be done, she knew she'd start hyperventilating.

She wrapped the thin scarf around her neck and stared at Harry, he was tying his shoes. "I think most of the tuxedos are covered, anyways." He spoke, nodding his head at her. "We just have to wait until your family gets here for the final touches. The measurements should be right."

She honestly didn't want to think about it, just for one day. She just wanted a quiet walk with her fiancé, hand in hand, silently strolling through the park. She needed the fresh air right now. Her one hand was carefully carrying Bennett's leash and the old dog was looking at the couple in anticipation.

"My grandmother actually called me to talk about dukedoms." He informed Evee, grabbing her hand and dragging her along outside.

"Really?" She answered, a little curious.

"She said we should be getting the administration today. She didn't want to ruin the surprise but thought that we did need to know beforehand, since we'll sign the papers at St- Paul's."

"Oh okay." She honestly didn't feel like talking much today. She just wanted to enjoy this Sunday. The couple had breakfast at Kensington with William and Kate, like every Sunday morning. She just wanted to appreciate this day off. It was nice to just have some time with Harry and Bennett, things have gotten hectic the past months. Time was really flying by. "Do you have any suspicious on what it could be?"

"Honestly, not really. It'll be nice to know of course, but it's not the first thing on my mind right now."

Evee felt Harry walking her outside of the private area of Kensington Palace and stepping into the public. Her eyes immediately scanned the area. "What's on your mind then?"

"Honestly?"

"Of course." The blonde spoke, a little more quietly. They were slowly marching towards the Queen Victoria statue with their heads down, ignoring the tourists looking at them in wonder. Most of them didn't realize it was Prince Harry, his fiancée and their dog marching past them quietly. Every once and a while Bennett stopped to sniff the grass.

"The little event our friends have planned for us in two weeks." Harry shrugged, releasing her hand and wrapping his arm around her neck.

She immediately returned his gesture by wrapping her left arm around his waist and pushing her head in the crook of his shoulder. Her beanie was carefully planted on her hair. She hoped it would help staying incognito for just a little while. "The bachelor?"

"I'm not worried about mine, more about yours." He mumbled a little insecure.

The blonde couldn't help but laugh, throwing her head back. "Why?" She didn't really know he was that insecure. "Bennett, come here!" She yelled, tugging on the leash a little. He seemed to have spotted a duck in the distance and couldn't control his enthusiasm. Thank god, he was on leash.

"Do you want me to walk with him?" Harry spoke with question.

"No it's fine." She smiled, "Why are you worried?"

"My friends are older than yours. They have wives and children. Your friend group is..." He couldn't really seem to find the right words. He didn't dare to as well, knowing that his fiancée was looking at him with a challenging expression underneath her beanie.

"More single and more... Dramatic?" She answered, chuckling a little.

"That would be one way to put it yes." He answered with a smile, staring straight ahead. They were walking around the pond now, Evee couldn't help but see tourists grabbing their phones from a distance.

"Look, your cousins will be there and Kate will be there as well. I'm certain they'll keep it a little more classy." The blonde honestly didn't really know what to expect of her own hen night. She knew there would be strippers, Chloe had told her that part when they actually choose the dress designer, she just didn't dare to tell Harry.

"You're telling me Mathias will keep it classy?" He raised his eyebrows at her.

"Well, a little more than usual. I'm not saying it'll be royal etiquette but you know." Evee mumbled, realizing by now that 'a little less than usual- mathias classy' would still be 'over the top for normal people classy'.  "Go ahead, ask me. I know you want to." The blonde grinned, knowing that the questions would come up.

"Strippers?" He cringed, whispering the words in her ear so no one would hear.

"I'm pretty sure, yes." Evee answered in all honesty. "You?"

"I have no clue. I honestly think it'll be more of a gentleman's night. Cigars and whiskey. No out of control dancing and binge drinking."

She nodded her head, breathing in the fresh air and ignoring the stares of people around them. "That sounds like fun."

"Yours sound like more fun. I'm almost scared in your place." Harry confessed.

"You're jealous, aren't you?" She grinned, turning her head up and stepping in front of him.

She watched how he cringed his nose and shook his head, "No..."

"You are!" Evee laughed, wrapping both her arms around his waist. He was wearing his I Am Invictus winter coat. "I promise I'll be a good girl."

"Kate will send me videos anyways. We have a deal." Harry smiled, looking in her green eyes.

"She wouldn't break girl code. I know she wouldn't. What happens on the hen night, stays on the hen night. It's a no cellphone night. Chloe said to me that everybody walking in, will have to give up their phones anyways."

"I'll plant a Go Pro in the securities suits." Harry simply stated, shrugging his shoulders and walking further.

"If I were you I'd plant them in the strippers' underwear, but I don't think they'll be wearing any." Evee  mumbled, knowing all too well it would push his buttons a little.

"Evee!"

"I'm kidding! At least I hope I'm kidding." The blonde laughed. "I promise you, no stripper can ever compare to you. I love you." She pointed out, a smile on her face. "Maybe we should stop talking strippers, we are in public after all."

"Want to go back and check out if we have any mail from my grandmother yet?" Harry grinned, still ignoring the sting of jealousy in his chest.

"That would be great." Evee grinned, turning around with her hand locked into his. She leaned her head closer to his and whispered, "And Harry, if you do fuck a stripper, I will kill you."

He couldn't help but throw back his head, ignoring the many cellphone cameras clicking the day away. "Can I look though?" He whispered back, a grin on his face.

"Of course, it's the only way you will realize how amazing my tits are." She whispered back, holding back laughter and eyeing the palace coming in view.

They managed to quietly stroll back towards the private area, saying hello to the security staff by the gates. She followed Harry towards his private secretary and waited patiently with Bennett outside when he stepped inside the room. She knew how big of a deal this was for Harry, she honestly hadn't given it a thought. She didn't care about a title, but she knew Harry wanted to move on from his Prince status. He had wished for a dukedom throughout his whole life because it meant one thing; he'd finally have a family.

People would see him as more than just the spare, solo guy that came along with his brother and his sister in law. Having a dukedom, meant having a duchess and for that he couldn't wait.

"Right." He took a deep breath and Evee immediately knew he had the papers. She eyed the big brown, thick envelope in his hands. "Here or at Notthingham?"

"Let's just wait another two minutes and do this in our home." Evee smiled. She knew he was excited because he eagerly nodded his head at her and dragged her towards the entrance of the courtyard. His pace was a little quicker than before, the dog even had trouble keeping up. His right hand was holding on to the envelope, his left to his fiancée.

The blonde managed to open the doors calmly, ignoring Harry's fumbling fingers behind her. "Let me just grab this." She managed to pull the envelope out of his hands and enter the hallway, releasing Bennett.

"What are you doing?"

"You're going to crumble the papers, these are the ones we need to sign at the church and I'm not having you crease it already." She answered taking off her boots and her coat. "Let us just grab a class of wine first."

"Fine." He huffed, quickly moving on to the cabinet that held the wineglasses. "Red or white?"

"Red for me, please." She planted herself on one of the dining chairs and placed the envelope in the middle of the table. Harry brought two glasses of red wine and sat down in front of her, eyeing the envelope.

"You have the honor." She grinned, pushing the envelope a little closer to him and taking a sip from her wine.

"No, you should do it." He shook his head.

"Harry, you want this a lot more than I do. This title means more to you than to me. Open it." Evee smiled, encouraging him to finally do it. Her curiosity was actually getting quite high as well.

She watched him nodding his head, "Any bets?" He eyed her underneath his eyelashes as he picked up the envelope. "Sussex?"

"The pun would actually fit us." Evee snickered, "But it's not going to be that one, I think. Kate said it would be a different one."

"I always thought it was going to be Sussex though." Harry spoke, looking at her.

"Just open it up and find out." She grinned. Evee watched how her prince carefully took out the bundle of papers. The first one didn't hold any information because she saw Harry pushing it aside. His eyes carefully scanned the small letters in front of him and finally a big smile covered his features. "Come on! Say it, you can't leave me stranded here!"

"Clarence and Avondale."

"That's actually really beautiful." Evee stared. "So in less than a month, you will be sitting here as The Duke of Clarence and Avondale." The blonde grinned at him.

"Well, you'll be The Duchess of Clarence and Avondale." He beamed back, "It does sound a lot better than Sussex, doesn't it?"

"It really does. Your grandmother has really good taste, I've never heard of it. I will need to inform myself a lot better." Evee confessed, looking over the many papers that Harry just handed her over.

"I don't think she wanted to give me the Clarence title because of the whole Jack The Ripper crap that went on in the past."

"Jack The Ripper crap?" She looked at him in confusion.

"There are rumours that one of the previous Dukes of Clarence was apparently Jack The Ripper, I'll spare you the details." He shrugged, waving his hands in the air. "The Clarence and Avondale has been extinct for quite some time and there's only one person who had it, I think the son of Edward VII. It was the last royal dukedom to be created with two territorial designations."

"You know a lot of stuff about this." Evee mumbled, still looking at the words 'The Duchess of Clarence and Avondale' and her full birth name scripted underneath. The only thing she had to do was marry Harry and sign the papers. It was as simple as that. She'd be a fucking Duchess.

Holy crap, when did that happen?!

"I kind of had to study all this stuff. It actually comes along with the fact that I'm born into royalty." Harry chuckled, wincing when he saw her drink the red wine over the papers. "Please, be careful with that. My grandmother would kill me if you spill red wine over the contracts."

"Oops, sorry." The blonde blushed, carefully placing away the glass and returning her attention towards the papers. "So you'll be a duke the moment we step out of St-Paul's on March 2nd?"

"Yes, and you'll be a duchess."

"I'm more looking forward to be your wife, in all honesty." She gave him a sweet smile.

"Me too." He covered his hand with hers. "To be your husband, I mean."

"I got that, Harry." Evee laughed.

"I honestly can't wait to see you walk down the aisle." He smiled sincerely. "I know you'll look like an angel."

"Hmm, I love you."

"And I love you too. Now, how many strippers did Chloe say there would be?" She couldn't help but roll her eyes at him and stand up. "Hey! Where are you going?!"

Author's note: Countdown, just 9 chapters to go! With each chapter, I'll try to give you guys some information. I really hope you like Clarence and Avondale, I think it sounds really good. Sussex is too obvious and bleh. At first I wanted Clarence but then I did some wiki research and stumbled up on this one and I think it sounds wonderful. It's different, just like these two are. Hope you are happy. Again, if you are a Harry Potter fan (in particular Sirius Black - marauders time), go check out my new story Pure Thoughts.
