Chapter Eighty Three
With Bobby's help, It didn't take long for Evee to find her way to her seats. She couldn't hide the Cheshire cat smile on her face when she sat down next to Kate. She noticed how the brunette crooked her eyebrow at her. "What happened to you?" The Duchess spoke, helping Charlotte to take a sip from her plastic cup filled with water.
"I just met an idol of mine in the hallways. You know, Alex Turner, the front man of Arctic Monkeys?" She spoke with a lowered voice.
"I've heard of them, yes." She tried to laugh at Evee's flushed cheeks. Kate remembered how she was blown away the very first time she was star struck. It wasn't something she'd easily forget.
"I literally bumped into him in the corridor. We had a nice conversation." Evee grinned, accepting the glass of diet coke someone brought her. She quickly took a sip and looked around the stadium. The place was already packed and she could tell that many tried to take pictures of Kate, the kids and her. Trying not to stare too eagerly, she turned towards Kate again. "He asked me what my favorite song was."
Kate laughed, shaking her head. "I'm glad. What did you say?"
"Arabella."
The brunette's eyes scanned the blonde's facial expression. "You literally look like you just won a million dollars."
"It's Alex Turner, Kate. ALEX TURNER." Evee explained, emphasizing on the front man's name. She put her head closer to Kate's ear and spoke in a hushed voice. "I'll gladly let you know that I have created many fantasies about that man when I was a teenager."
She watched how Kate put her hand in front of her mouth and giggled, ignoring the clicking sound by the many photographers.
"I still love Harry to death though." Evee spoke, hoping that Kate wouldn't get the wrong message. Harry was her fiancé, her better half. Alex Turner could perform fifteen thousand songs in his naked bare ass and she still wouldn't fall for him. It was just a school girl crush.
"Oh I know." The brunette grinned. Evee was about to continue rambling to her future sister in law when she saw the curtains fall down the stage and bright lights turning on. In the middle of the stage stood a piano, occupied by none other than Elton John. The crowd went crazy as his fingers gently swayed over the keys. When Elton's voice finally sang through the speakers, Evee recognized it as Your Song.
It had always been one of her favorites.
She couldn't help but sway along to the music, watching the man on the big screen in front of her. Her mouth carefully moved along the words, singing along gently.
She watched how George stood on his seat to have a better view of the podium and smiled. The little prince was sitting in between his nanny and Kate. Charlotte had her little butt planted in between Kate and Evee. Both kids were wearing earmuffs and she thought the little girl sitting next to her looked adorable.
"Their speech is after this song." Kate spoke, leaning towards Evee over Charlotte. "William was very nervous."
The blonde nodded her head, clapping her hands along with the crowd gracefully when the final notes played. She noticed how Elton took over the microphone and brought it to his lips. "Hello! Welcome everybody!" The crowd went insane as Evee nervously smiled. She knew somewhere backstage Harry was a nervous mess. He never liked speeches. "It has been ten years since the last concert and I am pleased to welcome once again, the two main characters of this whole organization. Please give a warm welcome to their Royal Highnesses, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry!"
The crowd immediately applauded as Eveline did the same. She nearly whistled on her fingers but decided against it. She couldn't help but to enthusiastically scream along with the crowd, ignoring the fact that her own face was now on the big screen on the left of the stage.
She could hear Charlotte's voice as the girl pointed to the screen, "Daddy!". Kate was busy talking to George and the blonde decided to pick the girl up so she could see her father better. Immediately Charlotte wrapped her arms around Eveline's neck. The nurse carefully wrapped her arms around Charlotte's bare legs, making sure the pink dress she wore didn't wrinkle.
"Yes, that's daddy and uncle Harry on stage, isn't it?" The blonde grinned, pointing along with Charlotte to the stage.
"Aunt Evee!" The girl spoke, pointing towards the other screen that now contained Charlotte and her. "And me!" The little princess continued, laughing at herself.
Eveline couldn't help but chuckle as she heard Harry welcoming the crowd. "Hello Wembley!" Harry shouted into the microphone, getting a loud applause. They stilled after 10 seconds as he continued. "I am so happy to see so many of you here tonight supporting this special show. Thank you for coming. In advance I apologize that this show includes William and I talking on stage." Evee chuckled, shaking her head.
William grinned at his brother. Evee watched how he stepped closer to the microphone. "We wanted to share this evening with everyone one of you because tonight is about all the things my mother loved in life. Music, laughter, dancing, friends and family. It's been ten years since the last show and many things have changed. My mother is now a grandmother of two wonderful, loving children of which I am certain of, she would have adored." The blonde couldn't help but smile sadly, shifting her eyes towards Charlotte in her arms and Kate. "She would have been a mother in law to the love of my life and to my future sister in law."
Evee watched how Kate smiled upon the screen, she knew how very proud she was. The blonde watched with full attention how Harry scanned the crowd with his eyes. She wasn't sure if he was searching her or just taking in the moment. "I hope everybody enjoys tonight. I am certain that she is looking down on us, dancing and singing along to every song. Thank you for coming. Now, I'd like to introduce you to one of my mother's favourite artists, Lionel Richie!"
The nurse couldn't wipe the proud smile off her face when she watched Harry and William give Lionel Richie a short hug and leave the stage. Immediately music started playing and she swayed Charlotte to the beat on her hip.
It took four songs for Harry to finally enter the box. Evee had placed Charlotte with much grace back on her seat. When Harry finally stood next to her, he planted a kiss on her cheek, knowing fully well how everything was recorded. He could see Evee grinning at him, she shouted in his ear. "You did so good! It must have been nerve wrecking."
From the corner of her eye she could see William joining them as she raised her thumb at him, implying how well he did it. William was too far away from her and she couldn't really understand him over the music. He just gave her a grin back and mouthed thank you.
"It was nerve wrecking. I am glad that part is over and we can enjoy the rest of the evening." He spoke in her ear.
"Do you have to go back on stage later on though?" Evee questioned.
"Just at the very end." She nodded her head, shifting her eyes back towards the stage. The could hear the intro of a song she know. Shit, Kanye West just walked up on the stage. She tried to ignore her insides squealing. Of course she knew every Kanye song.
"Please, don't start rapping." She could hear her fiancé speak in her ear with a held back grin.
"I'll let you know that I'm an excellent rapper." Her hips swayed along as her arms raised in the air along with the beat. All Falls Down was blurring through the speakers as she softly mouthed the words.
Harry laughed, swaying his hips along with hers in a gentle matter. "I never said you weren't."
She grinned up at him, dancing along gently. She couldn't start dancing the robot, nor the lawn mower here. It wasn't like she could perform her Beyonce synchronic dance. She had to keep her dignity. She decided to just gently move along with Harry, the smile never leaving her face.
She couldn't help but throw her head back in laughter when he pushed his bottom against her side and shook it. Evee tried to ignore the twitch in her hand, she wanted to spank his ass in a playful matter.
No she couldn't do that.
The Queen would be so mad at them both.
She could feel him wrapping his arms around her neck and swung back and forth, holding her close to his chest. He leaned his head on top of hers. She had taken off her hat when the sun set thirty minutes ago. Harry could smell her strawberry shampoo.
When Tom Jones hit the stage with She's a Lady, he couldn't help but place a kiss on her head. He didn't want to share this moment with anyone else. The fact that she was here dancing along so gracefully with the beats of the song. The way she had supported him throughout this ideal, yet difficult evening meant the world to him.
He realized his mother would have been so proud.
So many things had changed in these past ten years. George and Charlotte weren't born yet. Kate wasn't even there and Eveline was still somewhere causing mayhem in Belgium. His brother and him had travelled a long road. A beautiful road with the best destination he could think of.
When Tom Jones finally left the stage after singing Kiss. Various artists performed including Coldplay (both him and Evee sang every word along with much enthusiasm), The Kooks, Keane, Florence + The Machine and Duran Duran.
He thought he had already seen his fiancé excited but it wasn't until The Arctic Monkeys stepped on to the stage that he couldn't hold back his laughter. She reminded him of a Duracell Bunny, trying to keep her legs still and her voice lowered. She couldn't scream along with the crowd so she just applauded eagerly. He knew she wanted to shout and let go but she couldn't.
Eveline on the other hand watched how the band entered the stage with loud applause. Kate and her made eye-contact once again. She watched how her future sister in law tried to not point and laugh at her. She shifted her eyes back on stage, but not before looking at Bobby, who tried to be as professional as possible. He couldn't fool the blonde though, she could tell by the way that he bit his lip that he wanted to laugh along with Kate.
She watched how Alex turned threw the guitar over his shoulder. "Are you excited?" Harry teased in her ear from behind her.
"Ecstatic."
"Harry!" Kate shouted, trying to draw attention from her brother in law. "Did you know Evee attacked the lead singer in the corridor?"
Eveline couldn't help but squint her eyes at Kate. Of course, she had to tease her. "I didn't attack him. I merely bumped into him."
She watched how William jumped into the conversation, "Poor guy. You didn't assault him, right?"
"I was a perfect professional, thank you very much." She ignored the fact that she jumped into a different hallway, James Bond style none the less, when she merely saw the image of him. She also had to remember to delete the message she sent to Chloe about her tits touching Alex Turner's chest and the way she thought he smelled like chocolate.
"Really? What did he say?" Harry questioned, being intrigued. His eyes flashed towards the handsome man on stage speaking to the crowd.
"Nothing special. He asked me what my favourite song was, that's all." She mumbled, turning beetroot red. Evee noticed Harry crooking his eyebrow at her, trying to hold back a smile. He'd have to ask Bobby to get the facts straight. "Now let me just enjoy this."
"You're cute." The prince stated, placing a kiss on her cheek from behind her.
She thought her ears had deceived her but nothing was further from the truth. It indeed was Alex Turner who spoke to the crowd, his eyes subconsciously seeking out the Royal Box. "This is to the beautiful lady I crashed into back in the corridor. You have a great smile. My apologies once again. This is Arabella." Her eyes enlarged at his voice and her mouth widened. She had to remember that they were being filmed. She immediately composed herself, trying to get rid of her red cheeks.
Arabella's got some interstellar-gator skin boots
And a helter skelter 'round her little finger and I ride it endlessly
She's got a Barbarella silver swimsuit
And when she needs to shelter from reality she takes a dip in my daydreams
She had to remember for a minute where she was. Alex Turner had just dedicated a song to her. Holy crap. She could feel Kate's stare as she shifted her eyes towards her. "Not a word, Kate."
She watched how the Duchess stifled a giggle. Harry noticed the interaction between the two and he finally realized what just happened.
My days end best when this sunset gets itself
Behind that little lady sitting on the passenger side
It's much less picturesque without her catching the light
The horizon tries but it's just not as kind on the eyes
"Was he talking about you back in the corridor?" Harry purred in her ear.
She tried biting her lip, she wasn't embarrassed, far from it. The little fangirl inside of her was screaming. He had just dedicated her favourite Arctic Monkeys song towards her. "I guess so, I told him Arabella was my favourite."
As Arabella
As Arabella
Just might have tapped into your mind and soul
You can't be sure
"Should I start wearing a leather jacket now?" Harry grinned, trying not to let his jealous side rise. "Comb my hair all James Dean style?"
Of course the rock star was impressed with his fiancé. She had a certain aura about her that made everybody intrigued. It didn't help that she was a beautiful human being, inside and out. Harry remembered that he was marrying her, not that Alex Turner guy.
She was his. She'd always be his.
Arabella's got a seventies head
But she's a modern lover
It's an exploration, she's made of outer space
And her lips are like the galaxy's edge
And her kiss the colour of a constellation falling into place
She turned around, her back towards the stage, a tongue-in-cheek grin on her cheeks. She stared at him with that familiar twinkle in her eye and he knew she'd say something teasingly. "Oh sweety, I love you so much but you don't have enough hair to pull off that look."
Remembering that they were being filmed, he tried keeping his arms next to his body instead of locking her into a teasing head lock. "I'll get you back for that at home though."

"I'm looking forward to it." She grinned, raising her eyebrow at him with challenge.
"Don't you have to watch your rockstar?" Harry whispered in her ear, curving his arms around her neck and pulling her into his chest. For once, he didn't care about the cameras. He wanted to hold her.
That's magic in a cheetah print coat
Just a slip underneath it I hope
Asking if I can have one of those
Organic cigarettes that she smokes
Wraps her lips round the Mexican coke
Makes you wish that you were the bottle
Takes a sip of your soul and it sounds like...
"I'm watching my favourite human and that's more than enough." She spoke, her green eyes searching through his blue orbs. She couldn't help but sigh happily when he placed his lips on hers in a gentle kiss. His grandmother would just have to scold him again for lack of dignity in public.
This moment was more important.
Just might have tapped into your mind and soul
You can't be sure
