Chapter Eighty Five

"Bennett! No!" Evee watched as the dog lifted his leg in slow motion, horror taking over her face. The Victorian coffee table next to their couch had been one of the Beagle's favourite historical pieces in the house and he quite enjoyed making them his own by marking his territory. "No!" Her eyes frantically searched for Harry, relieve taking over when she saw that he wasn't home yet. "Potty outside, Bennett! Bad boy!" She ushered the dog outside.

The dog gently wobbled outside and she was glad when he lifted his leg against the Cherry Tree instead of the 250 year old table.

Bennett had been with them for a week and the dog did seem to have a mind of its own. She knew Beagles were stubborn creatures and it would take some time to settle in, she just didn't think Bennett would have a preference to the oldest decoration pieces in the house.

She couldn't help but think that he did have taste in that department.

"Good boy! Yes!" Evee smiled when the dog enthusiastically marched towards her, his tail waving in keenness.  "Do you want me to scratch your belly? Yes?" The animal immediately turned around, rolling himself on his back. His small paws were sticking out in the air, almost invisible through his fat chest. She immediately scratched his chest. "You know you'll have to go on a diet, right? Believe me, I know how much it sucks but it comes with the job."

The dog didn't understand but he stuck out his tongue, lying on his back. The blonde wanted to continue scratching his belly but was interrupted by Harry, opening the terrace door. Bennett immediately ignored her and tried to roll back on his stomach. It took him almost 30 seconds to turn around and march towards Harry to welcome him. "Bennett!" Harry scrunched down in his blue trousers and light blue rolled up sleeves and scratched behind his big ears.

It seemed as if in a week the dog managed to capture Harry's heart more than it captured Evee's when she first saw him. She thought it was a little unfair that Bennett was favouring Harry by now. If it wasn't for her, he'd still be in that pen. "You cannot do that, you know. Take away all his attention from me when you come home." Evee started at both of them cuddling.

"He just missed me, that's all." Harry grinned, almost rolling his eyes at her pout.

Yesterday, they introduced Bennett to George and Charlotte and it seemed as if he adored children. The otherwise, quite lazy dog seemed to come alive when they played with him. Evee hadn't even seen him run but when George chased him, she thought he actually got to the incredible five miles per hour. Harry took it as a perfect opportunity to let her know that after the wedding they should start having babies just for the sake of Bennett.

The blonde knew better.

"How was work today?" Harry's fiancé asked, standing up straight and dusting her jeans with her own hands.

"We're organizing the last important things for Invictus Games." Harry stated, still rubbing Bennett ears.

Harry and her were going to the Invictus Games 2017 at the end of September in Toronto. Evee was very excited to finally officially see with her own eyes what her future husband had accomplished. She was a little less thrilled about the plane ride but she was sure she'd survive. It would be her first time in Canada and after hearing Kate's wonderful stories, she was eager to see what the country had to offer.

"You're thrilled, aren't you?" She spoke with a tiny voice.

"I've been wanting to show it to you since the last games so yes, I'm very eager to introduce you to everybody." The prince stated, the grin never leaving his face.

"Apart from the plane ride, I'm really looking forward to it."

"You'll be fine. Anyways, I've been wanting to talk to you about a couple of things. Oliver has asked us about our honeymoon." Harry stood up, leaving the dog to watch him with wondering eyes. The prince walked over towards Evee and kissed her. "I haven't even kissed you yet."

"Well, you were a little too busy welcoming the dog." Evee mumbled, kissing him back.

He crooked his eyebrows at her and sat down on one of the terrace stools. "Are we getting jealous, now?"

"Maybe just a little." The blonde spoke, taking the chair across from him. She watched how Bennett started sniffing around on the mown. "What about our honeymoon, though?"

"We have to decide where we'll go. They need to start making preparations."

Evee nodded her head, she hadn't really thought about it, with everything going on about the wedding, her and Harry's birthday, Heart Child, the memorial concert and now the Invictus Games, things were getting a little busy. "Where do you want to go?" She wrapped her fingers around the glass of red wine she poured herself a half an hour ago and sipped.

"I don't know. What do you suggest? Are there any places you'd like to go?" He questioned.

She thought about it for a minute, "I don't want to have a beach vacation... I want to see things... Oh! A roadtrip!"

"Ah roadtrip will be a little difficult, Evee. We kind of have to remember who we are..." Harry replied, biting his cheek. He did feel kind of bad, there were many places he could take her. He could give her the whole world if he wanted to but there would always be limitations by their status.

"Right. Well, what about Sweden or Iceland?" Evee suggested, hoping he wouldn't notice that the suggested countries that weren't that far away.

"Sweden?" He stared at her in confusion. "I promise you we'll be going to Scandinavia in the next upcoming years for engagements already."

"I want to go somewhere it's not warm."

"You are an incredibly strange woman." He stared at her, still can't believing she didn't want to lay on the beach for fourteen days.

"What about Lapland? There's snow there. Oh! The Northern Lights!" Eveline looked as if she saw the lights already. "I would really, really like to see The Northern Lights! We can go on reindeer and husky excursions! We can sleep underneath The Northern Lights!"

He grinned at her enthusiasm and actually really liked the sound of that idea, "That actually sounds really lovely. It's would be quite cold to sleep underneath the Northern Lights but I've heard they have these special cabins with see through ceilings. We could sleep underneath the stars."

"Yes! Yes!" She eagerly nodded her head. "And it's not like there's tons of people there, we'd have our privacy. Make love in front of the fireplace." She cheekily spoke in a suggestive way, raising her eyebrows at him.

He laughed at her, "I love that idea. We can go skiing. It's been a while for me."

"I can't ski." Evee replied, looking a little embarrassed.

"What do you mean?" Harry stared at her in confusion.

"I mean that I can't ski." She stated, shrugging.

"Everybody can ski."

"No Harry, everybody you know can ski. All these aristocrats go on their little holidays in the mountains to gracefully slide down in the snow." He rolled his eyes at him as she visually explained herself with her hands in front of her. "Normal people cannot ski. I cannot ski. I can do après-ski. But I cannot ski."

"So let me get this straight, you cannot ski?" Harry joked, holding back laughter when she threw a dog toy at him in a teasing way. "No worries, I will teach you."

"That should be fun." She crooked her eyebrows at him. "I think I will need a good health and travel insurance then."

"I'm an excellent teacher. Plus, when we have children, they'll learn how to ski. George is already quite good." He stated.

"George can ski?" Evee couldn't believe it. The four year old was a better in many things she couldn't do. Including winter sport.

"William and Kate frequently go up to the Alpes."

"Right." The nurse mumbled, she used to go on holidays in Luxembourg when she was a little girl. Her parents always took her to the same camping park every year. They would spend their days fishing and barbequing. She never got any further than that. The park was approximately 400 kilometers from her childhood home. That's how far her parents were willing to drive.

"You'll be fine. It's settled then we'll go to Finland to rent a little chalet there and have some quiet time. I'll let Oliver know tomorrow. He's been wanting to get us into a meeting about the wedding as well." Harry spoke.

"What about?"

"They need a list of your family and friends. My grandmother will invite the royal and political aspect of the wedding, of course, you don't have to worry about that." The prince answered, noticing Evee nodding her head gently. "Do you want the Belgian royal family to sit more at the front?"

"It would be nice that they would be more centered than the others, yes." Evee spoke, even though she hadn't met them, Harry and her had received a congratulations letter in regards to their engagement. It was crazy that she was talking about where King Philippe and Queen Mathilde would sit on her wedding day.

"The seats will face each other. It would be your family on the left and then my family on the right. The foreign royal families will sit next to the block of mine, on the right side. We can give them front seats if you want. I'd have to ask my grandmother but I'm sure it'll be fine." Harry explained.

"Where would your mother's family be?" Evee wondered, trying to get the visual.

"Right across from my family would be yours and then the box next to them on the left would be my mother's side of the family. Our friends would sit behind them." He informed. "They already set up a seating plan, they just need a couple more details."

Eveline nodded her head, she knew there would be many guests she hadn't met before but she realized even before saying yes to Harry that that would be part of the deal. "I'll have a look at it when we're in the office. I actually went to see the dress development this morning, together with Chloe."

She had indeed visited Lily Dujardin together with Chloe this morning. Evee had mentally prepared Chloe, she couldn't start hyperventilating in front of her wedding gown designer. Luckily, Chloe didn't do that but she was already smitten with Evee's dress. They discussed the "Maid of Honour" dress in the meantime as well.

"It's coming along nicely. She said it would be nearly finished around January and then at the beginning of February, I can have my final fitting." The blonde informed.

"I honestly can't wait to see it. I have a feeling the press knows more about it than I do." Harry chuckled.

"They don't. They speculate but there's rarely any truth in there."

Evee had seen many pictures of herself with all different kinds of dresses and tiaras placed on her head. The internet was full of photo shopped images of her. Everybody seemed to have their opinion on what she would be wearing. They all agreed on one thing, Evee was too complex to wear a simple, basic gown. It had to be a romantic gown, a little bohemian. Something that wasn't as tailored as Kate's.

"I only know my grandmother's restoring the Strathmore Rose for you." Harry and her had discussed the subject and she had told him his grandmother's advice. She could tell he was a little disappointed but kept the fact that she would be wearing the Cambridge Lover's Knot at the gala dinner for immediate family and friends a secret.

"That's all you need to know for now." Evee grinned. Normal life secrets, she couldn't hide. Wedding secrets on the other hand...

Author's note: if anybody is interested. This is the seating plan for the wedding. Leave me a comment because it was quite a lot of work. This was the original layout for William and Kate's and I deconstructed it. Of course, they had theirs at the Abbey so some things might not be correct. There still is an aisle and the seats are also across from each other. You get the deal, right?
