Selection is a dystopian novel. 

For those of you who don't know what dystopian is, it is an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic.

To those who already read dystopian novels, this is a pretty popular novel, if u haven't read a dystopian novel you could start with books like Divergent, Hunger games and The Maze Runner.

There is a love triangle with most of us gunning for America to choose The Prince, but I'm sure there are people who are in love with Aspen too. I personally had moments where I hated America but for all her faults she was strong, loyal, simple and sweet. And these are qualities I'm sure we can all appreciate.

I'm extremely biased towards the prince, so I'd rather not give my opinions on Aspen and Maxon so you could form your own opinions. Both of them are sweet though.

Besides the main leads there are characters that you hated, that you will absolutely adore and there are characters that you liked that you will be disappointed by.

I liked this book for it's interesting political views and as well as the drama. Everyone likes drama if it isn't happening to them right? ;)
