Naval nurse Corrine 'CC' Collins had given up on love. She'd wilfully given her heart to someone who tore it apart, and she was left to pick up the pieces alone. No one was worth that kind of pain.

A month preparing for a top-secret mission at the prestigious 'TOPGUN' academy in San Diego was supposed to be her time to heal and mourn. The time was meant to be occupied by her work and her friends, and certainly not the blond aviator with an ego bigger than the fighter planes he flew.

wow. i'm not dead as a writer. this is my first book in a long time, but i've had a topgun idea for probably a year now and if it wasn't for nina (VOGHEI) it would've never been done so let's all say thank you nina for pushing me off my ass and making me write a book in the new year! also this book definitely was not meant to be rom-com style at first, and yet here we are...

the character of kenzie also completely belongs to nina! her topgun book, collateral damage, and mine go hand-in-hand in a duology, so you have to check it out! the book is amazing and kenzie is maybe one of the most well thought-out characters that i've ever read, and nina is genuinely one of the best writers i know so please send her some much-deserved love as well! cc and jake would not exist if it wasn't for nina and would still be scraps on the writer's room floor, so she deserves so much credit just for this book alone.
