      𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐙𝐈𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐙 moved in with the Conklin's when she was four years old. Her mother and father died in a car accident, causing her to move in with her godmother — Laurel — And as she got older she grew a bond with Steven and Belly, it felt as if they were really siblings.

Along with living with the Conklins, that meant that every summer they would go to Cousins Beach to visit the Fishers. And for Mackenzie, Cousins felt magical — not like the harry potter type of magical —

Mackenzie always thought Conrad was cute, and may have had a tiny crush on him. But she couldn't do much about it since Belly would kill her for liking the same boy she did.

She felt trapped at times, not being able to discuss crushes with Belly, she just wanted to let it all out. Plus there would be no point since Mackenzie knew Conrad also liked Belly.
