Sasha.

If Sasha were to be honest, she wasn't the biggest fan of college. To her, it was just like high school but this time you get to drink, party, and live around the obnoxious little fuckers. She hated high school.

Besides that, she was always more of the mature type. A goodie two shoes, but she didn't mind.

What could go wrong for someone who minded her business?

A lot apparently.

"Hey, Xavier!" Sasha approached her crush.

"Sash!" he turned to her with a warm smile, "what's up, how are you?" He asks, giving her a small side hug.

The contact made her blush a little, but she managed to hide it.

"I'm good, thanks!" She smiles a little bit, "you doing anything this coming Saturday?" She tilts her head.

The both of them would call each other pretty good friends, yet they never spent that much time together.

She felt lucky to have him, though. He was the only other person from her high school to come to this college.

"Mm-mm. I think I'm free" he answers her, "why, what's happening?"

"I just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out? Watch a movie at my dorm? Maybe go eat somewhere?" She felt a nervous feeling rise in her gut.

"Oh!" He suddenly smiles more at her, "yes, hell yes! I—"

"Hey, hey, hey!" A loud voice interrupted the conversation, making all the surrounding students, including Sasha and Xavier, quiet down.

"What do we have here, babe?" Scarlett Bordeaux decides to insert herself into the situation.

"Babe?.." Sasha felt a worse feeling in her stomach—much different from the one she just had.

"Babe?" Xavier responded just as confused as Sasha sounded.

"You heard me!" Scarlett pouts, raising her voice at the both of them, "I didn't stutter! You said you would go out with me on Saturday, 'Xavi" Scarlett gives a sly look Sasha's way.

"No! I've never spoken to you, one. Two, I never said anything about—"

"Have you met Karrion yet??" Scarlett interrupts again, keeping a boastful smile on her face.

"I—" Xavier goes to protest.

"Karrion!!" Scarlett wailed, smiling as she turned her head back around to the two of them after he approached.

"This, is Karrion" she bats her eyes, "he's gonna have a fun chat with you 'Xavi! Tell you all the things I like that you can buy me for our date on Saturday!"

Before he could protest again, he was quickly taken away from the now crowd of people that had surrounded them.

"Wha-why would you do that??" Sasha's voice cracked a little bit.

This was completely embarrassing for her. She had finally worked up the courage to say something to him, and it got ruined.

Didn't people keep to themselves at this age? Why was Sasha STILL getting picked on?

"Listen here, you little freak." Scarlett stares a hole at Sasha.

"Nobody, likes, nice girls!" She shouts, "you think you can get anyone here? I run this place!"

Sasha got fed up now. This was embarrassing, but she would not let Bordeaux win this one.

"You are so ridiculous! If only you put so much makeup on your attitude maybe people can pass you as a decent person" Sasha snaps.

"You bitch!" Scarlett gasped, giving her a hard slap across the face that echoed down the hallway.
.
.
.
"What the hell is going on down there?" Becky complained from the end of the hallway.

She wasn't supposed to be in the building. Hell, she wasn't supposed to leave her dorm, but at the end of the day she didn't care too much.

The consequences were there—and they were never serious. So they didn't scare her.

"My guess is Scarlett and her shenanigans" Finn sighed, "but what's new? You gonna do something about it?" He snickered.

"It depends on what she's doing" Becky tries to peek down the hallway with a squint.

"Oh, I think...I think it's that reddish-haired girl?" She blinks her eyes back to normal.

"There are way more than one of those here, Becky" Finn replies plainly, making her roll her eyes.

"Oh, hush" she elbowed his arm.

"Mercedes! That's her name" Becky slapped her thighs, "I think? I see her around often enough"

She thinks for a second, rubbing her finger against her chin, "you know what, I'm just as tired of that idiot as anyone else is" she shrugged her shoulders.

"See how I have to do everything?" Becky shook her head at her boyfriend, pushing herself off the lockers with her foot, "I'll only be a second" she started to walk over to the commotion.

Becky's growth of confidence didn't come overnight. The last couple of years for her were a bit of a whirlwind.

She was an entirely new person in her eyes and she  wasn't taking shit any longer. She loved it. It was something she was really proud of.

She hadn't been caught with the wrong crowd of people like many thought.

Well, the wrong crowd at school.

It was just her, her boy toy, and her mentors. The ones that were teaching it all to her. Fighting, defending, killing. Just business. She made all decisions for herself and made sure to keep things secret.

But she was still a normal chick!

As she grew—even in such a short amount of time—she blossomed into what she wanted and was finally the strong person she had long aspired to be.

With a little bit of an anger issues laced in there too though. Not all the mentors were so bright.

That would go away with time though, right?

"Hey! Leave her alone ya dope" Becky approaches the scene with a bit of a different expression on her face, fed up like the rest of the bevy of Scarlett's actions.

"Or what!" Scarlett scoffs, swinging her head around to face her, glancing up only slightly due to the very small height difference.

Sasha held onto her cheek, sucking down breaths so she wouldn't cry and pushing her way through the crowd to leave.

"Don't get difficult with me" Becky rolled her eyes, "just back off"

Sasha stopped her feet, now a bit confused.

Why was she sticking up for her? She didn't know this girl personally. Was she just telling off Scarlett cause nobody liked her? Sasha didn't know, but she decided to stick around.

"I do what I want! I'll expose you!" Scarlett gives her an angry look, "to everybody!"

"There's nothing to be exposed" Becky relaxed her shoulders. Now this was getting comical to her.

It wasn't like she knew what Becky did. If she did there would be consequences. Ones that would scare her a bit. She didn't have to worry about that though! Scarlett was all talk.

"Yes, there is! I have plenty of—"

"Why the fuck are you acting like you're seven?" Becky interrupts her.

"If anything, I have dirt on you, Liz. Unfortunate proof of you in the—American—football's locker room giving somebody a" she thinks for a split second, "you know.." she snickers, "did you know you're not supposed to sound like that when you do it? Is your throat okay? You were trying way too hard"

Scarlett went from frustrated to pissed. She didn't like Becky just as much as Becky didn't like her and the reaction of stifled laughs around the two were not helping her mood.

"You don't know anything! Shut the hell up you leprechaun!" Scarlett stomped her foot.

"As if I haven't heard that before" Becky thought.

"I will not be considering that" she speaks now, "I'm asking for a simple fucking favor, you dunce. Leave her alone, and don't bother her again"

"Ugh!" Scarlett didn't know what to do at this point, she just wanted Becky and everyone else, out of her face.

"Just get lost!" Scarlett shoves Becky back away from her.

She had never put her hands on her before. Maybe it should've stayed that way for the sake of her face.

In an instant, Becky swings a punch and hits Scarlett in the jaw.

This was totally impulsive. She didn't come over here with the intention of getting in a fight. But with Scarlett? She wouldn't even waste any more of her body's energy. The punch was satisfying enough.

Scarlett yells and falls to the ground, holding her jaw as more and more people gathered around the two, 'ooo-ing' and recording on their very out-of-date phones.

Sasha jumped, covering her mouth, "oh my god!...She deserved that" she thought. She was shocked, but that didn't mean it wasn't gratifying.

"Never, put your hands on me!" Becky brushes off where Scarlett touched her, cringing a little bit.

"Hey, hey, hey, what is going on over here!" A professor quickly arrived at the scene, "Rebecca Quin, you are not even supposed to be here! Did you do this??"

"What do you think she clocked herself?" Becky snarled, giving them an annoyed look.

"Enough! That's another addition to your suspension, one more and you're off the campus, please leave" they spoke to her in a stern voice as she mocked what they said to her, turning her head to a still taken aback and quite dismayed Sasha.

"Hey" her voice was calm to her as she walked over, "not a very nice introduction to me, aye'? C'mere" she gestured her head, nonchalantly walking away from the scene as Sasha hesitantly followed her.

"You're Mercedes, right?" Becky asked, looking at her as she walked

"Yeah, people call me Sasha more though.." how did she even know that?

"Hmm" Becky nods her head in interest, "both pretty names"

She then put her hand out in front of Sasha to stop her briefly.

"Hold on" Becky cautiously moved her hand up, wiping the tears from under her eyes, "you are waaaay too pretty to be cryin'. Especially over a plank like 'Lizabeth."

"Don't be affected by 21-year-olds acting like they're 12. I mean, she's older than me acting like that?? Sure it's by a year, but c'mon! We're adults!...Kinda! How pathetic can you be, ya know?" she mumbled, shaking her head.

Sasha nods in a little bit of agreement, wincing a little bit as Becky touched her face.

"Sorry, sorry" she whispers, pursing her lips at the redness on her cheek, moving her hands down, "I could help you with that, too. I've got..stuff at my dorm" she gestured her hand around her face.

"Oh..thanks" Sasha got a little flustered as she turned her attention away since she was nervous.

"And you're...Rebecca, right?" Sasha asks, breaking the silence and rubbing the side of her face.

"The one and only. I have no doubts you've heard about me though. People love to talk." Becky brushed her hands off, walking with Sasha once again.

She had never even looked Becky's way, but she had heard some stories and didn't want to get involved on her own accord.

Then again they could've just been rumors. Becky was being very nice to her right now.

"Yeah, I have.." Sasha kept her eyes forward, chewing on her lip nervously, "thank you, by the way. I appreciate it.."

"Of course. You seem like a pretty sweet girl, Mer—Sasha" Becky presses her lips together, "sorry"

"No, no it's okay" Sasha cracks a tiny smile at her mess up, "you know...I was kinda scared of you"

"Aww" Becky pouts her lips a little bit.

Sure, it was like Becky had done a complete 180 the last couple of years, but she was still approachable! Right?

"I can get why. I just have a little bit of an anger issue sometimes! I'm fine otherwise, I swear!" Becky sighs, "I'm trying to fix it. I just cannot have someone put their hands on me. That's crossing the line"

"I understand that.." Sasha nods, making a face at the looks she was from getting from everyone by being with Becky.

"Don't worry about those" Becky spoke softly to her, shooting glares back at them, "they're jus' bein' scary"

"Know from this point forward," Becky wrapped an arm around Sasha as she spoke, "I'll be here for you. As well as that pretty idiot leaning on the lockers" she pointed.

Sasha was still very hesitant, looking down at the new hand over her shoulder.

If she had opted to go with her now, she might as well believe her.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Mercedes" Sasha put her hand out for Finn to shake once the two arrived closer to the lockers.

"Finn. Right back at ya" Finn accepts her hand and shakes it.

"So formal of you both. Come on! Loosen up, lass" Becky pats her shoulder, "we don't bite. We're gonna be your friends now"

"More like I don't" Finn rolls his eyes just a bit, getting a fabricated look of shock from Becky.

"Are you joking? Right in front of her? Our new best friend??"

Sasha flickered her eyes between the two as this started a bit of a bicker.

She couldn't help but snicker at a couple of things said as she brought one of her hands up to her mouth in an attempt to hide her smile that was bigger than the last.

What was the worst that could happen befriending these two? She was sure she could survive if it worked out or not.

She didn't know what she was about to get herself into—but she thinks it won't be the worst thing in the world.
