" No Ahsoka. You're not going to change my mind, even with the puppy eyes " Rex crossed his arms. Ahsoka looked at him pleadingly. " But whyyy. " She dragged on.
" One, the General specifically told me not to let you leave until you're healed. Two, your stitches have not been fully cured and three I'm not letting you go and hurt yourself again" He looked away from Togruta.
" But I won't! I promise Rex, please?! " She grappled onto his leg.
" You can come with me! I'm so bored, please? "
" No Ahsoka, and that's final, " he shook his head.
" I don't want to get in trouble, and I know you probably don't-. '' Rex paused.
" Never mind. But I can't let you leave Ahsoka. "
The padawan grumbled. " Just tell him there was a threat and you wanted me to tag along just in case. " She lay on the floor, clearly bored.
Rex thought for a moment. I might work. But he had direct orders from Obi-Wan to keep her there. Unless given direct permission from Anakin that was. It wasn't hard to convince Anakin though. Rex looked down at the jedi at the floor.
" Alright. I will let you go ONLY, it you can convince General Skywalker " he watched her face light up. Quickly Ahsoka fiddled with her Com, hearing her master answer with a satisfying beep.
" Skywalker here. You alright Snips? " He asked questioningly.
" Yes master. Im bored, and Rex is going out to inform the small village the coast is clear for now. He won't let me go unless you say yes " she did her best to sound sad.
The line went fuzzy for a quiet second. " Can you walk? "
" Yep "
" Can you see?"
" Mhmm "
" Can you use your lightsabers "
" Oh yeah "
" Alright, be careful and remember they didn't like Jedi up until yesterday " he blankly stated.
Rex blinked. He knew Anakin was easy to break but Ahsoka really had the magic touch with him. She did spend most of her time with Anakin if she wasn't with him. Ahsoka looked up to him, and had managed to find his weak spots in a way. Ahsoka ended the com and looked up at Rex with a cherry smile.
" I win " she sneered, stammering up. Rex rubbed his temples. " Alright " he gave into the deal he had made.
" Go get ready "

The blizzard had calmed down by now. Small snowflakes were all that fell. The land had been almost changed by the blizzard, snow almost up to Ahsoka's waist. Although in its clarity, large crystal-like chunks of ice snuck their way above the snow, shimmering in the little light of the planet. Ahsoka was never one for the cold, but she enjoyed a change of scenery and a new place to explore. The small group made up of, Rex, Fives, Echo, Jesse, and herself had set of on foot to a small village located dangerously close to where their last battle was.
Ahsoka could tell, as once in a while her feet would hit a hard piece of metal buried under the feet of snow. The villagers themself preferred to be neutral and had all moved, relocated, or found their way there for refuge or to start a different life. In short term, they weren't the happiest either sides were there. From what Ahsoka could gather, after they were able to save the village and all its inhabitants the chief had eased up to the Republic, but still wasn't fully sure.
The job Ahsoka was tasked with was simple. Travel and tell everyone that it was safe for right this second. That their lives could return to normal for the second. Even though she truly wondered how a village could be all the way out here. And how they survived with the cold and snow. It was far to cold for any animals or crops. The only source of anything here was under the snow and ice, an icy sea that stirred from below.
The snow crunched from under her knee-high boots, Rex and his men in their cold modified gear trudging along as well. Rex came to a quick stop, looking at his holo pad. " It ends here. Takes two splits in the map. I hate to say this but were going to have to split up "
Ahsoka could practically hear Echo's plead not to. He hated splitting. The air went deathly silent. " Ill take Echo and head west if you Jesse and the Commander continue North. If either of us find this village just com each other and share your location. The other squad can hike over from there " Fives proposed.
Ahsoka nodded her head in approval, already planning out the direction that her group would go. " Be careful " Rex shook his brother's hand hopefully. " Keep him out of trouble Echo " Jesse added snorting as Fives stared at him in hatred. " I can take care of myself " Fives flipped around already walking away from his brother. Ahsoka let out a small laugh. " Alright lets get going. " she scanned the icy landscape once again. " Lead the way Captian " she let him in front.

The three traveled on for about an hour. Ahsoka was starting to become tired and cold but had to keep going. Rex had seemed to notice and slowed down slightly for her, but not enough that Jesse could tell. The air was quiet and it seemed as if both Rex and Jesse preferred to be quiet during the trip. " So much for c-close " Ahsoka shivered slightly, pulling her jacket closer for any source of warmth it could provide.
" Well, I think we just found it " Jesse pointed down a large hill. A small amount of light could be seen, along with the smoke of an active fire. It was a tiny village. A small wooden fence was built around it a few larger buildings ran at the bottom of the hill. "It's so small?! " Ahsoka said in a small voice. Jesse let out a sigh. "It's pretty small for coming all this way he tried not to slump. "
" You- you can say-say that again " her voice chattered. Rex looked at Ahsoka closely. She wasn't made for the snow. And the few hours of walking in it had seemed to have gotten to it. He looked back at Jesse than the padawan. " Jesse, will you scout ahead. See where any exit and entry points are. Make sure there is no outer security so we don't get ambushed. " Rex played a small order.
Jesse nodded. " Don't go any further than over there " He pointed to a large boulder. " I'll contact Fives and Echo, tell them to get back here " he smiled from under his helmet. Jesse didn't need to question anything. He started down the hill, and Rex turned back to Ahsoka. " You alright?" he asked the Jedi.
" Y-Yeah.... Just- Just a bit c-c-cold " she shook. " I can tell " he chuckled.
" Do-dont wory abo-about me " she tried to shake off his concern. " Sorry Commander. I have orders to take care of you " he pulled her shaking form closer. She shook and tried to save as much body heat as she could. " Your- your lucky.. That you have-have this warm ar-armour " she pinched the suit that was keeping him warm.
" Yep, got a built-in heater " he smirked. Ahsoka looked up at him.
" Show-show off " she stuck out her tongue.
"Here," Rex said, slipping off his gloves.
"You need them more than me."
"What? No!" Ahsoka said taken back.
"Won't your hands be freezing?"
Rex raised an eyebrow at her then moved one of his hands to the side of his coat. Moving a piece of fabric, he revealed a pocket with warm cloth surrounding it.
"I think I'll be just fine."
Ahsoka's eyes widened. "Why do you get pockets!? I don't have pockets!" She said annoyed.
" Despite what it looks like, they do try to keep us alive. " He placed the gloves on the top of her montrals.
Ahsoka stared at him through his helmet. " Very funny Rexter " she knocked her fist on his helmet. " Bet I can beat you " she smirked, pulling away from him and dashing down the hill. " I don't think so " Rex trailed behind her.
The two tumbled down the hill until they were in front of the large front gate. Jesse followed quickly behind starting up at it. " So what's next" he walked to Rex's side.
" We knock! " Ahsoka smiled, knocking on the large wooden gate. The second she touched it, the gate opened with a large creak. And there stood a tall woman. Her hair was long, she wore two large colored ponchos and a large headdress. A small crowd gathered behind her safe authority.
" So your the ' Republic ' I've been told about "
