*:°• One :"*-.

Ahsoka blew out a long icy breath.

Another mission, another win.

They had come fairly easy now, and she was begging for an actual challenge. Something that made her once more feel the sensation of adrenaline, a thrill of excitement as hundreds of red bullets stung past her face, the programmed yell of the droids as she dove down towards them, piercing the metal flesh with her lightsaber.

Ahh, those were the times.

Now she was just sent on the occasional cleanup or humanitarian mission, nothing that really sparked her interest like it used to do. Of course she made her best attempt at annoying her master about talking to the Council, trying to sift through the thousands of missions and find something suitable, but all she got was a lecture about ' having patience in knowing that the real rewards will come after you find them'. Out of everything she had been told while fighting the war that was the one that made the least sense.

Anakin was never patient.

She knew not to fight back with the much older and probably wiser Jedi but she wouldn't help but feel defeated. There were so many planets, so many places the Clone Wars expanded to, there had to be one place in the galaxy that might hold the hope of a more meaningful assignment than delivering fruit to refugees.

Jedi of all beings were supposed to have pure intentions, always stick to the books,  and yet she wanted more. Not out of spite or anger, but out of longing for another opportunity to feel the sensations that Ahsoka was designed for. She was born to fight.

Various clones were scattered around the area, the medics hard at work attending to the wounded. This planet seemed to have been hard hit by the Clone Wars, a wound that would never quite heal, the deceased clones that lay scattered across the planet a scar that would never fade.

Her breath came out in icy huffs as she heard groaning from behind her, her head snapping back as she caught sight of a soldier lying incapacitated on the ground, blood seeping out from underneath him.Her ice-blue eyes darted from the almost unconscious soldier to a large metal sled that lay to his left, the medic dragging another covered body onto the sled and calling for medical attention. Her lips twisted into a cracked grimace, yelling for a medic who quickly dropped what they were doing to comply with their superior.

Ahsoka grabbed her navy blue hood from her back, throwing it over her head to shield her eyes from the sight. Her feet trudged through the inches of thick powder as she passed countless hunks of twisted metal lay in the snow, some already being covered by the blizzard that raged on in front of her mixed with the corpses of her troops. The wind whipped against her already tired body, making

Forcing herself forth the Togruta focused on finding her master, wanting to leave this place and never come back. Snow stung her face as she looked blankly at the force, searching for her master's signature in the mangle of clones and other forms of life that hidden from the fight  below her feet. Her mind tired as she continued to look but found nothing direct indicating where the Jedi might have been hiding. Anakin was notorious for his stealth on the battlefield but at times he seemed to completely disappear, leaving everyone in a scrambled panic to find him before they were relocated to the next planet that needed their help in some way.She didn't worry about it at this point, he would show up sooner than later.

If Obi-Wan had that much faith in his apprentice then she could place that much faith in her master despite his rather, irregular teachings. Her mind ached as she stared down at her feet, finding little strength to look up and face what was right in front of her.She pressed on with an unforgiving smile until she stopped suddenly, hearing the similar voice of a huddle of clones. They were barking orders, calling out for anyone who needed help, as she stood solid, staring at his dark blue armor and medic decal carefully placed on the armor.

Leting out a small internal sigh the Padawan yelped his name, her feet picking up speed as she ran towards the clone who was almost to busy to deal with her at the moment.

" How it looking Kix " her voice was low and monotone, kneeling down to the ground and helping the medic pick up his assorted supplies.Kix shook his head with a suppressed but pained chuckle.

" We've gathered all the injured men onto the transports sir, everyone else is KIA. We can't do anything else in this snow! " He vaguely informed her. Ahsoka bit the inside of her cheek, nodding her head for simplicity as the two stumbled up and back onto the shuttle.

" Im sorry I couldn't be here sooner. Anakin ran off and I was attempting to find him in the panic. That was quite the ambush and I dont think anyone saw it coming. " She had to yell over the sound of the hitting her jacket. Kix didn't respond, his face conflicted with some sort of fear. Ahsoka shook her head with a grimace, the snow pelting her from behind.

" Give it to me straight, whats the toll? " she knew that face and it wasn't a good one. Kix clicked his tongue and stared back at the girl who walked a few paces ahead.

" A lot sir. " was all he said. With nothing else to do the Togruta offered a moment of silence towards Kix who had seen the worse of it and to all the men that had been lost only an hour ago. Her voice quaked slightly but she gound the strength to respond with finality.

" Im sorry Kix. I'll meet you at base and see what I can do. If you happen to see Anakin anywhere tell him I'm already up. " she pointed towards the milky white sky, looking up to see a faint outline of the ' Resolute ' her master's flagship Venator that loomed over the empty landscape.Kix listened quietly, but attentively with a small salute as she continued forth, leaving the clone by himself in a building wall of snow.

Ahsoka looked down slightly as lines of Republic Gunships transported troops towards the larger parent ship, her body aching for some source of heat in the cold desert air.Her body felt empty and cold for a little longer before she looked up , taking note of Fives, Echo, Jesse, and a few other assorted troops from both squads as they shoved eachother into a transport that was frosted with ice.It didn't take Fives long to catch onto her presence as the Jedi stood there, staring at them with her large blue eyes. A smile twisted onto his lips as he looked at Echo than to Jesse, than back to her.

" Hey, Commander! " the clone happily waved, gaining a small but aggravated sigh from Echo who stood at his left. The shorter ARC elbowed Fives sharply in the side and whispered something to his bother, turning back to Ahsoka.

" I'm sorry about him Commander. Please forgive him on behalf of me" He apologized, an apologetic look on his face. Ahsoka snorted to herself, feeling a small spark of joy in such a dead place.

" Don't be Echo. At ease." she looked at the sibling duo as Echo reached out a hand, pulling her aboard the transport with barely any room left. It was crowded but she felt much more comfortable in the dark frosty ship. It felt like home in a sense. The lift shuddered as it lifted away from the ground, the lights dimming to the atmosphere of the ship. An empty feeling hung heavily in the dark hanger as every sound died out except for Fives rhythmic tapping of the heels aginst the metal floor. It wasn't hard to see that the clone had something to say.

" Something on your mind Fives? " She asked with a small smile forming over her face. The ARC trooper cleared his throat in some sort of dignified manner, but quickly dropped the act all to Echo's formal dismay.

" So? How many droids did you cut down with that lazer sword? " He asked almost as if she was his best friend. Echo did a face palm through his helmet while Jesse stifled out a laugh from the other side.

The Padawan smiled, placing a finger to her chin as she pretended to think about it. " 75 " she lied with diginty. Fives let out a small cheer elbowing his brothers blue plastic armor.

" You owe me 20 credits. Told you I could get more then the commander! " He gloated, the ship lurching forward, with a jagid motion. Echo shook his head with resent and growled some profane launguage under his breath as Jesse and Fives had a small celebration from the side. Ahsoka couldnt stop herself from joining in.

It was always a treat to relax with her men after a bad fight. No much as the Kaminoans swore they were just a thing, a useless utensial of war she knew they were real people with feelings and she refused to see them as a thing. The clones were labled with being able to  '  handle all stress related to combat ' but she knew it wasn't fully true. She had gotten to see a part of the clones that not many could. They all had their own personality and enjoyed different things just as every other living person in the galaxy did. They were sentient beings with lives just like her. Without the Clones there was no Republic.

Without the Republic there was only evil.

And with evil only comes death.

They owed it all to the clones and she refused to see they as just peices on the board. They were her men and she was willing to fight for them just as much as she was commited to fighting for her master and those of higher rank than her own.

Opening her eyes to a new bright light from outside the heavy metal doors the Padawan took in a deep breath, feeling a new wave of warm air splash aginst her body with such force she almost fell back if it wasnt for the hand rail from above. Feeling a warm welcome and buckets of releif she allowed herself to drop the ' professional ' Padawan approach and relax, feeling the tension in her shoulders finally stop aching. The Togruta smiled a tooth grin, bumping Echo on the side gently as the doors swung open with great force.

" You guys get some rest after all this chaos. " She winked looking at Fives. " That's an order. "

" Yes sir.. " Echo tiredly groggled underneath his helmet, not objecting for even a second.

Hopping off the small gunship Ahsoka watched as the clones in blue fanned out, the fimilar hangar buzzing with activity.  She was home. And it felt nice to be back.

That was untill her com beeped from below, scaring the poor Padawan half to death right there in the middle of the hangar. A few concerned onlookers stared at her with question as she shook her head, pulling the com closer to her lips as it continued to vibrate.

" Ahsoka here. " she pulled her hood off, shaking the snow from her boots as it fell to the floor in an almost instant puddle.  The line was quiet for a second, but then Anakin's bold voice rang throught, making the padawan roll her eyes at how rambunctious he really was.

" Hey Snips. Had to take care of something. Seppie relay outpost. I'll be back on board as soon as I can. " He barley explained, the wind creating some sort of feedback as he left the line, Ahsoka not having time to respond. She said his name a few times in hope of some sort of sign but growled when no one responded and relising how dumb she must have looked.

" Thanks for the details master " she rolled her eyes, forgetting about everything from the past days and starting towards her quarters. Ahsoka loved the Resolute. It was loud and people were always doing things. The lights and sirens would usually blare, and it had become more of a tune she loved. Her room on board wasn't much. It was small with a bed and a fresher, nothing more nothing less. Seeing how the clones had to share tightly squeezed bunks she felt rather fortunate.

Anakian's room was right next to hers, some sort of something about Padawans and Masters being together at all times was his excuse when she first found out. She didnt mind it other than how messy it could get when he wasnt paying attention. The room wasn't trashed, just piled with gadgets and things he tinkered with when they had a small break from the outside world.
That small break was rarely ever so he was always sparing with her rather than putting things together. Not paying attention of the time that passed from her thoughs, Ahsoka halted at her boring grey door, rubbing her eyes for a few seconds as she stared blankly. It was a plain, bleak, and colorless deprived door just adding to her gloominess from the morning's previous events. Her mind was muddled and repeated in loops as sleep poked at the back of her mind. Feeling herself start to drift away the girl punched in the code to her room, the door silently sliding open.

Taking in the same grey walls Ahsoka peeled off her coat, throwing it carelessly on the floor next to the door as she glanced at the time. Sniffing in a large breath she groaned as loud as she could, collapsing on the scratchy grey bed and feeling her Montral hit the hard metal slab under the thin mattress. The sounds of other clones and personnel shuffling outside her door annoyed the Padawan slightly as she snatched a blanket from the floor and wrapped herself up tight into it. The cold metal wall pressed aginst her back as she curled her arms up to her chest, the thin material of her blanket sticking to her sweaty skin as she tossed a few times, trying to find any source of sleep there was.

When she'd finally stopped tossing and finally found the right position she breathed deeply and peacefully, resting her eyes. Sleep had finally found her before something stirred from within the dark room, startling the girl awake. Ahsoka peeled open an eye hesitantly but closed and dismissed it. She already knew who it was.

" You know your terrible at sneaking.. " her voice was gruff but not upset. Nothing happened for a few quiet and still moments before the person in the room shuffled again, laughing outloud to themselves. Ahsoka felt a wave of warmth wash over her as a loud set of boots clanked aginst the floor, stopping only a few inches from her resting place on the boring old uncomfortable bed. She rolled onto her side and peaked an eye over her shoulder, taking in the sight of the same dark blue armour but with a few added modifications of its own. She hummed slightly to herself before the Captian spoke up.

" You can't be tired yet Cyare. " Rex voice sounded more than smug as he crossed his arms, staring at the Togruta from below. Ahsoka smiled slightly, reufusing to roll over and look into his eyes.

" Try being a Jedi. It's harder then it seems " she talked into her pillow, feeling his gaze on her back.

The clone in the room placed down his helmet on the floor and leaned over the Padawan, a little further than before.  " I'm not a Jedi but I know tired" he smiled sinisterly poking the Padawan's shoulder. She groaned and slaped his gloved hand away.

" I'm trying to sleep down here Captain. Cant you go see Fives, im sure he would enjoy your company" her sassy voice emerged from her mouth. The Captain quickly caught on and placed his hands in the air like he was in trouble.

"I didn't mean to disrupt your sleep your highness. I thought you would be happy to see me. That battle was... Well it was something. " he playfully teased, his voice turning a bit sad at the end. Ahsoka smiled mellowly.

" Its good to see you to Rexter " she smiled, closing her eyes. Rex let out a betrayed sound from behind and without warning flopped down on top of the Togruta, her laughter filling the room as they rolled over a few times, trying to throw eachother off the small and uncomfortble peice of furniture. At that moment forgot totally about sleep and instead directed the little energy she had left toward the human as he giggled himself into an embarrassed mess.

After all the turmoil that took place just a few hours ago, Ahsoka felt somewhat relieved, that she finally had a moment of peace. To just enjoy some simple, childish laughter and to forget that all this struggle for the Sith and the Republic was really real, something which threatened to break her own heart every time it happened. It was just her and her Captain, having fun without any real worry or concern.

 It was beautiful.

Giving the clone one last shove the Togruta finally calmed down running a hand through Rex's blonde fuzzy hair, smiling brightly as they quietly stopped giggling after a few seconds. She was lucky the walls of this ship were decently thick, or else the whole room could probably hear them. That would be bad. No, it would be more than bad but she didnt want to think about that. She didnt need it now. Buring her head into the clones chest Ahsoka let out a sigh, feeling him breath in and out in rhythm.

" So how did it go with the boys " her breathing slowed, talking quietly. Rex shrugged. He always took the small group of his closest men with him into battle. They were skilled and had could quickly adapt to situations, which made them the best canadits to hold the front line and protect the shiny's who usually camped in the back.  Although he had been in the same fight with the jedi, they didnt see eachother much. One of them was always with Anakin and running around like a scared loth cat.

"  It was alright as always. You can never expect what Fives will do, and  Echo acts like a shiny right off of Kamino but other than that everything went smoothly.  " He ran his own hand through his blonde hair. Ahsoka responded with a ' mhm '.

" After everything was wrapped up and we were scouting around General Skywalker found a large tower over the ridge. He thought it would be a good idea to have Jesse and I take the whole recon center with him. Im assuming thats why he's not back"

" Ah I see. And let me guess, you declined so you could go and spend time with you brothers. And when you say brothers you actually mean me " Ahsoka tapped his armour, her eyes opening wider as she questioned his antics. Rex looked at her almost baffled.

" How did you know? " He teased.

"  I cant even remember how many times you have put up the excuse. Im surprised Anakin hasnt started to question it by now" She yawned, taking in the fimilar scent of  blaster smoke and the standard GAR soap. She only wished they could spend more time together.

She soaked up every moment she could.  With Rex she actually felt like a civilian, able to live without stupid rules, the dumb jedi code, just be herself. It was hard to place in words. It felt like she was something other then a Jedi. Relaxing in-between sleep and awareness the Padawan felt something stir in the back of her mind.

Something familiar.

Extremely familiar.

Her eyes snapped open the second who knew who it was.

" Kriff " she jumped up almost pushing Rex off the bed in the process.

" What?!" The clone panicked, sitting upright as quick as he could . Ahsoka shushed him, covering the clones mouth. She hadnt even had that much time with him and he was already back!

" It's Anakin?! " she hissed, pulling Rex to his feet.

The clone was in panic mode by now as well. Looking around her room,  Ahsoka mouthed a small ' im sorry ' before she shoved him into the fresher closing the door behind her. She smiled triumphantly but her spirits were quickly dampened when she remembered one key detail.

" His force signature... " Ahsoka rolled her eyes and slapped her hand on her face.  Why the force had to be so troublesome?

Pacing around the room the girl sorted throught her very short list of options and eventually settled on one she would probably regret later. It wasnt even that good of a plan, could fail under how much stronger Anakin was with the force but trying was better than nothing. Man, she was never goint to do this again. Rex was going to owe her a lot.

Sitting in the middle of the room , Ahsoka called upon the force using as much energy as she could. Searching around for Rex signature she quickly blinded it with the only thing she could think of.  Force stealth. It was something she had just learned herself and it was WAY out of her power zone. She could do it, but barley and not without almost passing out in the process. Holding her breath for a few seconds the padawan dipped slightly to the left, feeling everything inside her draining little by little.
A knock wrang at her door and the Togruta flinched slightly, trying to keep her balance.

" Snips, I'm back. We need to talk about something " her master sounded serious.

" Does he already know?! " Ahsoka tried to hide her panic as much as she could.

" Enter " she put on a smile only then noticing how scratchy her voice was. In a matter of seconds the for swung open and her Master walked in. He didn't look upset, and Ahsoka couldn't feel any feelings that would possibly hint to her and Rex relationship.

She gulped hard.  Just play it dumb.

" It's great to see you again master. " She bowed trying to be respectful. Anakin raised an eyebrow.

" That's new Snips. Did Obi Wan tell you to do that? " He questioned.

" Great going " she mentally scowled. Ahsoka was never the formal kind. Usually she threw a pillow at him with the force when he walked in.

" Yeah... " She laughed nervously, lying throught her teeth.

" Now we need to talk " he started. Ahsoka nodded. " You need to be careful Snips! Cody found this in the hall!" He held up one of her lightsabers. The Padawan let out a breath of relief.

" I'm sorry master. I didn't even realize. " She took the saber clipping it next to the other one.

 Thank the maker.

Anakin smiled slightly, but quickly noticed how tired she looked. He pat the Togruta on the shoulder and wandered to the door. " Get some sleep Snips. You look like death " nodded to her and closed the door with a small slam. Ahsoka was about to fall asleep standing up.

She wobbled over to the bed slab and collapsed.

" Your good Rex " her voice rasped.

The clone didn't respond for a few moments but the door opened with a  familiar swoop.

" That was to close. " He walked back over to Ahsoka.

She nodded tiredly. Silence filled the room.

" Well what are you waiting for? " She pat the blanket next to her, waiting for the clone to lay with her once again.
